Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option
by

I have a question for you all 1080ti miners. I plan on buying couple gpu (i prefer Nvidia), but it seems to me that rx Vega is much more profitable and even cheaper than 1080ti. What is your opinion?

Vega 56/64 can only be bought as blower cards right now and are good on Eth/dual and Monero/XMR and look to be at best $3 per day

1080ti can be bought in all sorts of configuration and are good for a wide variety of coins and algorithms, some of which can produce $4-6 (or more) even now in this relative downturn.
Not so long ago during peak times I was seeing $16+ per day per card, and maybe those days will return Cheesy

What?
$4-6 today on a single 1080ti?
Which coin/pool is that?

it's True , i start mining today this coin with 3x 1080 TI (2 ASUS OC STRIX and 1 ZOTACK Extreme) the h/r are ~17 - 17.8 MH/s all 3 cards make 55+
I do not find a calculator for this coin, but with a normal calculator and a wallet log, I get the same digits
if the rate persists or increases ... things are not to be underestimated

where are you mining? what pool and what settings? I get every share rejected due to 'to low' difficulty with my 1080TIs.

How profituable to mine?
When its going to https://whattomine.com?

Which miner are you guys using?

Mining around 3000 VUC / day on a rig with 6 1080TI, pushing 470mh/s with the nist5 optimized miner posted in this thread. Thats around 0.00820356 BTC a day.

Re: What is your total hashrate anyway
by

on 01/08/2017, 18:04:57 UTC

Static diff does not work and your vardiff algorithm is buggy, (for digibyte-skein) at least.

setting
Code:
-p d=1.536
works, for a while and sets the difficulty at 1.536 and then vardiff kicks in and changes it.

vardiff keeps increasing the difficulty until the miner submits nothing for a a few minutes. After not submitting shares for a few minutes vardiff drops the difficulty a notch, and I can see 1-2 shares if it gets lucky, and then bumps up difficulty again -> no shares -> lower a notch -> 1-2 shares -> increase -> rinse and repeat.

in 2 hours of mining with same test hardware, the block factory earned 120 DGB while mining pool hub earned 14 DGB, this is fudged up. (Yes, 120 vs 14 it is not a typo)

In the test hardware there is a mix of 1080/1070/1060s and vardiff setting the difficulty to something over 8, even 1080(~1GH) cannot find a share. I'm curious what the vardiff algorithm is targeting for..

Sorry static diff is temporarily disabled due to misuse of some users attacking server.
I'll change some and open it again.

What is your total hashrate anyway? 14 is quite low even considering that PPLNS penalized your shares.

Enabled static diff feature for Digibyte

You can set static diff by setting sd=XXX text at miner's password.
e.g.) sd=8

can someone please check this for skein-DGB, it does not work at all for me

Code:
ccminer-x64 -a skein -o stratum+tcp://hub.miningpoolhub.com:20527 -u xaq.london -p sd=2.048 --scantime 1

Sorry static diff is temporarily disabled due to misuse of some users attacking server.
I'll change some and open it again.

your vardiff algo pushes difficulty too far too soon and stays there for a long time, it is almost unusable without static diificulty for me.

This is a test machine i use to check different algos accross different GPUs. ıt has a 1080, 1070 and 1060 can't remember the exact hash rate now, but something like 1.6GH
18DGB in any case almost unreal, the problem is when the diff is over 8 miner can't find any shares to submit until the difficulty drops back. A very rough difficulty cycle looks something like this
3->6->8->6->7->8->7->8->7->8... And these are not equal time periods, 8 takes quite some time, while lower difficulties gets bumped up very fast as soon as miner starts finding shares. So practically miner submits shares at less than 20% of the total mining time.

I am curious why no1 else complained about this may be it is an issue with ccminer or the mixed cards i use or may be both.

I second that, the vardiff is broken. It has far to high difficulty and the re-targeting time seems to take longer and longer. Its unusable with my 6 GPU rig and the earnings halved. Please give us back static diff with some proper lower boundary so we can mine efficiently.

Re: How in the world can you figure out....

I have a GPU that is acting up, its hashing way less than the others....i can see its not stable in afterburner.....but for the life of me i cannot figure out which one it is. I have 8 of them running

I hope someone out there has run across this issue and can shed some light

meaning is the first one on the board GPU 0 and the next is GPU 1 etcccc... ?

