Re: Stop asking "should I SELL or HOLD?"

The problem is that 99% of the people that got into crypto in the last year are Daytraders while 99% of the people that got into crypto before are the long-term type.

Also I'm no financial expert but from what I've read from most of them they look down on Daytraders and believe the real money is in long-term investing.

I agree with you. When Bitcoin reached $ 20k, many people thought: "wow! Bitcoin hit $20k, so next month it's worth $40k! I'll buy it now and get rich next month!"

People who thought that way, are now opening topics and more topics with the subject "Should I sell or hold?", "Bitcoin does not stop falling, should I sell?"

...come on!

i am laughing now,
daytrader will surely sell and buy later.
long time holder will be the biggest question here if to hold longer or sell now.
i think nothing but to be a day trader.
most long time holder are wiser than new one.

Yeah... many people do not even know what a daytrader or long-term ivestidor is. People read fanciful news and bought Bitcoins and buy today thinking they'll be rich tomorrow. I see many here in the forum that bought in the excitement of the moment and now they see the price falling more and more and they are lost without knowing what to do.

Believe me. Many people bought Bitcoins without even knowing what type of investor they are...

As what the OP has said, you should have already know if  you will be holding or selling the BTC that you have bought, I've seen a lot of topics regarding if will they be selling their BTCs or will they just hold it, it actually gets repetitive that it comes to a point wherein it is annoying, be sure to check everything, don't fully rely for answers on the forum, do some research as well.

I think you did not understand the purpose of the post. I'm not asking, but explaining to those who consistently ask about it.  Wink

Stop asking "should I SELL or HOLD?"

First, you need to answer this question; What kind of investor are you?

Basically, there are two types of investors: Daytrader and Long-term Investor.

Daytrader:

Daytrader is the person who buys and sells at the smallest sign of change in the price of the asset. It seeks to earn small percentages of profit in each operation. He spends a good part of the day watching charts and looking for signs of impending changes in asset prices. They are people who keep buying and selling all day long and making small profits one by one.

How does Daytrader work on loss?
Simple: the stop-loss function is used. What is Stop Loss? It is a tool available on many exchange platforms, where you buy an asset and program a sales order if the price drops to a certain value (or drops a certain percentage). In this way, the trader guarantees an "acceptable loss" and can try to recover it in the next operations.

How does Daytrader profit?
He needs to have more profits than losses and have a daily profit goal. Initially, for beginners, you'll have more losses than hits, but over time and with the accumulation of knowledge, your operations tend to be profitable over time. Do not expect to be a profitable trader overnight.

Long-term investor:

The long-term investor usually does not keep up with price fluctuations every day and also does not have in the stock market his main economic activity. They are usually people who seek to use the remainder of their wages on investments that can make good profits in the long run. He buys assets and "forgets" them. Just follow up monthly to see if it's a good time to sell.

How does the long-term investor operate in the loss?
When he decided to buy an asset, he studied and was convinced that that asset will be worth much more in the next months (or even years). If he bought, and suddenly, the value dropped, what do you think he does? He buys more in the next month! Or do you think he will sell and accept the loss? The more purchases you make at lower prices, the lower your average price will be. In this case, the asset does not need a "super-valuation" to be profitable. Just a good new price moment for the long-term investor to sell their assets.

How does Daytrader profit?
If from the moment he buys, the asset only has its price increased, it remains at his mercy when he sells. The longer you hold, the more profit can be. If the asset falls, it must buy more and hold until a moment of inversion.

Conclusion:
I see many people here asking: "should I sell or hold?"
The truth is that you should already know the answer the moment you bought the asset...  Wink

If you bought tokens with long-term profit objective, you have to hold and if the price is falling, you have to repurchase more to make a better average price. But if you are a day-trader, just use a stop-loss in your trades.

Re: Will Bitcoin hit $60k in 2019?

There are experts who believe Bitcoin will one day be worth $ 100k! Well, anything is possible when we talk about investment assets. But I do not believe in other sudden highs like in 2027. From now on, the asset should price more rationally.

I think that at first in such a situation you have to keep calm and do not make quick decisions, especially to sell your bitcoins at low prices. Usually overall panic on the market is artificial creation intended to have huge profit from it.

Those who manage to remain calm in this moment of panic will recover their investments soon (and at a profit!). But those who sell in the panic of the moment, will see the asset returning to good levels and thinking: "why I did not hold? If I sold today, I would have made a profit!".

Re: What is the reason for bearish of BTC

Bitcoin was very quick and sharp. I believe it was a pricing manipulated by large players to make a profit, a consequence of investments when the price was much lower. Now, after such a high, an achievement for price adjustment is normal. Who bought high, have to be patient and wait  Undecided

That's how the financial market works. Amateurs buy high and sell low when they see the falling asset ... people panic. Those people need to understand the meaning of the word "investment" before venturing into that market. If you bought it on high, here's a tip: don't sell! hold it!

Bitcoin price will fall and rise, this is given even before.
if people will learn how to hold and never panic it will continue to rise.
this month is a month of acquiring and gathering coins and tokens.
whale will win in this collecting of fruits because small hands are getting weaker because of panic attack.

You used the correct word: panic. But that's how the financial market works. Amateurs buy high and sell low when they see the falling asset ... panic. People need to understand the meaning of the word "investment" before venturing into that market.

Signature: Campaigns or Affiliates?
by
KingBit.io
on 16/08/2018, 18:16:10 UTC
Does anyone here use your signature on an affiliate program? I see many signatures because of campaigns and bounties , but I was wondering how much using your own signature in good affiliate program (NOT campaigns or Bounties) is profitable in the long run?

