Maybe a noob question, but it seems that BBQ is quite profitable at the moment, why is Cows not mining it at all?

LTC is at $27   Is it not a no brain'er that right now it is MUCH more profitable to mine LTC then mine on HashCow???

Might be better, LTC is no joke ATM. The cows be sad if anyone leaves but we understand! Smiley

Just think of all the money you have made if you have been keeping you're coins!

Why not add LTC to the mix with a big handicap so it has to be WAY MORE profitable than the rest (like it is now) to get mined.
With the long retarget time that LTC has, it is very likely you will stay on it for a long enough time to find a block.

HashCow are we mining LTC here?  We should be right?    If not, why not?

So what I am trying to figure out and was hoping you all could give me some suggestions of what to play around with on the settings is this..

To me with the current suggested settings for Bitstamp the Bot is buying and selling at "small" swings compared to what the Price of Bitcoins are..

Meaning like this..

Bot buys at $799

Bitcoin goes up to $960

Bitcoin comes down to $918 and Bot sells  (Small Swing..  Should not sell here)

Bot Buys back in at $901  (Small down Turn..  Bot should not have bought here)

Bot Sells again at 920(Small Swing..  Should not sell here)

Etc Etc..

Now that the price of Bitcoin is so high, the Bot is still buying and selling on small % swings like it thinks the price of Bitcoin is still at $90

What settings could I play with to make it where the swings have to be bigger % wise (up and down) to trigger buys and Sells?

EMA isn't perfect, but it does work. It's going to need time to get through the trade losses. I honestly don't suggest letting it dabble with mtgox right now. The market is simply too volatile right now, especially mtgox. I shut off my mtgox trader, but have made profit with btce the past few days. Yes, I have made BTC with btce this past weekend.

I don't suppose you'd share your settings for BTCE over the past few days? I've lost on the last few trades - I'm not complaining, I understand the long term concept and I've read up on EMA etc. but it seems there are a lot of opportunities I could have taken advantage of with some better settings over the last week. Even moving down to 15 mins would have put me in a better position, but everything I've read drums in the idea of not going below 30 mins. Having said that, moving up to 2 hours would mean I'd still be long from about $300 which might actually be preferable!
The EMA numbers seem pretty arbitrary, I can play around with them and get better results in back testing, but I can't predict what's going to happen to the market so I'm generally sticking to safe numbers.
Goomboo's thread gives some nice info on what EMA is and about sticking to the system, but I can't find much info on deciding on your settings.

Since July 2013 when I started using this Bot, I have lost on probably 70% to 80% of my tades it has made for me..   But they have been small loses(% wise)..

Also please come back here and talk about your buy and Hold theory next time BTC drops 70% like it did back in June..   Which it will do again..

While I will be in Cash Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy  Before the 70% Drop and you will still be holding your BTC that will now be worth 70% less...   Nice..

Oh and I(The Bot) will buy again when its down 70% but starts a turn up and buy MANY more BTC at this low price and then ride it back up..

Who is this jbssm clown???  Go away jbssm.  Most of what you have posted makes ZERO sense..

BTW..  I purchased this Bot in July 2013..  Started with $1200 USD of my own money..

As of today I have made right at $6,000 off my $1200 investment..   I have cashed out 1K, 2K, and 1K and my balance as of today is $3,400.

Nuff Said..

Ahahah. You do realize that the price increased 8x since July, don't you? You should have made 9600$ not 6000$ if you just let the BTC quietly alone. LOL

Not if I pulled out 4K profits in cash..  You seem to have issues with basic math skills..

Forgive me Obi Wan. So... 1K+2K+1K+3400 is much, much, muchhhh higher than 9600$
How couldn't I see that you where absolutely correct.

P.S. - Please use correct gramar next time. You said: "As of today I have made right at $6,000 off my $1200 investment". So it means that you made 6000$, but seems like you actually made 7400$ (I don't really see how you made this maths but your genius head surely has a way to do it). In any case you are right, your 7400$ are obviously higher than the 9600$ you would have made if you just din't use the bot.

P.P.S: Please let me have the 9600$ - 7400$ next time, since in your head you don't realize that's a number.

I guess you missed the part where I said I started with $1200 of my own money?Huh  Please learn some math skill before posting and proving you have no clue what your talking about..

All these Exchanges and Wallets keep screwing us in the Arss..

From Mt Gox, to BitStamp, to now Coinbase...  They all now say..   Withdrawals will be delayed..

BULL CRAP..

If they cant take the heat, get out of the damn kitchen and go out of business..

And a lot of people on this forum defend them..  I cant figure out for the life of me if they are just shrills that work for these places or just really that dumb???

Try this.  Go to your local back and make a withdrawal of YOUR MONEY... After all it is your money, and see what happens if they tell you Oh we are sorry but withdrawals are delayed and you will get YOUR MONEY in 6 weeks...   Yea right..

I believe these places are pure and simple RIPPING US OFF and as long as this continues Bitcoin will never be NOTHING.

All these places should be put out of business and people should end up in prison.
