I took a day off on Thursday December 12th and drove up to Tallahassee to the Florida AG's Office. After about an hour lecture and introduction to Crypto for two Investigators and Assistant AG, I then showed them several exchanges and Cryptsy, who was operating inside the State of Florida. Excited wasn't the word, you would have thought it was Christmas in addition to their jaw's dropping when they saw the volume and the amount of unregulated $$$ flowing through Mr. Vernon's site. They were extremely concerned at the potential fraud that was happening and the theory of a possible multimillion dollar ponzi scheme just seemed to materialize out of thin air. While she said they couldn't determine "if anything was indeed amiss, they were certainly going to be talking to Mr. Vernon as well as contacting their Federal counterparts"

What you quite simply have done there is put in your thought and opinions as facts to the Attorney General. Paul Vernon has a solid legal team and legal investors aka Cryptsy Ken.

One may suggest then that your conversation was completely biased and the fact you had to "lecture" someone on the topic gives your argument zero validity.

One may suggest that when the AG finds nothing wrong, that Cryptsy looks at its options for prosecuting you for defamation and harassment.

Yeah I see that it has a lot of interest from China and it has since the beginning pretty much. I mined a metric fuckload of APC during the start and sold them off very easily for what I thought was a hilariously over-valued price, but now I'm kicking myself for having not held onto them, I'd be rolling in BTC right now.

I just didn't see anything special about it at all, so I mined until like the second N-factor change and stopped assuming that the coin would just die since it has no redeeming qualities. And yet for some reason the Chinese are going apeshit over it. I really just don't get it.  Huh

What's even more irritating is that the N-factor calculation rate isn't even publicly posted anywhere, so we have no idea when the next GPU efficiency decreases will be, just when the block reward decreases will be. Additionally, the listed block rewards don't even hold true, as I solo mined several blocks with <100 APC reward during the first 10,000 blocks, which should not even be possible. The documentation for this coin is lacking as well as incorrect in places. It's irritating to me that random coins like this one get so much attention and price pumping for no reason while coins that actually have innovative qualities are shunted to the side.

They are fixed now, thanks for letting me know. The original specs which were slightly different where changed in a later build.

This coin uses another miner, look in the first post. Also today a stratum-compatible cpuminer was released:

@ Dayguyian;

I hit the 5 Mh/s before, but now only about 1 Mh/s (or 1.1). It think it has to do something with that 'N-factor', unfortunatelly. It were lucrative times for me Smiley

Gotcha... I was starting to assume that's what it was after researching a bit more. First time mining a scrypt-jane coin, so I didn't quite understand how it worked at first.

It's interesting and compelling to be honest.

BTC-38.com has 3 available for new coins. To help them with their decision we are asking for everyone to help and request being listed on the exchange.

Key points to Applecoin.

The Coin/Client
Fast confirmations- 10 minutes, faster than Litecoin, Bitcoin, Primecoin and many other coins.
Security- Excellent algorithmic protection  of Script-Jane consisting of  SKEIN, BLAKE and SHA.
51% Resistant- Far greater network security with POS implementation to secure the network against 51% attack.
100 Confirmations on mined blocks- Greatly reducing the risk of forked clients.

The community
Possibly the fastest growing alternate coin community. Over 700 members in 2 weeks.
Very active trade forums.
Excellent community support.
Active development.
Services for Applecoins. Many community members are offering services with many being launched or coming online.
International- Our community is broad and rapidly expanding.

I sent 3.1B to Cryptsy in multiple transactions but they never showed up.

Status: 24398 confirmations
Date: 20-11-2013 08:19
To: uzwiH8PMv5S9eTY8z976X3tBQDvwTi5cc
Debit: -99999999.00 COL
Transaction fee: -0.001 COL
Net amount: -99999999.001 COL
Transaction ID: e34f375d882bd188b05414d2b71e8c7a54b71e47e589e65c58e7f53f53da2341

What do you read from this people? Should they have come trough? The address is my deposit address at Cryptsy, is still valid.

I have passed on the new client to Cryptsy and the addnode. It seems their client was stalled. Hope they update soon. Apparently they had a lot of tickets.
