Re: Bitcoin to $50k before Xmas

Christmas is always a depressing time for me because it reminds me of how much bitcoin was worth at xmas 2013. I felt rich back then. Not so much now but I still hold out hope for the future.

still HOLDING
will hold till it reached $330 USD
and if it reached $330 USD, thats the time i'll decide if i'll let go or still hold on to it  Grin

$330 is not really a level i would want to wait for to sell my coins. hold it at least till the block halving if you don't need the money.

Lol yeah. I think you should aim a little higher than 330. I also agree you should hold until at least the block halving though I think holdign them for 3-5 years would be the best investment as bitcoins growth will take time.

It might not reach $330 until after the block halving. Wink

It might not but even if it doesn't it wont matter. Bitcoin's true value will only be achieved long term and when many industries have adopted it. I would prefer the value to remain low for the next couple of years so I can aquire more. I think bitcoin wont achive its full potential in less then 5-10 years.

Damn, I can't believe this is happening so close, it's unbeliable but it was unavoidable. 58 million of unplayable fee. I really hope these guys don't get all of their money stolen. Only if we were in 2025 they could have had a chance with Bitcoin we are still on the very early days.

What's unbelievable about it? These kind of debt systems are bound to fail because they're meant to be unpayable, but once they realize they can't keep up the repayments thats when the shit hits the fan but is good for whoever loaned them the money in the first place as they'll just start taking other assets and property.

I'm not sure I'd ever want to settle down in just one. I'd like to travel around a bit living in many different countries. It would be nice to settle down somewhere for my retirement age though.

Re: Paying Taxes Via Donation Experiment

This isn't a new idea. There are several ways people have successfully or unsuccessfully avoided paying applicable taxes. One I read was paying any taxes you 'should' have to pay to a charity instead of the gov. Of course some countries will still try to prosecute you but some may let you off. Of course there's also the issue that if everybody did this nothing would get paid for so it's always swings and roundabouts.

Freedom of speech is currently dead.

Comments?

Fuck Islam.

So.. I think your arguement is invalid.. Ill throw in a Muhammed drawing too if you want me to make one.

LOL

I wouldn't say it's dead but its under attack and it varies from country to country. In some countries you can be racist to certain groups but not others. Sometimes it's not ok to discriminate against religion but perfectly fine to discriminate against homosexuals etc.

Re: McDonald’s Is Days From Opening Restaurant Run Entirely By Robots

The food already looks like it was made by robots and the staff already act like them so not much of a change here. They've started installing kiosks where you order the food yourself at my local mcdonalds so it won't surprise me when they go fully automated. This is just something that is bound to happen as why would you pay over the odds for people to do a basic task poorly when you can get a machine to do it perfectly and relatively cheaply in comparison.

The government is the right place to blame. Why? Because they act to slow for this kind of method of payment? You can see the future of this bitcoin and still they are still finding more and more regulation just to control this bitcoin just for themselves and that is not for us. And the media is like mediator to connect us and government so they will know how big is this bitcoin is

What does the gov have to do with anything? Bitcoin works fine without their blessing or regulations. Regulations have absolutely nothing to do with the stifling of the price so we can't just keep blaming them.

I'm backing Manny. Don't like Floyd, though he is undeniably a great fighter.

Pacman will win a close decision, otherwise there won't be a re-match, and who profits from that?!

I thought there wasn't going to be a rematch? I'm sure I read it was in their contracts. Could be wrong, though.

Re: Which problems do bitcoin help to solve ?

I think bitcoin's main benefit is it avoids censorship. If Visa and Paypal refuse to work with you like they did with wikileaks/mega or any other sites they don't like the look of then bitcoin liberates you from that tyranny.

This is good but I usually see skeptics asking this and they don't get convinced no matter what argument you make.

More fool them if they miss out on the revolution. Maybe one day they will regret their decision.

In all seriousness, what random school district would have $125,000 to pay a ransom? Over half of states can't even afford giving the typical 3% cost of living raise a year. I know in my state, teachers haven't gotten a raise in a couple years now.

Yeah kinda silly asking for this much. I could understand maybe a few thousand and they'd have more chance of getting some money out of them then as it would likely just be easier to pay up.

So is the data backed up or not? If it is backed up, then simply restoring the files should be pretty trivial. If it isn't backed up and the files in question are actually encrypted, then they would be powerless to do anything about it other than paying the ransom or doing a complete reformat.

It's very likely they did have backups. I think most half decent schools or universities will have a good enough IT department to know to back up their files. There's a lot of valuable info that could get lost if they didn't.

Did you ever buy anying off Silk Road and have it shipped directly to your house?

I worked out it was police because only hard drives were taken and not screens/keyboards ect.

Do you mean computers were taken?  Or did the cops take the time to open the computers and remove the hard drives?

I think usually they confiscate the computers and take them back to the lab not take the hard drives out then and there.

Re: So we did stop calling it an experiment, did we not?
by
King Karma

edit: the question is:
_Is Bitcoin still an experiment or is it already the new paradigm?_

I think it's still an experiment. It still seems like experimental technology to me, though I can see why people would think it has moved past that. I guess because of the unstable price people are still uncertain of it but that may change over time. Maybe then it will be seen as breaking free of it's 'experimental' stages.

I am also holding and don't want to spend any yet. I really want to start buying things with them but believe the price is currently undervalued so want to hold until I can get more purchasing power. Willing to wait a couple of years for that but hope it comes sooner.

I'm not just holding, I'm accumulating.  I'm trying to find various channels for revenue streams rather it be ptc, faucets or whatever to gain ways to accumulate btc.

Isn't that the same as holding?

Happens to the best of us man.. Everyone gets screwed at one point or another Sad

I don't think this is true. There are ways to protect yourself and it's not that difficult if you know what you're doing but you have to be very aware of what you're doing and the computers you're using.

Buy buy buy!

Grin But when is the bottom? It is a good time to buy in but the fact that bitcoin can fall to such lows like this for no apparent reason is disturbing.
