Thanks for letting us know Crysx!
I believe Cryptopia will handle this case the right way.

I am curious what is the plan for OZC? Cryptopia tells "OZC will be fully delisted on January 10 2019" (in 5 days), but the wallet is still disabled, and withdrawals not possible. Will all the funds kept on Cryptopia, be lost..?
I understand this is more of a question to Cryptopia, but thought maybe someone have already asked them Smiley

...
3. Dependencies

   * sudo apt-get install python-twisted
   * sudo apt-get install python-pip
   * sudo apt-get install python-pip --fix-missing
   * sudo apt-get install python-socks
   * sudo apt-get install unzip
...

Small addition - this step needs to be added for the "./miner" to start:

Code:
* sudo apt-get install libpython2.7

Otherwise you get "./miner: error while loading shared libraries: libpython2.7.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Also Ctrl+B does not work in tmux by some reason, but that might be my terminal's issue...

Otherwise the instructions are perfect. Thanks a lot!

@pooya87, @tech_solutions:

thanks a lot, I checked the Electrum and I seem to really like it. Many great features, even a command line!

Didn't yet check if it has ability to manually set specific TX fee when doing a transaction, I hope it has it. The default is apparently an automatic TX fee set by wallet based on something... Probably it does it based on current mempool size..., but how could it know how urgent my specific transaction actually is..? I may want to manually specify more (or less) than it offers, as only I may know if its urgent or not...

One additional question - is there a way to disable the automatic address rotating? I mean the behaviour of wallet generating a new address every time I send funds out? I know it is for privacy, but its a bit annoying. Not a deal-breaker, but I would prefer to generate and use a couple of fixed BTC addresses. I may want to refresh them once in a while, but not as often as wallet tries to force me to...

I can't speak highly enough of the Ledger Nano S...
Its looks to be pretty neat device, but paying $90 (on Amazon now) for something of that kind seems to be a bit too much to me. If you have 100+ BTC, then its definitely worth it at current BTC price, but for storing a couple of BTC it could be an overkill Smiley

if you have a question like this, it is best if you create a new topic so people can see and answer quicker rather than bumping an old topic.
Thanks for advise, I will do that way next time!

Folks, sorry for using an old thread (should I better create new one?), but I have question... Smiley

Could someone please recommend me a desktop wallet, which doesn't download the whole 100GB  blockchain to your computer, but still provides the following features:

 - allows backing up your private keys
 - allows signing messages with your addresses
 - has coin control features, so you could see and actually choose coin inputs for outgoing TX

Is there anything like that available for Windows?

Re: [ANN] [XEMP] | [16M coins] | [EmpoCredits] | Backed by EmpoEX | 1 click MNodes.

I was given a connection node by EmpoEx staff in a support ticket... so the coin's still got some life in it. Now to sync and stake.

U were the one who suggested them to reword their promotional tweets in august 2015. They were glad to follow ur advise and rethink the manner of tweeting, but thereafter they called u on skype and told u that they're gonna scam the shit out of those who bought empocredits. U asked them why and they responded that empoex-drone got AIDS and will not be able to continue with the development. Those guys are spanish, and I know where they live. In case u're interested in how it ended, u may wish to know that drone died last week. Ant is the last of empoexers to confirm my words.

You must have me confused with someone else... I've only ever talked to them on IRC back when they had an issue with something. I didn't have Skype installed on a single machine in 2015. Nobody called me on Skype and said "we're gonna scam the shit out of the people who bought our token." Come on man. That's fucking ridiculous.

No matter what, the death of one of the founders is a heavy piece of information to lay down without some backup evidence or someone who can corroborate. If you're trolling it's a pretty skill-less way to do it. It would be really good for Ant or Drone to revisit this thread and lay some information down, but to my knowledge, since the sale of Empo to another party, they are only involved in the exchange as advisors.

I suppose sulfurtank is just exercising  his literature talents Smiley

On another topic: so Empoex was actually sold? I didn't know. When? To whom it was sold? I supposed it should be managed better after the acquisition, as someone who bought it, should have plans connected with it, right..?

Re: [ANN][CROWDSALE IS ON] NODIO. A first blockchain router | 10% Bonus
by
Korvin

Escrow is must to invest in any crowdsale I avoided this project because it was looking like Ebitz when we go without any safety about our funds. So many people learned lesson from these project to go with another one.

NEVER invest in a ico without ESCROW! NEVER. That's like rule number two right after making sure your wallets are always encrypted and backed up.

I wonder if Etherium initial crowdfunding had an escrow?
Or IOTA? NXT? I believe the answer is NO...

No need to make rules where they do not exist (or at least not that simple). There are so many variables...

