Re: [INFO] Aplikasi Binance tidak lagi ditemukan di Play Store
by
Kamasylvia
on 22/04/2024, 05:02:41 UTC

Re: USD prices speculation
by
Kamasylvia
on 21/04/2024, 23:48:06 UTC
Whoever wrote that article has no understanding of the economy Cheesy
Specially since they are comparing USD with Japanese Yen and interest rates.

Let me put it simply.
When Japan prints money (lets say a million dollar equivalent) that money is only going to be used domestically inside Japan and it only enters Japanese economy. Simultaneously when the Japanese government wants to sell any bonds they pretty much sell it domestically to Japanese so that also stays domestically.
On the other hand when US prints money (a million dollar) that money is used globally and enters global economy. When they increase interest rates and sell bonds they also sell it globally.

So for example the $1 million US printed is going to be used by Saudi Arabia to sell its oil to Japan and the bond US printed and dumped on the world is also going to be bought by Japan. So now Japan is facing 2 inflations: First is the one caused by the $1 million they printed themselves and Second is the $1 million US printed and they used. Meanwhile they are also using the little money they have left to buy US bonds to help US economy stay up instead of using that domestically to improve their own economy Grin

This is not called "US economy booming", it is called a Ponzi scheme at its peak.

Otherwise a healthy and booming economy does not have:
1. A high inflation
2. A high interest rates
3. A government that prints $1 trillion every 100 days
4. A massive trade deficit
5. A massive national debt ($35 trillion) and growing

So things are pretty much the same as 6 years ago when you started this topic.
The more the world dedollarises, the more they decouple from the Ponzi scheme known as US economy so the more their own respective currencies strengthen and the more US dollar weakens.

If they do the opposite and do less dedollarisation, use more US dollar and increase their dependence on the Ponzi scheme, the more their own respective currencies dumps and the more their economies weaken while US dollar strengthens.
This goes on until we see another catastrophe like 2008 when the Ponzi scheme falls apart and it significantly and negatively affects global economy. More effects on those who didn't dedollarise...

While it is true that the actions of different countries can have varying impacts on their own economies and the global economy, characterizing it as a Ponzi scheme might be an oversimplification. Let's break down the points you mentioned:

1. Printing money domestically: When a country, like Japan, prints money, it does enter its domestic economy initially. However, the effects of increased money supply can also spill over into the global economy through trade and investment flows.

2. Selling bonds domestically: While a government may primarily sell bonds domestically, foreign investors can also purchase these bonds. The global bond market allows for the participation of international investors, which includes buying bonds issued by other countries.

3. US dollar's global role: The US dollar is widely used in international trade and is considered a global reserve currency. This means that when the US prints money, it can circulate widely in global markets. However, this doesn't mean that the US is solely benefiting from this. The global use of the US dollar can also have advantages for international trade and investment, as well as challenges for the US, such as currency fluctuations and managing its debt.

4. Impact on Japan's economy: In your example, Japan may face inflationary pressures from both domestic money printing and the inflow of US dollars. However, it is important to note that countries often consider a range of factors when making decisions about monetary and fiscal policies, including economic stability, trade relationships, and geopolitical considerations.

It is crucial to approach the topic of global economics with a nuanced understanding, as it involves complex interactions and interdependencies between countries.

AntMiners are primarily designed for mining Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which both utilize the SHA-256 algorithm. However, there are also models available that can mine other cryptocurrencies which are compatible with the SHA-256 algorithm.

On the other hand, WhatsMiners, specifically WhatsMiner M20 series, are capable of mining various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and other coins that use the SHA-256 algorithm. They can also mine other algorithms such as Scrypt and X11.

Both AntMiners and WhatsMiners come with pre-installed firmware that allows them to mine specific cryptocurrencies. However, it's possible to download and install custom firmware or software to modify their mining capabilities. This can enable you to tweak settings, optimize performance, or mine different cryptocurrencies. However, it's important to note that modifying the firmware may void the warranty and any potential support from the manufacturer.

Regarding operating systems, AntMiners and WhatsMiners run on custom-built firmware that serves as their operating system. These firmware versions provide an interface for configuring the devices, monitoring mining statistics, and managing your mining operations.