Thanks in advance

Had the same issue million times, its has always been the power supply. PSUs run most efficient if you use 50% of their target output e.g. 800W on a 1600W PSU. If you are in the last 15% between e.g. 1400-1600W and don't have a TITANIUM PSU you will see power surges, drops and unstable continuous power outputs. Splitting GPUs to two PSUs or severely under volting them solved the issue for me.

i did have two workers that were submitting valid shares and they were being excepted at  https://mining-enthusiasts.net/pepe

using cpuminer-multi for a little while.

now the miners seem to be putting in shares but not getting any excepted shares.   i'm not even able to get to the pepe stats page at https://mining-enthusiasts.net now either.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Sorry for that, the submitted shares are save in the DB and will count towards your total - the PepeCoin daemon is not able to validate newly found and submitted blocks. Its an issue we are working on and will be resolved soon. Thanks for your understanding.

i just loaded up ccminer alexis and it killed my pc lol running 2 x 1080s ive been getting 33mhs total. i switched to alexis. it managed to generate 1 line which read 46mhs!!! but then pc crashed and rebooted. assume its ocd my cards too much?

anyway i can dial it down a bit?

cards have been running ccminer 2.0 stock with no issue.

Yeah, most instability is coming from OC, try low and go up until unstable. Then lower again, so you find a sweet spot - memory oc doesn't help with C11. Make sure to have 'Above 4G Decoding' enabled in your bios and put your PCI-E ports to at least Gen2.

One more Q, sorry if I'm getting tiresome Smiley

My Dashboard reports hashrate fine, and shares, but on Balance I have 0 in both confirmed and unconfirmed.

Would those fill in time to my estimated coins per day or I may be doing something wrong ?

Thank you again for all you're support

I'll try and have a look at the Android issue, I'm on iPhone and it works great - so you'll have to be patient. Yes, your unconfirmed balance goes up every time the pool finds a new block. Then everyone gets their shares as unconfirmed balance. The amount you get depends on the computing power you have put into finding the solution. If you look at the last found block, you where the one to find the solution:

User Name    Type.         Round Shares   Round %   Amount
andu2flo.       Credit       18,964               2.06.       0.12365857

You should now have that as an unconfirmed balance. Now the pool and everyone part of the Chaincoin blockchange has to validate the block and the transaction that goes with it. It has to validated 120 time, once that happens the pool pays out the coins to all the people involved finding the block. You can see the block status here: http://mining-enthusiasts.net/index.php?page=statistics&action=round&height=1176431

Another thing is that 'Auto-Payout' has to be enabled by the user, because you can choose what sums you want to receive once your balance is confirmed! You can setup auto payout under 'My Account' / 'Edit Account' / Automatic Payout Threshold.

Just starting using this pool. Waiting to gather a bit of coins and then maybe even donate a bit Smiley

BTW you mentioned ccminer from alexis. I only found his git. Are there any windows precompiled binaries somewhere ?

I've made the best results with Alexis78, here is a link to the one Im using https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ha1zaplqwfzrmd/ccminer-alexis78.zip?dl=0, I've also updated the getting started page with a link to the download for your convenience: http://mining-enthusiasts.net/index.php?page=gettingstarted

I'm getting "stratum refused connection" errors every time. I have checked and double checked that I'm using username.workername and correct password.

All systems running normal here, people are mining and stratum is responding. What's your complete command line?

After going through the logs, I found:

[2017-07-14 06:18:17.630] [DEBUG] [default] - Pool chaincoin Thread 1 Unauthorized newmmz.chain1:XXXXX [111.220.93.213] (XXXXX put there to obfuscate).

Make sure to have the Worker name and password in your ccminer line like so:

Code:
-u newmmz.workername -p password

Hi, newbie here.  I'm trying to mine ChainCoin, but I only found the sgminer and it seems it doesn't like my 3 x 1070 GTX and crap out an error when I tried mining ChainCoin with it.  I see that you seem to say to use ccminer?

Yeah, make sure to update your NVidia drivers to the latest version and remove all overlcocking. Get ccminer alexis78 and get it up and running. Once its running, only increase the core clock in steps of +10 until it gets unstable.

