Re: Bitcoin is way down today

Do you know how to protect your cryptocurrency from whale ‘rinse and repeat’ trades?

It is down today, but still very much up for this year.
Relax and don't always watch the price fluctuate...

You cannot "protect" yourself from whales who sell 1000's of BTC in an instant (unless you have deep pockets and can buy 1000's of BTC).
As mentioned, don't try to play their game because you can only loose. Most important is the technology of BTC keeps evolving and this has triggered company's to also invest and understand BTC!

Good luck!

Re: [2019-07-07] New ECB Boss Christine Lagarde Made A Serious Bitcoin Warning
by

A new article from Forbes is implying that ECB policy may change and may favor Bitcoin. Could that happen really, or is it just speculation and wishful thinking?

Quote
Earlier this year, Christine Lagarde, who has just been nominated to replace Mario Draghi as president of the European Central Bank (ECB), warned that cryptocurrencies are "shaking the system"—something that could signal a change in the ECB's approach to bitcoin and crypto and potentially spur adoption.

Very interesting indeed, it is off course unsure if she favors uncentralized of centralized cryptocurrency options.
In any case this seems positive news for BTC adoption!

There is also some news on this on newsbtc.com:

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Okay, we have started contacting everyone for their TXID for the notes and order numbers.

Loading procedure

Step 1: If you haven't done so yet, please send BTC to the following address for loading: 3N36sCJXN1iQEzjJm7uhXBCZc2g56SppJ2

0.005 BTC plus transfer fees. We cannot give an exact figure of how they will be. So to simplify things, we only expect see the full 0.005 BTC in the wallet (so only cover the first fee to get it to us).

We are offering to cover the second fee to load as part the cost of the note.

Step 2: Then please send us the TXID and your order number.

You will also need to choose if your want the notes loaded before shipping (at your own risk) or when they are in your possession.
US residents can only have their notes loaded once they confirm their arrival.

Step 3: Once you received your note, please let us know.

Script Notes

Regarding the scrip notes; since they were not working correctly at the time of launch... we want to offer everyone who attempted to spend them yesterday retroactive use.

Even if you have placed an order through PayPal, we will refund you the difference if you present valid and peeled scrip note codes + SN.

I apologise for the confusion and mess this has caused. But we will do everything we can do make it right.

Thank you,

I send you the txid via mail!

Looking forward receiving the note!

I just purchased one of them, do I need to send 0.005BTC + fees to 3N36sCJXN1iQEzjJm7uhXBCZc2g56SppJ2?
How will you know which customer paid and which not?

Sorry maybe for the dumb question...

Krikke

There are no dumb questions:) Most likely email your order number and txid of the .005 bitcoin transaction to the return email address of the order confirmation you got from Polymerbit. Save the txid so you can prove you sent the btc as requested. That should do it.

Thank you the info, but just to clarify:

Cannot anyone see TXIDs, since it is all the same address they have to send to?

E.g. this 0.05BTC with this TXID has not been send by me, but how would they ever know that if I just mail this TXID?

Re: Belgian soccer league - betting picks
by
Krikke
on 10/03/2019, 14:11:07 UTC
Today all the matches are played at the same moment - 6:00 pm GMT+1

My picks for this round.

SV Zulte-Waregem vs Waasland-Beveren - over 3 @ 1.945 - 1 unit

These two team have nothing to win nor loose so I expect a spectacular game with lost of goals.

Oostende vs Gent - draw @ 5.900 - 1 unit

Oostende has been a hard opponent to beat by Gent in recent years, they also switched head trainer this week. I go for draw.

KV Kortrijk vs Anderlecht - Anderlecht win @ 1.622 - 1 unit

Anderlecht has a big win streak against Kortrijk, they also need the win to move to the championship play-off

Good luck!

