Bitcoin Halving 2024
by

Every 210,000 blocks, the block reward for the miner is halved. A block is found about every 10 minutes, from this you can roughly calculate when the halving takes place. As of now it is less than 1 year. There are different countdowns, but April 2024 is likely. The last halving was in May 2020. The block reward was then halved from 12.5 to 6.25 Bitcoin. The upcoming reward will then be reduced from 6.25 to 3.125 bitcoin.

An idea for a new guessing game: guess the date and time of the first block of the halving.

Most signal groups are not reliable

There are several crypto signal groups that offered me to join there group but as a Newbie I'm actually scared of going into something I have no knowledge of and also considering how everyone is claiming to no almost everything about Bitcoin trading which actually they did not.

As such so many persons has loss money because of Crypto signal groups, were as they put almost all their money thinking the signal is a sure one, little did they know they were making a terrible mistake. I think the best way is to acquire the knowledge and experience needed before trading as such even if you are to join a signal group you will be able to tell if actually the signal is good or not. So I prefer learning to be more experience before joining any any crypto groups.

Though I believe there are some good signal groups that offers quality signals but as trading is concern market will not always move at your expectation sometimes you loss and sometimes you make more, but profit percentage should be higher, that's what makes you a good trader.

So what do you guys think, let's share knowledge.

Re: What if salaries were paid in BTC

A friend of mine in our discussion today about Bitcoin was insisting that salaries and wages be paid in Bitcoin in some countries.
I was of the opinion that the government will not allow fiat to be replaced by Bitcoin .so what is your take on this will it be a positive move on the Bitcoin ecosystem or not

The idea seem nice but I don't think it will be possible considering the fact that not everyone in the country have knowledge about Bitcoin and how it works and secondly most persons barely knows how to operate the internet very well let alone managing a Bitcoin account, that means hackers will deal with people mercilessly, also considering the gas fee of sending Bitcoin to millions of people as a payment is very high so there is no way any employer will consent to using Bitcoin as a means of payment, so to me is not a welcome idea considering those fact

Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn.

The essence of this topic is not to discourage anyone from doing the right thing especially the newbies but just to advise them on some certain things which they have failed to understand. It is not right to see a newbie account with 2 activity and zero merit advising people in the forum on the right investment to choose while investing in bitcoin especially when making the first post here. Even though you have knowledge of cryptocurrency before finding your way to the forum I think you ought to follow the due process by learning more about the things of the forum instead of teaching things you no nothing about, the forum is a place of learning no one is forcing you to teach things you don't have ideas of so don't worry about wanting to be noticed rather strive to learn faster so you can be noticed when you come out with your quality post.

I decided not to include links to some funny post of some newbies because some of them will take it as an insult instead of a motivation and I am open for any correction if I have gone too far trying to encourage them.

I totally agree with you OP, I see no reason why a newbie can be teaching people that has been in the system for long and you just came in and starting teaching everyone about cryptocurrency, I'm not disputing the fact that most newbies does not have ideas about cryptocurrency but there are somethings that are expected of you as a newbie to do such as learning how forum works and following the higher Rank to be knowledgeable instead of lecturing, for me I'm here to learn, to know how the forum works and learn from people that knows more better.

Re: How do I avoid and identify scams?

Am not much familiar with cryptocurrency, and that's why I need more guidance so that if eventual I see one, I will know how to handle it, this will help me to have a good knowledge on the path to settle for.

Don't expect someone to come here and tells you this is the coin or crypto project to invest on and this one is to be avoided, things aren't done in such manners, you have to engage on making research about them and take the risk after you would have been satisfied enough with your findings about them, there are few additional information i will like to let you know are needed when searching for a crypto coin for an investment.

1. Run a background check on the people behind the coin or project
2. Try to understand their aims and objectives for the project work they developed
3. Try know there liquidity pool, market cap and those major investors of the coin project.
4. Research on their precious projects and success made in recent times on same field.
5. If it appears to be too good to be real then it may just be too bad for an investment.

Well spoken, you have actually stated what should be considered before any investment, I have really learnt a lot from all your advices and opinions concerning this topic, as a newbie I don't really no much about cryptocurrency let alone identify a scam projects but with just reading all the messages here it has sharpened my mentality on how to avoid scam projects.
