You should never trust bitcointalk forum posts.

Most posts are from ESL users who by all accounts appears to have slept through their english class, and will say anything and nothing at the same time to fill this forum with their ad spam.

Such horrible engrish in this post.

OP is a liar.

Need more gambling ad revenuers to comment so I can ignore ya please.

@YenXZ
Thank you for the response.
I do respect humans doing what they need to do to get by. Kudos to you for figuring out a way to get some money!

However, Bitcointalk.org was a great forum for BitNoobs to learn info. Now it is clogged by drivel, lots of useless drivel, which in my eyes is self defeating behavior on advertisers part.

A BitNoob is gonna come here, he may even want to gamble with his Bitcoins, but because the forum is so clogged with shit discussions by advertisers, he can't first learn how to send BTC to the gambling site.

So yeah...   self-defeating behavior.    This forum is losing readership because advertisers are filling the forum with shit. Advertisers are losing revenue because they're driving out the readership. Way to kill your golden goose idiots.

Ad campaign for Bitcoins?
by

on 08/02/2016, 17:10:49 UTC
Is this a good way to generate income or is it a better way to clog a public forum with nonsense commenting?

I'm scared that if I start ad campaigning, I start spewing non-sensical garbage just to try to get a gambling addict to click my ad so I can get a fraction of a coin. Has this happened to you??

Finally, I was thinking about getting a job so that I could support myself and contribute to society, but part of me wants to be a piece of shit and try to get BTC by enticing gambling addicts to click a link on my excessive commenting throughout a forum. Has this happened to you? Are you a piece of shit without anything real to contribute except pure selfishness??

What are your thoughts?  All ad campaigners welcome to comment so that I can ignore you and hopefully sift the wheat (if any remains) from the chaff on this site.

According to what one of the goals of bitcoin should be - decentralize also the wealth, do you think that's happening?

Maybe based on breaking some threashold by price, marked cap or account number ?

I'd do that :-)

Sometimes its best to remain quite and let others think you are an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Gambling addicts go to casinos, not Bitcoin forums. Ad campaign fail.

Everyone with an add campaign tag is now ignored. I will be making a special post asking other readers to do the same. This way all your  mental masturbation ad campaign garbage will be invisible and this public forum which you are abusing for private gain will actually be useful again. Right now its chock full of garbage can opinions from selfish ad campaigners with nothing good to say.

Really I think you could earn more washing dishes at a restaurant and actually, ya know, contribute to society.

A gift to the "Bitcoin Community" paid in the spirit of gratuity for the extreme savings realized.

Zerohedge had a recent article about moving money out of China.
Of 63million Yuan sent, only 8 million arrived outside China.
With Bitcoin, 100% arrived.

I think the tool you are looking for is Reggie Middletons Ultracoin. @reggiemiddleton
he also submits a lot of his work to zerohedge.com

There are two seperate "Ultracoins. One is an alt-coin, ignore this one.  The other is the name of a trading platform that utilizes bitcoin to execute currency pair trades globally; the mastermind behind it is Reggie Middleton.

It's over my head. Proceed at your own risk.

"because market depth of exchanges is not too big."

Another advice: never leave unused money at exchanges, withdraw them immediatelly, if you do not intend some active trading, which is not your goal anyways.

Use a new public address for every transaction in which you receive bitcoin.
I like Electrum for cold storage.

The solution to this "problem" could not be simpler.
We need more free pools.
Why is Eligius, with its difficult to comprehend CPPSRB payout system the only free alternative to free GHASH??

Simply make a free pool that is simpler to understand than Eligius and BAM...  problem solved.

GHASH interface  is cleaner than Eligius, and its payout scheme is easier to understand than Eligius'.

Shit Eligius pays out 105% NMC because many people can't even sign a transaction to get their share from the pool.

LukeJr and WK are smart and they're not lowering their standards to accommodate anyone.

What really sucks is that people like the OP here are sitting around complaining rather than pro-actively setting up a free pool to compete against GHASH.

I would suggest you wait until you know the answer for yourself, to convert your fiat money into btc.

To me, your question suggests you do not understand bitcoin yet.
From which I further deduce and assume that you probably wouldn't know how to safe guard them against loss.

I suggest you read this;

Note the date it was written.

Read that and you won't need to ask whether bitcoin will be "myspace".

And for when you finally have the answer for yourself....

Welcome to the fold & HODL!!!

Re: My email to Coindesk.com regarding censorship/comments policy
by

I have questions about Marks role in the Gox debacle. I think we all do. That's what my first comment essentially asked; "Do we know yet what happened at Gox?"

As to your comment; I hate the fraudulent fractional reserve banking system, operated by the criminal private Federal Reserve Bank with their government awarded monopoly on money creation. They are parasites and they enable parasites.

But why did coindesk censor my comment about alternatives to using exhanges like Gox, yet slander, libel, and trolling wasn't? I was engaging another user and they deleted, without explanation, my comment. I don't understand how my comment went against the comments policy.
And I further don't understand why a comment that is obviously against their policy was not deleted.

WTF coindesk censor? Whoever you are.

My email to Coindesk.com regarding censorship/comments policy
by
LAMarcellus
on 21/06/2014, 14:59:52 UTC
On this article;
http://www.coindesk.com/mt-gox-victims-angered-mark-karpeles-twitter-return/

My first comment;

"Has the investigation revealed any criminal elements?
Or was it Caveat Emptor for Gox users, who misplaced their trust?
Will there be any recourse??

Erik Voorheis in his "Bitcoin A Libertarian Introduction" warned us about letting anyone else hold our private keys. This written warning was issued in April 2012. If you havent read it yet I highly suggest it. All very relevant still except the section on purchasing BTC. That's changed a bit since April 2012.

