Re: [ETH] Ethstick - A satirical ponzi game with low limits to reduce risk

The website's getting expensive to maintain, I'm not sure if it'll continue to be around much longer (same goes for the greed pit) if there aren't new deposits.

Luckily, it isn't needed to participate or check the statistics, as you can do that with the Mist Wallet. The contract isn't affected by any crazy bugs like "The DAO", so it's safe in that sense.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive Wink

Hah, that's funny they used your well written contract as their example, when in fact they simply failed to understand the code.  There are plenty of excellent examples out there of Ethereum contracts with fatal flaws that would make good write-ups, but EthStick doesn't belong on that list. Smiley

I know, right? It's sad to see people don't even try. If you're gonna write about Ethereum, at least make some proper research and don't talk out of your ass. It's like the guy cared more about page hits than about truth/accuracy.

In other news, there have been some recent problems with the website, but it should be fixed now. The CDN that hosted the connection library was refusing connections for some reason, so I'm now using the file from the server itself.

The website got 500+ new visitors this week after Tech Crunch mentioned an article that talked about Ethstick (sadly the publicity was bad as the author misinterpreted the code, but it's some crazy exposure anyway). He updated his post with my reply to his concerns on Reddit after I contacted him.

For those curious:

Have a good day everyone, and feel free to chase some more carrots!

There was a 5ETH deposit recently, which means that the contract will be around for a minimum of 69 more days (in reality I don't have plans to end the contract anytime soon, anyway). If you were paranoid about the recycle function, now's as safe as it gets.

I want to remind everyone that joining now can award you up to 3x rescue tokens if your deposit saves someone (check the code for requirements), that means that your multiplier would increase substantially on your next jump.

Anyway, for some reason my latest app went unnoticed by most people, I'd really appreciate it if you guys gave it a try or at least left some comment on the thread, as I believe it's quite interesting and unique, and it arguably has more potential than my other apps: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1467743.0

[ETH] LuckyDoubler - Ponzi meets Gambling
by
Katatsuki
on 10/05/2016, 17:56:46 UTC

CONTRACT: 0xF767fCA8e65d03fE16D4e38810f5E5376c3372A8
DEPOSIT: 1 ETHER  MULTIPLIER: X1.25

LuckyDoubler is a hybrid between a ponzi game and a gambling app. With every new deposit, the payout goes to a random person in the pending entries list (deposit entry included). Thanks to this, you no longer have to wait for your turn in the queue, as there is none. If you're lucky, you may get your payout as soon as you deposit. If you don't, you just have to wait for more deposits like with traditional ponzi games.

The app's design makes it so that new users don't lose motivation to participate when there are a lot of unpaid entries, and it adds an exciting random element for those who like to take chances. If you join while there are few entries, your chances to get a fast or instant payout are exponentially higher. The system also works in your favour if you join late, as you don't have to wait for a set number of deposits to get your payout.

The more deposits you make, the bigger the odds that one of your payouts will be next, as every time someone makes a deposit, the winner is picked at random (think of it as buying multiple raffle tickets). Other than the random element, it works like other pyramid contracts: no actual value is generated; the payouts come from user's deposits.

To participate, send 1ETH to the contract. You can use the JSON interface below to keep track of the payments. Good luck!

I'll make a website if people show interest Wink

kat anyway you can clean your rep? i think its affecting new ppl to invest or not. seeing the negative Sad
No idea, maybe if people give me positive feedback it'll neutralise the negative? I also suspect it's having a negative effect... but I have nothing to hide. The negative feedback I have is mostly from actual scammers, the rest are people that didn't bother to check my apps or are nazis against ponzi games, even if they're legit and transparent.

It seems most contracts are stuck, I guess the price drop is making a lot of people lose interest.

The contract is here to stay, so even if there's no activity it doesn't mean that it'll always be that way. Ethereum is still in its infancy, after all.

Releasing new apps seems to be a waste of time, I'll probably wait for things to mature (both in terms of technology and community) before I release my next big project. For now we have this one, the greed pit, and my latest project LuckyDoubler, which unlike traditional ponzi games, has a random payout system: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1447675.0

If you have some ethers you don't mind parting with, try giving some of my apps a try and someday you might get a nice surprise Wink
If you want a fast profit your best bet is LuckyDoubler, as it has a 20% chance to give you an instant payout (contract address 0xF767fCA8e65d03fE16D4e38810f5E5376c3372A8).

So, no replies?

Nobody saw that? Huh
I haven't looked into this, so I'll just give generic advice:

If it looks like a scam, it's more than likely a scam. Giving these fuckers the benefit of the doubt only puts people at risk. If they're innocent they should prove it with solid evidence.

Judging from your comment earlier, it looks very fishy indeed (once again, I'm basing my assumptions on your observation alone). If it's legit, my apologies, but so far everyone that came up with slightly shady stuff turned out to be guilty.

If you don't like pay walls check out my new app LuckyDoubler: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1447675.0

It's like a pyramid but without a queue; the payout is picked at random from existing unpaid entries. That means that you can get your profit right away if you get lucky. Everyone has the same chances to win.

We've reached 200 deposits and the next payout is only 1.6 ethers away. Things have been slow recently, but we're not stuck Smiley

Keep in mind that there are many small deposits in the queue, so bigger deposits (3+ ETH) would result in more payouts being made.

It seems the website went offline because meteor is a piece of crap that requires 10 times the memory it should. I'm moving the website the another server with more memory, hopefully that'll put an end to unexpected downtimes.

Edit: Live again. This will also result in the website loading 1-3 seconds faster Smiley

Yeah, those scammers are no fun to deal with. If you expose them then they try to make you look bad. Sadly, my reputation takes a hit when they use their fake accounts to give me bad feedback and troll my threads. I hate dealing with them, but if it helps some people not lose their money that's good enough for me.

In other news, we got 3 new deposits since we got listed on ethercasts (even though they're small, it's a good start). ShapeShift is finally back, so that could be a good thing for us!

This is one of the best ponzi games out there, so if you haven't joined yet, now is a decent time to do so Smiley

Edit: I can confirm that the website went from 60 unique visitors to 180+ since we got listed, so we're certainly getting more exposure.

How is it going RUBIXI , AKA  KAKATSUKI?

You stole all money from RUBIXI account, and still running this SCAM??  Cheesy

That kid is either playing foul or Mentally sick... Don't know which one....

Too bad this kind of behavior throws a bad image on the thread of a legit pyramid
If people review the code, read the positive comments and the see the reputation of the people bullshitting they'll see there's nothing sketchy about my apps, so I don't really care.

In other news, shapeshift will be back later this week; it might revitalise things a bit.
