Brutal couple of weeks for Monero, has virtually been left behind on the run up.

Monero has a bit of a tradition of being more stable during both alt bulls and alt bears.
Until it decides to take a quantum leap.
At least this is the way things have gone for XMR in the past.
It's pretty common to feel like you are missing out on the party when you hold Monero. Monero throws it's own parties.

Hence its steady slide down the rankings from being a top 5 coin to where it is now
VERY rough week for Monero it seems, most of the crypto market has moved ahead and it seems to be one of the very few coins that has stagnated, MoneroV pump wearing off but still I thought it'd be a little higher.
The crypto market cap is nearly up 15% from a week ago and its gone backwards.
Hopefully May will bring us some positive price action.

Wow. I'm not used to seeing Monero fall more than everyone else. This is depressing. I can handle a downturn but why would our awesome project be the worst of the bunch? Jesus, dark coin is going to over take us if this continues.
Only because the pump was because of MoneroV airdrop, now it's postponed all the cash that flowed in is flowing out.
As much as people in this thread said it was about the "tech" more than the airdrop predictably they were very wrong.
Hardly anyone cares about the tech in crypto, that's why this market doesn't make sense to anybody
If Monero doesn't have an airdrop coming I don't see us having this price increase, may very well return to the mean right before or after the airdrop.

Judging by the giddy posts in here people still seem to be looking at the inflated prices of coingecko/coinmarketcap.
Looking at the price on majority of other exchanges the price is mostly where it was 24 hrs ago or it has gone down.
I thought it had some massive upswing, where back in reality it has treaded water while majority of other coins have gone down (which is something!)

Doesn't sound like Bullet Proofs are coming in the next hardfork, having to wait until what.. September? Basically a life time in crypto.
With how much transaction sizes and fees being the hot topic in crypto currencys this is pretty big blow to Monero in what was looking to be a pretty positive Q1-Q2 for it.

Too bad that no big social media campaigns about monero,if we have some decent social media campaigns 2018 is the year of monero ,i personally think next to bitcoin the only coin next to it is monero,(maybe ethereum and monero might share the 2nd place but not ripple or anything)

The Monero subreddit is pretty misleading, yes it has 100k subscribers but I dare say it isn't at all active for having 100k subs.
You still see posts on the front page with like 1 upvote that is up for 10+ hours (sometimes a day) which just shouldn't happen for a subreddit of that 'size'
I think its mostly because the overwhelming majority of people in crypto only care about the price then they realise they aren't allowed to post anything about the price then get shunned to an even more inactive subreddit.

Not sure why people ask these questions about if somethings still cheap or expensive, in essence asking whether it will go up or down
No one.. NO ONE knows anything about which way this market will go up/down/sideways otherwise they would be multi millionaires and probable billionaires.

I just started my journey in crypto world last year so I don't have any idea about Monero. I heard a lot about this coin and it is quite interesting, I'm planning to get some of this once I get my bounties. What I like the most is that this is one of the top privacy coin wherein the identity and transactions will be secured and I think this is what I'm looking for.

Mark my words. Monero will be at a 100 billion marketcap by the end of the year. With so many upcoming updates to the coin and on top of that ledger and IOS wallet. If everything pans out and there isnt a crypto meltdown. It is just a matter of time that bulletsproofs, kovri etc. will come. This is the best coin for real life use and WILL BE BACK TO THE TOP 10 if not, higher. Everyone is trying to make a quick buck from all these pump and dumps but when the dust settles only the strong, solid coins survive.

I believe on this. Monero has very many projects and updates this year. Their coin is really good, privacy coin. Really promising coin. Sending and receiving of monero is really no problem in monero and have privacy for both sender and receiver.
