as I said on an earlier post I like the smooth way Coinex runs and its clean design from a user point of view. I also appreciate the way that deposits and withdrawals process quickly certainly in comparison to Craptsy.
There remains much goodwill towards the site and I believe a lot of people with greater IT skill than I could help you design much higher levels of security in to the system.
For me and others the Crypto community is about not being regulated and not being in the pockets of untrustworthy banksters, regulators and politicians.
The crypto movement needs Coinex to come back up.
We need you not to be a fraud.
After that we all need to work on security so that the press barons can't keep painting a fearful picture of us to the general populous so that adoption is suppressed.
Please shout out for help. You will get it.

I expect them to come back, I have over 10 BTC worth in there.
If they come, that is great, we keep going along the way. If they don't, then some of us already know who they are, we can do what is required. With the rest of my money, I will run after them and do whatever is necessary... Even if it goes to finding them myself...

People are really angry about this. And I think it's not just about losing their own cash. It's about another selfish knob giving ammunition to the media and authorities that Cryptos = criminal.
That said if CoinEx doesn't come back up then feel free to feed this guy to a Russian Gimp..
The fact that they put the site offline is prove that they do care about security. If there is something wrong it provides that further fraud is stoped. But they do need to give us more information. A simple twitter post is not enough.

The site actually ran really well. Coinex to me seemed well designed from a user point of view at least. It's all very disappointing. Sick of feeling like I shouldn't trust anyone.

So what is the hype about block halving all about? Is that supposed to make price rise? I've been mining coins that have halved in the past and all it did was make the diff go down because it was no longer profitable and people stopped mining. Price stayed the same or even fell. I would like to understand this better.
Can do, it's happened either way to me. Part of the unexpected fun that is crypto trading. With any other commodity if you halve the supply then we know what would happen.. but here .. who knows.

I imagine it was based on a projection made a couple months ago when the site was made rather than a look at the actual block chain
It was only changed a few days ago as the original projection was that halving had occured 3 days ago..
only 40 to go now..

So am I with my 3 gpu mining rig on free elecy at uni
Have mined LOTTO for 2 months with it and solved/found 182 blocks so far which I'm quite chuffed about.
It would be sad for me if in 6 hours time if the price stays where it is, as with the reward halving I'll need to consider mining something else that gives a better return. LOTTO is good to mine. The random and bonus rewards are fun and it has never really been affected through good original design, unlike many others coins, by Multipools switching hashpower to mess with the block timings by affecting the difficulty. With it retargetting every block this has meant that mining it is largely fair for all. I don't want to see LOTTO fail - it really does have potential

i really hope all of u are right about this. Im holding on to a good bit of coin that I would normally be selling now.
There are no guarantees with cryptos but I made 80% on the recent DOGE halving if that's anything to go by.
If demand holds up and supply halves there can be only one price response. This of course may be short term as DOGE shows (weeks later the price is below where it was before the halving)
The best bet for short term holders like yourself is that this event is as good excuse as any for a price pump.