Would it be more profitable to participate in a campaign or use in a particular way?

As I'm working on a betting project with bitcoins, as you can see from my subscription, I'm doing research to try to develop an affiliate program that is attractive for forum users to use on their signatures.

So suggestions are welcome!  Wink

Re: BTC is back ? is that good time to invest ?

Is Bitcoin back? He never left. After this price correction, my vision, as an investor, is that we are already in a great point of purchase. Who is an investor knows that times of downturn are ideal to make regular acquisitions of the asset to be making a low average price. As well, when it goes back up, you will have much faster profits.

SEll your crypto and then invest again in the lowest possible market price for the crypto after the huge fall down. This is another way to earn more crypto even if market price is down. IT will not matter on the equivalent of that crypto to fiat even if it means that after the huge fall you can lose some of your money. This strategy is a better way to increase your crypto.
I suggest to still hold it. Dont sell it right now because you will add to the problem, if you sell it right now the vakue of bitcoin will drop so please dont do that. But sometimes we have incidence that we need money on our daily need especially in food, well its ok but dont do it everytime.

You're right. At this time, the best option is to hold your coins and wait for a better time, or even make new acquisitions at current prices.

Re: Bitcoin's price is not stop falling! What to do?

In my opinion, LET THE PRICES DROP. You know what I believe will happen? New waves of investors will "get in" while they can as prices plummit which will certainly help to stimulate prices. Also, we all know how BIG of a player the PRESS is when it comes to spreading the word about cryptos. In fact, poor press coverage is responible for many ICO failures.

My reason for mentioning the media up is that no news is bad news; no coverage is bad coverage. As we see such large percentile drops within a short period of time (this is the lowest of the year) more outlets will begin to release publications covering the topic.

This means, quite literally, that the declining prices can (and probably will) not only have a turning point but a strong one at that.

For people who believe that someday bitcoin prices will soar compared to today's prices, of course the current price, when there is a decline, is a good opportunity for them to start investing their money. But for those who are hesitant or even do not believe in the future of bitcoin, they are free to sell the assets they have. So, what to do is depends on the confidence of each individual.

No doubt! It's a very good time for buyers!

Re: What happens when the price of Bitcoin falls below the cost of mining?
by
KingBit.io
on 14/08/2018, 12:12:50 UTC
The best option is to stop mining for now. When the price of Bitcoin rises again, we will have thousands of miners waiting for this moment. And if you are a miner and have working capital to mine at a loss, and you believe that Bitcoin will return to highs in the future, then mining can now be a good long-term investment. It is an expense that will be rewarded in the future.

Panicking and shouting on the forum those who are afraid, who can not cope with his fear. If you come to the investment market you must learn to see what others do not see. Some panic, and others are waiting for a great moment. I'm not telling you to buy, I'm telling you to watch and act.

Exact tazmannia! If you are an investor, you can not be on the panic side, but on the strategic and rational side. You need to see the opportunity through the panic.

Re: Bitcoin's price is not stop falling! What to do?

I see many discussions about Bitcoin's current situation as "Bitcoin is dead" or "How long will the price go down?" etc...

Well, here's an explanation:

Are You an Investor or a Gambler?
Think about it a little. When you bought Bitcoin at $ 19k or $ 12k, did you know what you were doing or came into the excitement of the moment? If you bought for this price, you should have at least a reasoned opinion that the asset would go up higher. After all, no one buys expecting price drop.

Did you buy Bitcoins using major money in your personal expenses or used a cash reserve?
I saw many people taking loans to buy Bitcoin in December 2017! This is not correct, who is an Investor, uses only the money that is left over, not the money that is needed. You can never use your money in the "expectation" of profits in the short term!

Why is the price dropping?
Bitcoin is undergoing a phase of correction in its price. This is quite common in the stock market for example. When an asset rises abruptly (irrational pricing), it is normal for it to have a value correction (rational pricing).

Will the price rise again?
After the high of December 2017, we could see many people, mainly without knowledge in this market, who saw news like "Bitcoin valued 10,000% in the last 6 months" and began to buy only by the excitement of the numbers. Now, these people who bought Bitcoin at $ 19,000 are desperate for the steady fall in price. Many people are selling accepting a loss because of their inexperience.

Should I Buy or Should I Sell?
This is up to you. Before you make such an important decision, study the market. Returning to the high price situation in December 2017: do you think big players were buying at that time? with the price at $ 19,000? Come on! The answer is NO! They were selling. They bought while it was cheap and sold on the high. This is the difference between Professionals and Amateurs. As one buys low and sells on high, the other buys on the high and sells low. If you want to be an investor, study it. And, more importantly, do not make decisions based on news!

If you identify with this short article, I hope I have helped!  Wink
I agree with what you write, I hope everyone in this Forum reads so that they can share it again with the beginners, what I want to strengthen is the issue of investment money, even though currently the price of Bitcoin is cheap but still you only use the remaining money, not money needed, let alone having to borrow from the bank because we don't know when Bitcoin will rise again and give you a good return.

Exact! People need to leave the excitement aside when we talk about investments.

Re: Crypto is For Risk Takers

For short-term traders, it has a well-known term in the stock market called "Stop-loss", with it, you control your risk and possible losses. Who is a trader should operate using this tool. Every asset market is risky, but trading without Stop-loss is taking unnecessary risk.