In terms of algorithm modification, the default algorithm for AntMiners is SHA-256, and for WhatsMiners, it depends on the model but typically includes SHA-256, Scrypt, and X11 algorithms. While it may be possible to modify the firmware to support different algorithms, it's generally not a straightforward process and can be challenging. It's essential to ensure compatibility and consider the power and performance limitations of the hardware before attempting any modifications.

When considering mining equipment, it's crucial to research the specific models you're interested in, as there are various versions and generations available with different capabilities and specifications. Additionally, mining profitability can vary depending on factors such as electricity costs, network difficulty, and market conditions.

Perishable UTXOs and the concept you propose for their handling is an intriguing idea. However, it is important to consider some challenges and potential implications before implementing such a change into the Bitcoin protocol.

Qantum computing: While your intention to avoid quantum computing vulnerabilities is commendable, the proposed implementation may have limitations. It assumes that all Bitcoin users will upgrade their addresses to a quantum-resistant format within a certain timeframe. If users fail to do so, their UTXOs could become unspendable, potentially leading to loss of funds for those users.

Re: Bitcoin Taproot Update : Ordinals are killing bitcoin use case
by

bitcoins use case has change
this is because things called OPCODES change the use case of a transaction. whereby it changes how much data can be contained in a transaction. how much of that data is even validated/accounted/counted. and other things.

when new opcode subsets are released changing the bitcoin rules via softening the rules.. it changes how bitcoin is used.
starting with allowing 4mb of unvalidated, miscounted junk to be appended to a tx that has no functional utility of signing proof of the sats intended to be moved, but sit at the end of tx for nonsense unrelated purpose to bitcoin functionality, which most bitcoin nodes dont even check the content of such added data ..

bitcoin code(rules) were strong years ago, where every byte had purpose and was counted and checked to meet the rules..
devs used to care about every bit and byte. and want efficiency...
now devs want congestion and miscounting of bytes and inclusion of bytes that have no purpose

the whole softening of the rules in the last 7 years has not helped bitcoin. but has just helped dev politics do as they please even at the annoyances of bitcoiners..

Yes, you are correct that Bitcoin's use case has evolved over time due to changes in opcode rules. Opcodes enable the execution of specific operations within a Bitcoin transaction. When new opcode subsets are released, it can modify the rules of Bitcoin by allowing for different data sizes and validation processes.

The introduction of new opcodes can increase the data capacity of a transaction, allowing for the inclusion of additional information that may not be directly related to the intended purpose of the transaction. While some Bitcoin nodes may not validate or analyze the content of such added data, it still becomes a part of the transaction.

Re: Americans Profits from War and Terrorism
by

on 21/04/2024, 15:19:52 UTC
War have causes millions of death around the world, forces people into extreme poverty as millions are displaced with no access to good food and water. Most times, what causes this conflict ranges from territorial disputes to regional tensions and terrorism. As war continues to grow worldwide whether it be in Yemen, Ukraine, or Gaza, the U.S Billionaire business men like Jim Taiches(Lockhead Martin corp), Gregory Hayes(Raytheon), David calhoun(Boeing), John Holland(General dynamics corp),Christopher.E.Christ(L-3 Technologies)continue to make Billions of dollars profit from sales of weapons,Rockets, missiles & Jets to conflicting nations. The United States of America been a major player to world peace have continued to sell destructive weapons just to make money.

https://businessjournalism.org/2023/12/war-profit/
These American businesses kept making money from sales of weapons to fuel wars in different parts of the world, while the US government ensured that no other country enjoyed the same freedom to produce. Any country that starts producing will be hit with sanctions to cripple the economy. Their claim is that these weapons are safer when it is produced in the US than in other countries. I wonder how safe these weapons are in the hands of the US and its allies when they are freely sent to Israel and used to kill innocent women and children in Gaza.

This idea might be weird, but if every country is allowed to produce military weapons at will, there might be peace in the world. When nations know that other nations have the kind of weapon they own, there will be restraints in attacking them. This is the case of the conflict between Iran and Israel. Israel attacked Gaza because they knew that they had better armoury but they were careful in dealing with Iran.

However, it is essential to acknowledge that conflicts and their underlying causes are multifaceted. The role of weapons in these conflicts is only one aspect. Factors such as political tensions, historical conflicts, territorial disputes, and ideological differences can all contribute to the outbreak and perpetuation of conflicts.

