So, did altcoins get banned? 
I see many people not getting this -non troll- post, and it's okay. Not everyone understands sarcasm.
Back in the day, when we were making a shitload of money with altcoins, there was like 2-8 altcoin launches per day.
Mods and theymos were mad about it, because they thought alts harm bitcoin's ecosystem. So they wanted to kill alts, by doing a lot of stuff, which wasn't very obvious for non-thinkers. (Of course, there were some forum rule violations, but, meh. Nothing mods couldn't fight against. That's why they're paid, right?
)
Now, as you see, the alt sections were the sections with most views/comments, etc.
The people who were involved with alts pushed this forum's ranking to the sky. Not lame ass developers who fought about who'll take the credits for forking a few lines of code into BTC's repo.
This forum makes money based on impressions. Impressions are generated by the greedy ones.