I took that version.  Is this good?  I'm using it now on the pool.  also, I got hashrate of 36MH/s per card (I suppose?)  I have 3 x GTX 1070.
http://github.com/KlausT/ccminer/releases

I see that the accepted shares are at 99.55% on every share, but when I started, it was at 100%, is this good too?

Also, big newbie question, I use to mine only using the NiceHashMiner that was paying every day in BTC and I could then withdraw from the NH wallet.   Now, I created a CHC Wallet using the wallet I downloaded from the chaincoin.org web site.   It's my first time mining in a pool, so how does it work for the payout? I suppose at some point my payout are sent to my CHC wallet ? (what are the fees?).    If I want to exchange my CHC for some BTC later on, or just sell them for USD$, I need proceed how? Smiley   So much newb quesitons.  i just want to payback my rig first as fast as I can (I took a small loan and still have 2k$ to payback on it).

The ccminer version I'd suggest is ccminer-alexis. You're total hashrate is probably around 40 MH/s with 13 MH/s per card. 100% acceptance rate over several hours of mining is quite hard. Sometimes your internet is lagging, or your GPUs need longer to calculate a share and then your result gets rejected. It's normal to not have a 100% acceptance rate, as long as the reject shares rate stays below 10%.

Most of the pools (including this one) pays out in the currency you are mining. Thats why you have to provide a CHC address on signup, so your shares of the block reward can be send there. As the post states the fees are only 0.25% and everything else goes to the miners. Indeed you can exchange your CHC coins to BTC and even USD using an exchange. Google 'Novaexchange' and 'Cryptopia', those are the ones trading with Chaincoin.

Getting ROI (return of investment) for your rig with CHC is currently very possible Smiley

How much is the minimum payout?
And to receive the coins is just like the other cryptos like: mining, send to wallet and than change on a exchange?
(because this coin is something new for me and I saw a video the guy told that to participate you have to buy 1000 tokens, I'm confused sorry =) )

If you want to run a Chaincoin master node (see https://chc.masternodes.pro and http://www.chaincoin.org/how-to-set-up-masternodes/) you need 1000 CHC in a wallet, then you can use that wallet to start a master node.

Normal mining, with minimal payout of 0.1. On registration you input a CHC receiving address from your CHC wallet and then do what you want with it, once you get the payouts.

See: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/chaincoin/#markets

Cryptopia and Novaexchange currently have CHC on their exchange. With the craze around this coin and the HODL movement, I personally think more will follow.

Hope that helps!

We are a team of experienced dev-op engineers that want to bring a secure, scalable and stable multi mining pool to the community with a great single sign on (SSO) frontend. You just register once and then use your account on any of the offered pools - just update your wallet information and get mining!

We bank on coins with tremendous potential in the future and we want to offer a place to mine coins with excellent support from our side and a place where almost all profit goes to the miner - the person who spends all the energy, electricity and hardware cost in the first place!

Mining Enthusiasts is only taking a 0.25% fee on any pool to cover server expenses and everything else goes to our miners!

Of course you can always choose to donate some of your hard earned coins to support our cause! 😇

We have a great scalable system at hand and are ready to discuss improvements based on demand from our miners:

  • More pools in different regions besides Europe
  • Different payout schemes: PPS/PPLNS (we currently run the simple proportional payout system)
  • Support for other altcoins
  • Pool forums

Sign up and start mining as easy as hitting our VarDiff straturm server with your account information!

Thanks for joining us and have fun mining!

Alright,

I've spent the last 5 hours trying to get ccminer to fking work and no matter what i try it does not work.

It opens, i get like 5-15 shares, then it crashes because of cuda func error illegal memory blah blah blah

ANYONE? have the solution for this?

running 6x 1070's and getting sooo frustrated already.

SGminer didn't work for me either, would say "waiting for work from pool" then crash every time

1) Needs latest Nvidia drivers
2) DONT OVERCLOCK

3) Profit

no overclock at all? not even memory?

C11 is a GPU core clock bound algorithm - memory OC wont help. Get the latest drivers and go up with the core clock in steps of +10 until it gets unstable.