NXT was one of the first ico's so that does not count and for the others the devs were not anonymous. Its a big difference. Here you have a noob anon dev asking for btc for an ico without escrow. Its a fucking scam!
_
+1 to this.If Devs are well known,one can overlook escrow absence for escrow is also as good as his reputation and if someone of the same repute is associated with the project,escrow is just a mere formality.
if someone came here with a bought account,begin a ICO,he/she is expected to use escrow

Yes, sure, this is all I wanted to tell: no need to make too simple and bold rules for everyone like "never invest in a ICO without escrow". The reality is more complex than those rules, and also I really do not like when some people come here after failure of the ICO (when it turns to be a scam), and start teaching others like they are prophets and everyone else is an apprentice needing guidance. I don't mean Pumpkinetic specifically, if you look back this thread, there are probably about 5-10 (!!) others who didn't miss their chance to "make a clever face" and "provide a words of wisdom", when nobody needs it anymore  Undecided

Re: [ANN] Returnbit [RBIT] [SCRYPT] [POW]
by

This is a strange coin. The Dev seems to be present and is doing something, but the price is in the toilet (deep there it seems Grin).

Apparently it misses direction - some purpose or idea which could attract real community, not only miners looking to dump.

Handing out free money, with no strings attached puts a lot of pressure on the market.
If anyone has any ideas bring them to light. I have a few, but it would require some community effort, iv mentioned a few in the past. but no one really gave feedback.
There is a lot that can be done with the funds that are piling up (Which I have not touched), There is 4m+ and counting in the trust accumulating more daily. All ideas are welcome.

After some thinking, I think this is what I would suggest.

Prerequisites: you have some funds constantly accumulating, which you want to spend by giving them back to community who is willing participate in some activities...

First of all, you could try to make the coin interesting to participants. The initial idea behind the coin is pretty good, and some people liked it. But it should be with a twist, so folks get some pleasure/fun from doing that. It could have some gambling flavour in, like some deposits get nothing, others get x100 profit, maybe based on TXID or time (microseconds) the investment is done, or just random. Kind of a casino with 60%/40% profit ratio, with profit publicly sent to a "burn" address (another selling point for coin)...

After that works, you could spend the coins by doing some campaigns aimed at spreading the word, so more people participate. Be it twitter campaign, facebook or signature, or just referral (with registration on sites and giving referral links). After you got enough people on the site, you could have a faucet with bigger payouts, but which needs to solve a puzzle and, most importantly - shows some ads, so you could earn something too...

A lot of work, I know Smiley. And you never know if this will work out. That's why I don't do that, and don't run cryptocurrency. But you did already, so... why not? Smiley

Re: [ANN] ❄❄ SNOW FLAKES ❄❄ BOUNTIES + BURN ❄❄ AIRDROPS SOON ❄❄
by

This is after all the burned coins (shown by http://explorer.snowflakes.tech/ledger.php):

Money Supply: 50,008,198.10693234
Premine wallet (SVzGhZAkgsqB8nqyofmuq6oKjSPqkgDK1b): 49,050,000.00000000

98% of supply belongs to Dev. Regardless of how much Dev burns, he will still have the majority of supply in his hands.

The remaining 2% is either burned coins or sent as bounty. Miners have practically nothing. And the block reward will leave them with nothing forever...

Plain and simple - what's the point in mining this?  Huh

Ok, I went ahead and started to fill the request form at Coinmarketcap.
Stuck on this question: "Please provide a URL of the coin's official logo: "

What is the official logo? Is there such thing here? I see different pics used in different places (BE, website, OP all have different pictures).
Will any picture of a roll do?  Grin

i  ment second, (the static blabla bla) i know the lines and i thought you would have trick to overwrite  them on the fly,
Thank you
Matthias

No trick, you have to recompile the sources Smiley

But there are coins which implemented this in their RPC calls. If I remember correctly, PayCon has something like "setstakesplitthreshold" command you could run in the debug window if you use QT wallet, or from command line if you run daemon.

Actually that's an interesting idea. I can implement this as a command-line parameter / config file parameter - that should be pretty easy. Just not sure whether this is really needed for XEMP Smiley

no but a deveoper as maintainer is needed, you sound like one,
any interest?

Have fun
Matthias

Thanks for the offer, Matthias Smiley
I am indeed a C/C++ developer (at least I worked in different related positions for the last 20 years), but my expertise is in very different field, which has no relation to crypto at all. So I suppose I am not the one whom you really need here.
And.. the main part - you know better than anyone else, what altcoin support could mean for a truly responsible person... Deep involvement in any coins' development is something out of my plans currently.

I like your style though Smiley
