How does one accelerate a transaction if you don't know the TXID (except the non-standard TX listed on SoChain)?

Looks like I'll be waiting a long while... If it ever goes through, maybe it will be like finding a $20 bill in an old jacket pocket.  Only difference is that the $20 may have grown into $100 by the time I find it.

Even if it's lost, there are way worse things in life than losing some money.