It's also important to note that the impact of military weapons on conflicts extends beyond the hands of any specific country. The use of weapons and the consequences for innocent civilians, as you mentioned in the case of Gaza, are deeply concerning and raise moral and ethical questions.

Achieving global peace and stability is a multifaceted challenge that requires comprehensive approaches beyond just the control or distribution of weapons.

Re: What's in For Altcoins after the Halving?
by
Kamasylvia
on 21/04/2024, 14:58:49 UTC
It has been a good ride for Bitcoin before then halving and now that it is done with, the momentum seems to have gone down, and as we all know, after the Bitcoin Rally, altcoins react to it. Do you think the rally of altcoins will start now or we should continue with our trades like nothing happened?

Correlation and pairing apply in crypto, so if the price of Bitcoin (BTC) falls, the price of altcoins will also fall unless MC is dominated by altcoins a.k.a altseason. As of today, Bitcoin (BTC) still has dominance with a percentage of more than 53%, meaning that it's not a good thing to invest in altcoins at this time if the price decline occurs again in the future.

Altcoins can have their own market dynamics and can sometimes move independently from Bitcoin. This means that even if Bitcoin's price falls, altcoins may not necessarily follow suit. Altcoins may have their own unique factors and developments that can influence their prices.

As for Bitcoin dominance, it is an indicator that represents Bitcoin's market capitalization compared to the total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies. A higher dominance percentage indicates that Bitcoin has a larger share of the overall market capitalization. However, it does not necessarily dictate the future performance of altcoins. Altseasons, where altcoins outperform Bitcoin, can still occur even during periods of high Bitcoin dominance.

Re: Info Fee Mempool Terupdate & Penjelasannya
by
Kamasylvia
on 21/04/2024, 14:47:46 UTC

The sooner we accept that Bitcoin cannot handle the entire populace on-chain, the better. Free markets are trial-and-error based. If Bitcoin has erred as electronic cash, then it's down to us to see which change in a crypto-protocol would make it look more like cash. Maybe there is none. Maybe it's dynamical block size. Maybe it's tail emission. Or even a compression method we haven't even thought of. In practice, we can see which is more recognized as cash.
What are the disadvantages of dynamic block size and tail emission?

I also wonder what are developers reaction to the recent fees that spikes due to Runes, I didn't find any discussion about that in Bitcoin stack exchange, Github, or Linux foundation.

But, as the fees is keep declining, they might think it's not needed yet.

LN isn't going to solve this if opening and closing a channel costs a week worth of food.
LN isn't going to solve because it would end up like on-chain. Tongue

Lightning Compatible: Different from existing token standards, Runes can be sent and received on the Lightning network, for faster and less expensive transactions.

The disadvantages of dynamic block size and tail emission can be understood
With a dynamic block size, the size of each block is not fixed, which can lead to uncertainties in transaction processing times and fees. Larger block sizes could also lead to an increase in the size of the blockchain, making it more resource-intensive to run a full node and potentially limiting the number of ppl who can participate in the validation process.

Regarding devs actions to recent fee spikes, that they may simply indicate that the recent fee spikes were not seen as a significant concern or did not warrant in-depth discussions at that time.

It is common for altcoins to experience a correlation with Bitcoin's price movements, especially during periods of significant price volatility like halving events. While the post-halving period may lead to a decrease in momentum for Bitcoin and altcoins, it doesn't necessarily indicate the end of their rallies.

There are various factors that can influence the rally of altcoins, including market sentiment, technological developments, and overall market conditions. It's important to do thorough research and analysis of individual altcoins, considering their fundamentals and market trends, before making any trading decisions.

Quote
That is alongside the second layer scaling solution and as a complementary improvement because something like LN can not solve much alone.
Well, if the problem is that on-chain peg-in transactions are not sufficient to bring all people inside LN, then there are other solutions. One of them is to put channel-opening transactions to the off-chain world: https://delvingbitcoin.org/t/can-game-theory-secure-scaling/797/1 And another is of course CoinPool, or other similar proposals, to switch from 2-of-2 multisig into N-of-N multisig: https://coinpool.dev/

Opening LN channel from sidechain sounds interesting. But on other hand, it'll require some party use LN software which monitor activity on that sidechain. And in practice, both party could just create the transaction on sidechain itself since sidechain usually offer lower TX fee.

