We're working on getting the whitepaper all put together right now.  The website is being redone as well.  It'll all be released soon.  We wanted to get the chain moving first so we could build up some hashpower so that when people really start getting into it down the road the chain is already matured and very stable... rather than having a huge launch and tons of bugs.    That's also why we didn't do an ICO... we didn't feel it was right to do an ICO until we have a working product and a matured stable chain.
Scam coins always ask for ICO's and money upfront without a working main-net chain.  The fact that we took a different approach and didn't do that gives legitimacy to this project.  The whitepaper was delayed due to some tweaks in the protocol.  Whitepaper's really don't mean anything without a proof-of-concept behind them... that's another thing to look at when reading project whitepapers.  If they say tons of stuff in them, but don't have a mainnet chain deployed or any of the ''features'' claimed... then it's really worthless, since you can writeup any whitepaper you want and publish it (there's no review process like scientific literature), so we waited to release our whitepaper until our proof-of-concept was live and you can check it against the published whitepaper