I know it's painful to lose money. My condolences to those who used Mt. Gox."

A reply from another reader;
"Well, your grandma doesn't know what private key is. She better to entrust her bitcoin to you. Otherwise she may lost their bitcoin because she doesn't have any backup while she lost her phone or someone stole her bitcoin by offering fancy games installed on her laptop. And you can make some money by becoming “Trustee”

Just make sure that you are:

• Trusted
• Reliable
• Insured
• Know what private key is and how to secure it"

My response/comment which was censored;
"I've helped numerous people get into BTC.

We use localbitcoins.com and electrum wallet.
I charge 3% of the total (in btc) plus gas if I have to drive.

Not one person who I've helped purchase btc has lost any.
I like to think I am trustworthy but I am all too human...

What scares me is that I know there are things I don't know.
Is Electrum as secure as I believe it to be?
Will there be a bitcoin 2.0 making btc 1.0 worthless?
Is having my associates pay a premium on localbitcoins.com to avoid "verified accounts" on the exchanges the best strategy??
Privacy>Maximum btc???

My grandparents are all dead...
But I know plenty of grandparents who are computer literate.

With Liberty (financial for now) comes responsibility. Part of my helping
people get into BTC is to bring to their attention awesome websites like
coindesk and informative articles like the one Erik wrote. I don't just throw them to the wolves."

I would like to know how this comment was in violation of the comment policy. Why was this comment deleted??

The comments policy states;

"

    Constant trolling of others to get into arguments will be noticed. The appropriate action will be taken.
    Any potentially libellous posting or comments in breach of copyright will be deleted.

And yet this comment by username d3rrl is allowed to stay;

"You mean Erik Voorheis the con man? yes, lets take more advice from him!"

And some responses to this comment;

"Everything this guy says (d3rrl) must be disregarded. He's a troll (period)!"

"Why did you call Erik V. a con man? The guy is as strait as they come."

"I am not aware of Erik being involved in any cons. Got a link to verify this libel??
Either way, the article I referenced above is not diminished by the allegations you raise.
Have you read it?"

So why was my respectful, thoughtful comment censored, meanwhile the obvious troll spewing libel stands?

I'm getting tired of this seemingly nonsensical censorship policy. It is plainly obvious I am not writing the libel or trolling. I am writing appropriate comments that are on point; comments which contribute to the discussion rather than ruin it. I would appreciate an explanation as to why my comment was censored yet the obvious trolling libel is not censored.

Re: Critique of the "borrowing from the future" meme
by
LAMarcellus
on 20/06/2014, 22:35:31 UTC
"The problem with what is going on now with the debt, is not that unborn people will have to pay it through taxes in the future. The problem is that the debt, the money printing, the cronyism and the spoils distort the economy severely by canceling the price signals that should govern the spending and capital building, the interest rate being the most important price signal. The capital being built now does not have the right size and structure to best serve the future. And of course the prospect of a painful correction, and a few other things."

I completely agree with the quoted paragraph.

"Since money have no intrinsic value, the size of the debt in total is not equal to actual goods or services produced and consumed."
 This line seems problematic to me. Lacking intrinsic value, money is "backed" by everything that can be produced and consumed. Isn't the conclusion then that debt is always exactly equal to the sum of actual goods and services produced and consumed??

Either way thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

For now, the interface between the fiat and btc world is clunky but there are plenty of countries around the world with their own exchanges. I'm still trying to work out the best way to pay off a credit card in the US without a local bank account.

Perhaps have a family member or girlfriend cut the check to the credit card company and you give them cash.

Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism?
by
LAMarcellus
on 04/06/2014, 14:28:31 UTC
Governments can do nothing except exacerbate the problem, usually by equalizing the pain shared.

In a free economy, all economic actors can improve there lives thru serving other humans (work) and either saving or spending their just reward(money). Poor people will be around though, either because of unfortunate circumstances which are a part of life and can be mitigated in several LOCAL ways, or they choose to remain poor.

Central planning has never in human history worked to alleviate poverty, despite the siren call of its pseudo intellectual explanations.

Liberty and a free market are the supreme organizing principles under which the most humans are happy and wealth is maximally equitably distributed.

In the US we have highly controlled and regulated markets, gov enforced centrally planned price fixing abounds. It is a difficult environment for entrepreneurs to make sensible financial decisions in. Everyone is speculating. We have an Oligarchy and a Corporatocracy which force organizing upon us. Many Americans are suffering. 90 million not in the labor force, labor participation rate at 1968 levels, 50+ millions Americans on food stamps, this level of dependency I suggest is simply impossible to devolve to under a free market...   Tent cities, municipal bankrupcties, Military Industrial Complex thriving, hypocrisy from bureaucrats galore.

All enabled by the Federal Reserve Banking system and the corrupted counterfeited Federal Reserve Bank note. Money is the lifeblood of a complex economy. Money enables the division of labor and escape from barter. For the 3rd time in American History a central bank has been granted a monopoly, the government grew to be a leviathan, and the people suffered under a cancerous lecherous power-hungry government. Our money is corrupted by government awarded monopoly. We don't need bureaucrat provided "solution" to government caused problems. As we read in Road to Serfdom, no matter how well intentioned, central planners just cant account for all market forces and so thus can never provide as efficient a solution as the free market can.

Government is not logic and reason, it is force and coercion. Is that the guiding light we should follow to reach Utopia? Force and Coercion??

Edit:   The proper role of government is to protect private property rights, and the minority from the majority.
