For the record I was the one who boosted KDC up to 43ksat a long time ago when it was around 22k. With 1 more btc it would have been at over 1,000,000satoshi but some of you laughed at me when I said we should increase the price then, that it would be better to wait. On coinmarket at that time there were barely any sell orders and we could have made the price whatever we wanted. Many more BTC would be in KDC right now if people saw that it's value went from 22,000sat to 1,000,000 (50x increase) and we would have all multiplied our initial investments.
Yes, we were all supporting it and we (the devs) we're also buying it up with you, however i recall someone posting earlier on in this thread, boasting about dumping on us and crashing the price down to 20k sats. From which it didn't go back up

Its not 'our coin' its a community project, they were volunteers, we aren't paid either, we see no income from running the coin. Its not a business, they were mostly early adopters who mined quite a lot early on and had a reason to see the coin succeed.
You're not investors in us, we dont directly benefit from you buying KDC. We seeded the coin, if we dont have the full backing of the community why would we continue. We were fighting an uphill battle once people started talking as if we were gone for good and organising a takeover.
Why not make a poll or something... I rather dont see you guys leave this project... but maybe its time to invite some new people on the team?
and come back stronger? just dont give up cause some people want to see you leave...
And pls tell me... Did the devs did a dump? or are you guys still holding... If holding, Why give up now?

Thanks for your support but no, the community wants to takeover so it is all theirs. The people interested in this have a week to organise themselves before we pull the plug on the server hosting the site etc.

for those nodes not syncing, the problem may be you use klondike.conf, it is wrong use klondikecoin.conf

We'll happily hand it to you so you can do a better job. The community leaders had full access to the kdc bitcointalk account and website and it was their responsibility to update those. Contrary to popular belief Dave kept communicating with them.
As mentioned several times over we have been working on the exchange previously promised, the idea being to feature KDC pairs. And we have another project which i am not disclosing which would have featured KDC prominently.
In light of the abuse we have been taking and the fact everyone here seems to have turned into entitled, unappreciative, demanding children we will continue working on these projects and release them separate to KDC.
We have received various threats and abuse over the last few weeks, why the hell would we want to continue investing any time in KDC? THe idea of getting community leaders in were for them to handle marketing and thread updates whilst we work on the features promised. The exchange is fully functional but not quite complete in looks, deposits, withdrawals, trades etc all work. We just have major security concerns in light of all of the exchanges that have popped up and been wiped out over the last few months. This is delaying the release.
As for the wallet sync issues, this has been corrected ina fix pushed to github 4 days ago, we were waiting on Karl to build the new wallet bit he has been having problems with his build environment.

We have not abandoned the coin, several prominent members look to have thrown their toys out of the pram and have started giving that impression, damaging the coin further - however they now want a community takeover so they can have the coin.
A community takeover is more than welcome, you have a week from now to organise hosting for the site and other services (block explorer, official pool, website etc) We will be keeping the domain name but will change the nameservers to ones you control so you can manage the DNS, you cannot have the site theme as that was a paid for theme. Organise yourselves here and PM me for access details, after a week all the data will be removed from our servers.
We will no longer be releasing our exchange for KDC, we will release it as a normal alt exchange.
Please take a step back and look at the alt market and you'll see many coins have dropped, the ones surviving are mostly these ridiculous country drop coins with heavy pre mines. Have you taken a look at the price of BTC recently.

Yes, we have not put any btc/money towards new york because we can't afford to, we're already paying over £200 a month in server costs and have over costs to foot because we did not pre mine. Im not complaining about those costs but it is unfair to highlight we have not put btc towards nyc.

Good news - processed all KDC withdrawal requests that were stuck because the confirmation email never arrived after the SMTP server went offline.
There may be more stuck withdrawals due to forks and coindaemon errors on confirmation, but we are handling those ASAP.

because it's just another shitcoin, without innovations, and lazy devs to top it all
I'll give you that KDC is just a fork of LTC and there aren't any 'innovations' in the code itself - though there aren't really any innovative coins aside from primecoin, bitcoin, litecoin. Megacoin implemented kimotos and then we were one of the first 'new alts' to take this on, we were also one of the first new alts to successfully fork and use the litecoin 0.8 code (many clones are using the insecure 0.6).
We are still working on the exchange mentioned before but have reservations about launching it and security concerns due to the amount of exchanges getting taken out by hackers recently - though its not clear if its genuine hacks or exchange owners scamming.
We haven't dumped on you guys, we haven't pre mined, we aren't rich from your investment in this coin, we're paying server bills each month, keeping everything online.
All that aside if you have anything to contribute please let us know, otherwise keep your thoughts to yourself.

I've had withdrawal problems with my account (may have mistyped my e mail address at signup but have no way of checking) since shortly after launch... i went on IRC multiple times, sent multiple pm's but nobody would do anything to fix it. So i've had several thousand KDC and 0.1BTC stuck, well before the withdrawal problems, hack and everything else.

I updated my client but it won't sync anymore... it keeps saying No block source available, 9 weeks behind.
I created the klondike.conf file with the nodes on the first page, but nothing changes

The April 9th official CryptoCurrencyConvention that will take place in New York. This is THE platform for alt-coins to promote and attract investors. KDC must be represented there if we want to be taken serious!
Why you need the help of the community?
Most of the serious alt-coins are represented with speakers. If we are unable to get a delegation for KDC there, this will not reflect good at our professionalism. Coins like RBB, Digibyte, iCoin etc are there. KDC needs to be there too. We have a delegation ready and found a speaker who will represent Klondike. We only miss one thing to make this happen.
As you all know, KDC has a 0% premine. This means we do not have unlimited funds for promotion. Because of this, we rely on you, the KDC community, to make KDC a huge success in the long run.
