Re: Sportsbet.io "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds

Yeah it was a dull match, more points in the first half than in second and barely half the required 21. We go again today.

Yep! Hopefully one of them ends up hitting  Smiley
Either way, I'm going to have a decent amount of BTC tied up on a tournament I probably wasn't going to bet on in the first place.

I think even one of them hitting would be so awesome for me, and I suppose having all that btc tied up for Euros is good for me -- god knows I'll be spending them all on silly bets otherwise =D BTC above 60k by end of EURO should be another bet I'd tie down some BTC for heh.

But aren't the players kinda tired after this 2 in 1.5 seasons ? Because it started way more sooner and it ended way more faster in most of the top countries. I won't count on a lot of goals to be honest but I can count on solid teams like England , Italy and France to get victories, as in my opinion, 2 of this 3 teams are gonna be in the final and if I have to chose a team would be England because let's be honest, their squad right now is hot with really talented players who could score just by having 1 chance ( Kane , Foden , Sancho).  I won't count France out yet from winning the final but France squad really had a tough championship and even the players from abroad played a lot ( Pogba , Benzema , Kante ), so I think some players won't perform at their highest level.

Yup, it was a boon for some teams, the early "break", exhausted Leeds totally took advantage and won the Championship they otherwise normally falter towards the end, and for Liverpool, it just stretched their main 11 so badly they were playing on fumes -- the fact they got KO'd out of many competitions really helped their end-of-season legs.

Tired teams should lead to more mistakes and goals in Euro -- so counting on exactly that to happen so we hit all those over goal bets!

Re: Which coin is best for small payments?

All of the suggestions here are good, but only because these alts everyone is talking about have very low use, very low community numbers. You want to know what I think is the best coin for payments? Bitcoin. It is accepted by everyone, and the number of accepting people is growing.

Now I am reading up with great interest the developments of Lightning Network. This capacity is promising. If it happens, and it will, Bitcoin will return to being the best coin for any payment, even micro transactions.

Re: With how much should i start

Sorry to come in late for this discussion, but I would like to share my own personal experience, not exactly as it happened, but it is just to give a new perspective about how much money is enough. One of my lucky breaks in the world of crypto was right in the middle of March last year, when I was just having a chat with a few people in a public chatroom. We played a game, had some good discussions and then suddenly someone asked hey do you have a Doge wallet? My answer was of course, no. Anyway, never mind. Long story short, I was given away $10 worth of Dogecoin at the time, which the guy rounded to 50k Doge. It was not even as investment for me, but I kept it.

Today, this balance is now worth more than $400 dollars. It's amazing isn't it?

Re: [2017-12-19] Youbit Exchange Files For Bankruptcy

So that means at least three South Korean exchanges have been hacked this year, at least those who made it public. I cannot remember the first one in March, but Bithumb recently was discovered last month (although the hack started all the way in April) and now Youbit. It must be of little coincidence that all these hacks started around the same time. Perhaps more exchanges are affected but do not know it yet? I'd change all my passwords if I'm using a South Korean exchange now.

Re: Bitcoin's value vs Ethereum
by
Kinohimitsu
on 07/12/2017, 07:13:08 UTC
I used to think that, as the value of bitcoin appreciates, so also should the value of Ethereum. But it seems the reverse is the case.
My question is, Why is it so? I need your opinions, for clarity sack and a better understanding that would really stand as a guide.

This was the first pattern many economists of crypto observed in the spring of 2017, when Bitcoin was making its early emergence from the old barriers of $1,500. As Bitcoin rose, almost all the other alts did as well. This was when Ethereum also broke $400. But, later, as Bitcoin corrected, and then again moved upwards, the other coins failed to repeat their performance. So the theory that all crypto was linked was disproven.

Today, alts move against Bitcoin when the latter weakens. This is now the hegemony removed.

Board Speculation (Altcoins)
Re: Altcoins that might survive in the future?

I say this from a very distant view of a very distant observer. Alternative coins that have been most prominent in all of my research and daily readings are of course Ethereum, Litecoin and Monero. Even Dogecoin has a lot of news and mentions, despite it not being otherwise a progressive coin, but I can understand how a strong community can carry it through.

The rest seem just like ICO projects with unnatural mentions with a fickle community mostly complaining about price.

