On the topic of trading I have a question.  50% of my holdings are in XEM and the other 50% are for trading with the idea that profits would buy more XEM.  I have never seen anything like today when BTC crashed and the alts seemed to follow.  I wanted to sell some other inferior coin that was getting pumped but as I was looking to sell I noticed that BTC was getting beaten up too.  (And probably worse than the alt I wanted to sell)  I held on and didn't sell but I am not sure if that was the best thing to do. 

Does anyone know a strategy to best survive in this scenario when BTC is crashing with the alt coins? 

Appears to be many reasons for the Bitcoin rise.  Does anyone have any thoughts (good or bad) on the Lightning Network that Bitcoin is using?  They are claiming millions to billions of transactions per second.  Can this really be achieved?

It's coming...but for right now there is a campaign underway to drive the price down.  The price scalping that is going on right now does not by any means reflect the value of NEM.  It's impossible to determine the reason for this (disgruntled investors, another coin threatened by NEMs' progress, a whale looking to shake out weak holders and accumulate cheap coins, or just because BTC is on a little run), but one thing is certain...this will continue as long as the trading volume remains low because the spread can be easily controlled.

The bright side is that the power of the NEM platform cannot be denied.  People and countries will eventually catch on and when that excitement and trading volume hits the market the valuation issue will go away.  I, like you and many others, have been frustrated by this and can't understand why other crypto coins run so hard on weak platforms, theory, and controlled lab tests.  We know what NEM is capable of in the "WILD" thanks to the efforts in Japan. This means so much more than the lab benchmarks and puts NEM that much closer to market dominance.

Thank you for posting this.  I have discovered this in my research as well.  What I don't understand is why NEM continues to languish in valuation and is so lightly traded.  I have seen so many garbage coins and cloned platforms have so much more hype.  Was just curious to the thoughts of others.  I am not trading my NEM for nothing!
