Re: Etherscan or Ethplorer
by

on 29/06/2020, 21:14:45 UTC
I'm using Ethplorer to check my wallets and track my tokens if the token I waited coming from bounties have finally arrive in my wallets, I have so many shit tokens in my wallet that are sitting in my wallets for years but I notice that some coins do not have value in Ethplorer whereas in Etherscan they have value, did you also notice that, which of the two are you using to check your wallet.
I'm using Ethplorer & Etherscan at the same time. But it has a lot of perks & cons, Etherscan has friendly-user-interface which has more common value coming from our bounties/airdrop tokens. In the other hand, Ethplorer is kinda dull and other stuff, (I am pointing out some of shit coins) which has no value every time you check it on after all.

Try to relax, meditate. Listen to lullaby song as well. You might wanna try blinking your eyes as fast as you can, so it will be tired and will let you sleep.

Have you used coinbase? Can you make money here or is it a waste of time? Is the site secure?
Coinbase is pretty secure. Profit? You mean extra $ while using the app so? It does, it has airdrop for verified user unless you're listed as a "whitelist" for each task which is available for all user.

What would be your target price of Ethereum for 2022?
Since it's last ATH wayback 2017-2018 is $1,000 each. I do believe at 2022 it might goes x10 up-to x15.

The infamous EtherDelta seems like it is finally at its end with another infamous icon, the dreaded 502 Bad Gateway Error. Any news or comments on this would be more than appreciated thanks again

Ah, man. I got a lot of memories with Etherdelta wayback 2017-2018. Sad to say, they're already down. Feels bad, man.

Totally the right time to buy Ethereum as the price goes down every single time. Opportunity comes once, hop in.

For those who are interested in investing in Forsage, I return half of the investment!
If you haven't heard of Forsage yet ... PM for details!
It's kinda risky, as far as I know, forsage running about a month and so. I do believe income & benefits which only come to pioneering members, correct me if I am wrong.

I also follow any of the groups of the coins I'm invested in as well. A lot of good groups out there for any legit coin that is trading.

Thank you, for this one. Gotta follow this!

Re: Is ETH better than BTC for payment?
by

It will be quiet interesting if you'll use Bitcoin & Ethereum at the same time as a payment method. For faster transaction if it's peer-to-peer or third-party-programs; you might wanna recommend to use Ethereum for quick transaction. In the other hand, Bitcoin is kinda sluggish for blockchain transaction.
Who says Bitcoin is a bit slow for blockchain transactions? even at this time Ethereum transactions that have a lot of pending unless someone uses a slightly higher fee when making a transaction so that the transaction can be successful more quickly.
It was just based on my own speculation. Since I've been trying to cash-out little by little some of my Bitcoins incoming from external wallets, and it took me about 4-5 hours before I received it.

Does fan might die sooner even I'm running a fully-air-condition room? I'm still gathering ideas & whereabouts before I start mining my personal desktop.

That depends on the bearing type of your GPU fans. If they have, for example, double ball bearings and you run them at ~40% without any dust, you should be fine for many years.

Brand-wise, Gigabyte and Asus tend to have the worse fans
Alright, thank you everyone for the enlightenment! I do really appreciate it all. Gotta lock this thread, Godspeed!

Re: What is a Trading Competition?
by
KenshinKen
on 18/06/2020, 14:28:46 UTC
What is a Trading Competition?
Do we trade full time, profit all the time and are superior to other traders? or how?
Usually, competitions have some rewards for the winner. Entrants join for 3 purposes:
- To win the reward.
- To "show" their strategy, so that they can attract investors to use their strategy/EA.
- To proof that they are good (which still means they want to attract investors).

However, I (personally) find that these competitions are pointless (to the people whom are consuming the result of the competition). There are many ways to "rake" the result.

Also, as it is a competition, the trading is based on a simulated environment base on price. However, it does not accurately simulate liquidity. Which means it does not simulate the price gap and execution delay, plus some other elements. Good (professional) 'winners' exploit on these missing elements. For example, a high-speed, automated momentum robot(trading bot) could do very well in simulation environment, but will fail badly in real-world. The reason being that in real world, there is a price-gap (filling of price with nearest price), while in simulation, it will always be filled with the required price (stop orders).

However, most competition-result-consumers (end users) are not aware of this and will take the result of the competition to be true, and thus will flock to give money to the "winner" to manage.

That's quite interesting, it's true that the block  size for BTC is fairly large.

Personally, I haven't used  ETH for payment yet. For larger amounts I just use BTC and for smaller payments I use Bitcoin Cash BCH.

What are your thoughts on BTC vs ETH?

You can mine and play games at the same time. I do it all the time.

Just set the miner to use 1/2 the power when you are gaming.

This only works with certain games and certain algos, if he is playing some memory intensive game and mining something memory intensive then it will not work. Some lite gaming is fine with reduced hashpower however given the amount of hours that people game its just better off to disable mining completely while gaming and just re-enable it after they are done.

Will it affect my GPU/CPU lifespan? Is it necessary to run the desktop 24/7 without shutting down? Just pretty curious.

Of course it will, just like driving your car 24/7 with the pedal to the floor.

This is true however the average lifespan of a GPU is probably at least 5+ years, usually the hardware gets obsolete. The fans are the most common failure points.

Absolutely, the fans might die 'sooner' if you mine with them, but they should be fine for many years, even running 24/7. The trick to doing what you ask is to tune your desktop so that mining isn't using all the available resources. This might be more hassle than it is worth though, and may well result in slower browsing - gaming will suffer too. The easiest thing to do is just mine when you're not gaming...

Does fan might die sooner even I'm running a fully-air-condition room? I'm still gathering ideas & whereabouts before I start mining my personal desktop.

Then be ready for some crashes on your PC, you can't mine and do video gaming at the same time, not even watching videos on your PC can work, when you mine the miner will use all available CPU and GPU power

You have a very powerful PC, you can mine with both 1080ti cards, and with your CPU too, this threadripper is awesome

I suggest you to download nicehash first, and mine with the app they provide, it's easy to start and you will mine with GPU + CPU

https://www.nicehash.com/download-center

You can decrease the power limit of your 1080tis because this card is a very power hungry, I suggest you to see on youtube a good overclock and undervolt to achieve maximum efficiency

But about the question of Gaming + Mining at the same time, no, you'll not do this at the same time, because both situations will consume resources of CPU + GPU, and will cause crash, freeze screen etc
Only with some very light games you can use at the same time of mining, but will cost resources too, decreasing the hashrate of mining and FPS when you are playing
Would it be really possible to set the hash rate into 1/2 of it power consumption? And set my video game into lowest quality to achieve high frame per seconds? Multi-tasking at the same time, probably. Mining - DotA - Browsing one at a time.

Mining in personal desktop?

Hello, everyone! I just wanted to ask. If it's really possible to mine some coins while playing games at the same time? My personal desktop has this specs. I'm kinda new when it comes to 'mining', I am using 2 GTX 1080 TI SLI, photos attached below. It would be totally great earning some digital money while enjoying the rest of the game. Suggestion is highly appreciated, please do enlighten me.

Any use for coins/tokens of defunct projects like Synereo/Hyperspace (AMP) and others?
Disregard it. Consider it as a lesson in your journey. There's always a lesson in every mistake, you can't do anything about it. Might as well create another wallet for a fresh start if it's just a one dead token.