Re: Have you ever invested in an ICO?

Hello from a person who has never invested in an ICO. I read up with much interest, and I will say that all of the news has increased my appetite to participate in an ICO for the first time. Yet, at the same time, all the bad news is holding me back. It would seem, in this case, regulation such as what looks like will happen in China, is the only way to help people like me so we do not get burned by our first experience.

I read yesterday how Confido disappeared. That is very frightening to me.

Very interesting threads in this forum section, which until recently I had not paid attention to with earnest. This week, I learnt several new things about online casinos for Bitcoin and I have to express that it is a very enlightening process.

For example this theory of not being able to stop. It is very much psychology and cryptocurrency presents an even psychological impact of that it is virtual money not even expressed in yen or dollar. Very interesting!

This is such a funny and weird world of development. When I first arrived, there was a fork planned by ABC. And several weeks ago, I was surprised to learn of a new fork. And today, after two weeks I return to this gracious channel and found out that the fork I heard about earlier has not happened (Segwit fork). The one I missed was one I had completely been unaware of (Bitcoin Gold).

Now I would like to ask is there a place to keep track of these Bitcoin forks?

Re: Real decentralized coins ?
by
Kinohimitsu
on 26/10/2017, 06:02:29 UTC
I thought all cryptocurrency was decentralized? In all the readings I have done, I have not come across this thing about a centralized team in Ethereum, so this is good learning for me in this forum. Until today I only read and do no participate, I only sent Bitcoins to an exchange about one month ago but never dared to buy anything. Still watching and learning, thank you for this information.

They wish.

Most people, even teams building an ICO, have not yet crasp the idea of what is decentralization.

A truly decentralized token, doesn't have any control by anyone or anybody, either person or organisation, country or community.

It runs autonomously.

But how would a project benefit if it was totally decentralised? It just can't.

But lets not mix decentralised with blockchain. A project can use the blockchain and at the same time be centralized. Most prefer to call it semi-centralised, although its just a marketing name.

Thank you for the kind time to explain this to me. But to my understanding, Bitcoin is being developed by a group of people, and also they are the same people who take care of the coding and maintenance, other than the other people around the world who are securing the network with nodes. How do we say that this is decentralized in the same spirit? As you say, it is with cooperation that projects can benefit.

Thank you to all users buwaytress and jackg, for your helpful responses, yes I finally understood that I only had to not worry as the balances had no issues later on when I made withdrawals, it came from a new and different address. But, it finally arrived in my own address, which is the main concern saved.

To user achow101, you say that these are not my addresses but those of the exchanges. Have there been any exchanges who have not honoured their promises to withdraw the funds of users? If so, then I believe users must be warned of such possibilities as when I signed up for Poloniex, there was no mention of anything like them controlling my funds. Could you explain how I can own the addresses that I use for Poloniex to secure myself?

Looks like there isn't any bonus for beta testing and reviewing. I did my exchange and posted my experience as above, but no response. I'm not sure I would try to use this exchange again looking at their lack of response. At least the exchange went through as expected - even if it took a while and needed support intervention. Let's wait and see.

Hi. To share my experiences with Nexchange.IO, I will begin by explaining my first steps in this post:

1) I wanted to exchange 3,000 Doges, I entered that amount and clicked confirm.
2) It asked to make a payment of BTC, which I did.
3) Transaction was immediately picked up, and then you have to wait for confirmation. This was slow. After more than 40 minutes from 1 confirmation, I contacted Live Support after 5 confirmations, giving my order reference OEHR0N .
4) Live Support completed my order in 1 minute.

Bad: long wait, still not sent after 5 confirmations.
Good: Live Support completed after I explained.

Should I be worried?
by
Kinohimitsu
on 09/09/2017, 19:26:48 UTC
Hello, I hope someone can help. I recently opened a new account an an trading website: Poloniex.com. Before this, I only made an account for Bitcoins using a immediate card purchase and kept it all on a online wallet. Yesterday, I made a withdrawal from the wallet into my Poloniex account and paid all the fees etc. And today I checked, the wallet is empty. And I checked my Poloniex and the amount it there. BUT this is the problem:

When I checked the address I sent to, the blockchain shows that all the money I sent there is GONE, sent to someone else. I have sent a support to stop it before confirmation but does anyone know what I can do?