Yeah, penalty was on the edge of the box but correct, he stuck out his arm... Difficult call for the referee though.
Tuff luck for PSG but united played with a brave heart! Lukaku is a scoring machine... no pretty goals like Ajax yesterday, but nobody cares about that in soccer  Wink

Re: Psychological Technique - Play without Pressure
by

on 04/03/2019, 11:35:03 UTC

 ... snip ,,,

In Poker, you need calm, strategy, experience, "poker face" that's why your strategy to get to table with mindset like "all i have here i can lose" might be useful.

In other games where you play against casino it does't makes any change because none of strategies actually works and all you relay on is pure luck. In fact the best strategy based on mathematics is to enter casino, bet all money on red and go home with 0 or double.

all strategy are the same whether it is based on mathematics or not , those are still not guarantee to work because a gambling is purely based on luck  and not on skills  , strategy , emotions  , or whatsoever   .  theres no difference of playing poker and other casino based games  but what matter the most is your luck  . if your lucky you can won but if not then you can go home empty handed   .
Lol. I disagree with you here. Luck is everything? I don't think so. Experience, strategy and skills are also primary factors along with luck which determine whether you win or lose in the gambling world.

Indeed the world's top poker players are quite good in mathematics, but playing without pressure also requires a physiological training!
Last week the top bridge player was busted into taking testosteron... Although it is not proven that it acts to improve performance, it shows that doping is even there in mental games!

Re: Are we finally in BULL MARKET?

On the "short time scale" in terms of weeks we are still in a bearish market since last years peak.
But if you look at the longer picture we are still rising. If you look at all the developments being made I still believe that the value of bitcoin will rise.!

It will all depends on the ease of use if major adoption is what we aim for. People want an "easy" solution, i.e. a black box, where they don't have to think about safety or complex algorithms. This is for me the key for future value rise in Crypto.

Just my 2 satoshi's  Wink

Cheers to all

Antwerp-Eupen

Antwerp to win first half - 2.059 - 1 bet unit

Antwerp has scored 10 goals at home first half while Eupen has conceded 15 goals in away matches in first half.

Lokeren-Anderlecht

Anderlecht to win - 1.603 - 1 bet unit

Although Anderlecht is not playing its top soccer this year under the new coach they are upping their game. Lokeren is probably going to degrade to second league next year. Also Anderlecht need to win since they are aiming to be in the top-6 in order to qualify for the play-off league (top-6 teams of the season play to win the championship and european tickets for next season)

Looks like someone is really nervous about current bitcoin prices and they want to facilitate shorting bitcoin:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-04/the-next-big-short-hedge-funds-prepare-to-trade-against-bitcoin

We'll see how it goes. We have certainty whales on our side (those of us that are near %100 BTC just want to see it go higher) which will fight the shorts and try to liquidate them. But its clear someone up there wants to short it into oblivion, we'll see who wins. Everyone that has been calling tops for 2017 has been proven wrong thus far, it just keeps going higher. The psychological "collectible" effect of the 21 million limit is very strong and creates a permabull market now that a lot of people are catching up with it. Im on a position where I don't really care if there is a crash, I wouldn't lose money and i know long term we are going higher, would liquidate some of my alts to buy cheaper anyway.

I say this is mostly FUD!
Why should they short when there is so much more to be made on the long side??
Shorters will get rekt!
There will be shorters of course, especially guys who think they are the kings and nothing can stop them.
But there will also be really big players on the buy side. And either way, Bitcoin will learn them a tough lesson. Honeybadger does not care!

But how can they short? They cannot lend coins, they need to buy them before dumping them? And they need to buy tens of thousands and spread them over different exchanges...

No the futures will be cash settled. No real bitcoin needed.

But they need to SELL bitcoin to make cash on the short side?
They cannot sell it before they have it... unless they can lend them like with stocks

I wonder how they will "short" Bitcoin, its not they can lend bitcoins for shorting and buy them back later.
If they want to make a profit with a decreasing Bitcoin price, they first have to have a couple of tens of thousands coins in their possession, which they first have to buy...
