Patience is a virtue. If the OP kept his original investment and didnt sell at the dump back in May, he would be extremely happy with his investment right now. Sure, it would've taken 6 months, but its much better to wait then to lose 40% investment. Trust that BTC will go up and face severe losses, but in the end, if you have trust in the blockchain and BTC technology, you will always come out ahead.

When there is a huge drop, it is very scary. However, it is usually always linked to some news concerning bitcoin. It may be very hard to keep buying when the price plummets 10, 20, or even 30% overnight. But that may just be the best time to buy.

When bitcoin goes bananas like it has in the last 24 hours, i usually hold off on buying until the craze dies down and the price stabilizes. Then a correction usually lies nearby and with the volatility that bitcoin entails, a steep correction usually follows a few days after a huge increase in price in the idea of either FUD or investor sell-off and profit taking. Thats when i buy.

It's already past 5200 dollars and its soon going to surpass 6000. Surely, this will be another psychological barrier and a lot of investors will sell. Just buy it when it plummets yet again. Let the volatility of bitcoin play in your favor to pick up coins on the bargain

Bitcoin was 4000 last month trying to hit 5000, and when it did it crashed immediately. Now it has finally broken 5000, and its only been a month later. Its rising at astonishing rates. In 5 years, it will be much much more. But the crashes will be just as scary.

Re: what happens to btc after the last coin has been mine
by

Transaction fees will keep the miners busy once the last bitcoin is mined. But as the block sizing halves, the value of just 1 bitcoin may be worth many times more than what it is today, thus compensating for the decrease in rewards for miners.

Re: What price you expect bitcoin by 30 September?
by

I expect BTC to drop as we near September 30th. Traders have already factored in the fear of ICO banning into the current price, as well as some hesitancy to trust bitcoin as china is setting up new laws and regulations. But I also expect a full recovery and then some right after we finish. My guess is hovering around 3000 the few days before September 30th.

Re: Bitcoin to the moon! No China no more problems.

If China repeals their ban, and activity spikes again in their country, the prices of BTC and amount of trading will skyrocket and lead bitcoin prices much higher! However, if the ban stays in place for quite a while, then I think BTC pricing will rise at a more moderate pace without an initial big jump.

I do believe that bitcoin is changing the world. It definitely has an impact in our news, with more and more influential leaders talking about it. Although some comments may be negative towards bitcoin, it is getting attention since it is meant to be a disruptive technological currency. I think as BTC improves, its benefits will soon outweigh the downsides and risks.

If 21 million people in the world want to have a whole bitcoin, then we're gonna be looking at sky high pricing. Who knows have much a bitcoin will be in the future, or what things you can buy with bitcoin. If it truly does get massly adopted internationally, then you may just get your island Smiley

Re: And now Vietnam to legalize Bitcoin

The more countries that start to accept bitcoin and learn about what it can do for their economies, the more likely bitcoin will become an international currency. It not not too well known, and japan has almost 50% share of all bitcoin trading. United States has only about 13%. The more adoption that takes place internationally, the more well known it will become in the states.

Re: Is Bitcoin and Crypto Currencies the great equalizer?
by

on 17/09/2017, 20:17:41 UTC
What we need is a leader in the field of finance to realize the potential of blockchain technology and of bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. A leader who cares about the growth of the economy and citizens of the world rather than his own personal gain. When institutional leaders start to accept bitcoin and incorporate it into everyday people's lives is when we will see more mass adoption and acceptance. Then bitcoin will be easier to use.

Re: Bitcoin is the invention of the century!

Bitcoin most definitely is not and will not be the invention of the century. Technology is catching up at lightning speed, and every year that passes, a multitude of ingenious ideas are thought of. What bitcoin will be is one of the life changing inventions that mankind has witnessed. The printing press, the assembly line and first automobile, the internet, now blockchain which is a product of the internet and computers. We no longer have to deal with banks, no more middlemen, we can see all the records for any transaction.

Jamie Dimon is a very smart man. He has to be. And smart men know the consequences of their actions and the influence that his words have on markets around the world. He had to know that his negativity on Bitcoin would lead to a price drop. And if he didn't view Bitcoin as a threat, why bother commenting on it, especially with such bitterness that he would fire any banker supporting the coin. He knew what he was doing, and he knew that he was going to make a profit on the dump.

I think bitcoin will go up. No-one knows how high it will go, but the trend will continue to be positive over the long run. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are here to stay.