Assuming you have an LN-compatible sidechain, one potential benefit of opening an LN channel from the sidechain is that it can offer lower transaction fees compared to the mainchain. This can be advantageous if you frequently engage in micro-transactions or require faster confirmation times.

The decision between using LN channels from a sidechain or performing transactions directly on the sidechain will depend on your specific use case, the cost considerations, and your willingness to run and maintain LN software compatible with the sidechain.

It's understandable that you feel more comfortable investing in well-established cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Binance Coin (BNB). These coins have a strong track record and are widely recognized in the market. However, it's important to note that there are many other legitimate altcoins with potential for growth and returns.

While investing solely in Ethereum may be a good strategy for you, it's always beneficial to diversify your investment portfolio. Diversification helps spread your risk and can potentially increase your overall returns. It's a good idea to explore other altcoins that have strong fundamentals, a solid team, and a clear use case.

Its important to note that the Taproot update does not necessarily have any direct implications on Bitcoin's use case. Bitcoin's primary use cases include being a decentralized digital currency and a store of value. The Taproot update aims to improve the underlying technology of Bitcoin, but it does not fundamentally change Bitcoin's use cases.

As with any network upgrade, there might be challenges or concerns associated with implementing the update. However, it is important to assess the benefits and risks based on technical analysis and community consensus.

The price of Bitcoin is influenced by various factors, and the halving event is one of many factors that can impact the price. While there is often speculation regarding how the halving event will affect Bitcoin's price, it is important to note that price movements are complex and can be influenced by market sentiment, demand and supply dynamics, investor behavior, global events, and other economic factors.

Just after the halving, it is not uncommon to see a period of price consolidation or even a temporary dip in the price of Bitcoin.

on 21/04/2024, 12:00:23 UTC
Why are we allowing this?

I would like to start a group who advocates for Bitcoin as it was intended.  Is anyone interested?
Mining reward will decrease over time and will gradually and fully be replaced by transaction fee. That is the reason this should be allowed. But bitcoin developers are sleeping to make bitcoin transaction to remain at 1 to 10 sat/vbyte. We need bitcoin developers to make a proposal that will benefit the future of bitcoin in regards to transaction fee.

You are correct that the mining reward in Bitcoin will gradually decrease over time, with transaction fees expected to become a more significant portion of miners' income. This transition is built into the Bitcoin protocol as part of its deflationary monetary policy.

It may take time for consensus to be reached on specific proposals, but the development community remains committed to improving the scalability and usability of the Bitcoin network while maintaining its core principles.

The geopolitical dynamics surrounding the US dollar and global economic influence are complex and evolving. While it is true that China and Russia have expressed aspirations to reduce the dominance of the US dollar, the ultimate outcome is uncertain and subject to various factors.

China has been working to internationalize its currency, the yuan, and increase its use in global trade and financial transactions.

Re: Important reminders

I may be hated for saying this, but what's currently happening in the mempool is a feature, not a bug. The fact that we have a fixed-sized block limit means that the current clogged up state would inevitably happen sometime.

Another important reminder: Censorship won't prevent monkey jpegs. Let's leave asides if censoring monkeys would undermine one of the important properties: It just technically doesn't work. People who spend dozens of millions of dollars in monkeys everyday can bypass every censorship measure and save them straight to the UTXO set, which would be a lot worse for the rest of us.

Here's another: As long as the law of supply and demand defines the price of block bytes, we can never on-board billions or even millions of people on a layer-1 solution, unless we undermine another important property; being practical to verify the ledger.

Final reminder: The free market decides the ideal tradeoff. "Is it better to have a dynamical block size?", "Would it be worse if we traded 'being practical to verify' with 'being for the poor'?", "Would a tail emission save the situation?". These questions are not easy to answer. However, we have a lot of cryptocurrency options, each tailored to meet different needs. It's up to us to determine which option suits us best and to refrain from complaining about the shortcomings of a single solution.

I understand that you hold the view that the current clogged state of the mempool in blockchain networks is a feature rather than a bug. The fixed block size limit certainly contributes to the occurrence of congestion.  On the other hand, there are concerns that larger blocks could lead to centralization and decrease the number of people who can participate in the network as full nodes.

You raise a valid concern regarding the scalability limitations of layer-1 solutions, especially when considering the onboarding of billions or millions of users. As the number of participants and transactions increases, the demand for block space also grows, potentially leading to congestion and higher fees.
