Re: Turn $10,000 into 1 Million

Perhaps not exactly "trading", but it just might be one of the shortest time frame investments you'll ever make.  Wink

How about a portfolio competition?

Using today’s price to establish opening position cost basis, the following portfolio has a minimum target of $100,000 (if everything goes wrong) and a maximum (still conservative) target of $1,000,000. (Explaining the reasons why goes beyond the scope of this friendly competition.)

Litecoin (LTC) – 50%
BitShares (BTS) – 10%
STEEM (STEEM) – 10%
Syscoin (SYS) – 10%
Nxt (NXT) – 10%
PIVX (PIVX) – 5%
NEM (XEM) – 5%

We’ll see how it does. Wish me luck!

Full Disclosure: I currently hold many of these issues as “long term” investments (but not all at this exact time since I’m still looking for a better entry on one in particular), and could purchase or sell any, at any time, and/or trade short term as well, with the weighting for this “model” portfolio being somewhat different from my own, where, for example, I am currently overweight LTC, BTS and PIVX.

Edit: Forgot one very small detail at the time: the price of Bitcoin. It's highlighted on the 5 min chart below.

Good luck sir! I have also investment with one of those coin for the long term. I think they have a greatest system to be invested in.

What is bitcoin for you? Is it a chance or a scheme to get rich? Or is it actually to keep your wealth to yourself.
What lead you into bitcoin world and what's keeping you here?

For me, Bitcoin is a new way of facing our world with currencies, the way we pay and handle or money that we don't need to bring it physically.

With the unpredictable changes in bitcoin price people have chose to hold instead of day trading,I mean the majority have.
How risky is day trading at the moment?

Day trading crypto currencies can be so risky because of the spikes of the price regarding they follow the price of Bitcoin, it is better to watch out the price of Bitcoin so that you may have a good way of trading other cryptocurrencies.

What is a decent amount of Bitcoin you should have to make day trading  worth while?

For me, as I trade I put all my money 50% for Bitcoin and the other 50% will be trading for altcoins, but of course I only use 10% per trading different kinds of coins.

Re: Have You Been Scammed?
by
Lancelot04
on 13/12/2017, 06:37:07 UTC
I just came over from the 'Investor Games' subforum (hope I got that right). A guy there said he came across a site asking to double his bitcoin, he paid in $20 and got $40 the following day or so. He then went for a higher plan of $300 hoping to cash out $600 but they asked him to pay in another $300 before cashing out. He got confused and was asking for advice.

I think I've been there before. Before I became a forum member. I once came across one of those scam sites promising to generate bitcoins. Thought it was real, but when they asked me to pay some transaction fee, I was stuck. I had no money to pay the fee. With the benefit of hindsight, I know I'd have sent them the 'transaction fee' had I had the coins to send them.

Now, what have been your experience with internet scams?
How do we help people not to get scammed?

I have scammed several times now by joining some HYIP and that popular site named "MMM", I was happy back then that I got a lot of profit from that, but I took that as a lesson and been wondering in the world of crypto.

Re: ☃☃☃ The .01 Theory ☃☃☃
by
Lancelot04
on 13/12/2017, 03:33:02 UTC
Most people own less than .01 BTC

The fees to sell or transfer this .01 BTC is getting absurdly expensive and will continue to rise. My theory is the fees will become so high that most people will just hold onto their BTC rather than sell. Especially when the cost to send .01BTC cost more than .01BTC. Eventually the addresses holding huge amounts of BTC will start to sell. It will clog the blockchain and fee prices will sky rocket even more. The transfers will take longer and longer to confirm and everything will get "stuck". I believe this will fuel more and more panic selling as everyone tries to cash out at the same time.

What do you think about bitcoin fees and the .01 theory?  Shocked

As you said, it is just a theory. Don't make things more complicated please, people will just get scared and eventually will affect the market.

Which of the Bitcoin wallets between the Online and Offline works best?

I do use an offline and online wallet, it is best that you do not put all your money in just one wallet. I always do diversification.

Re: Facebook & Google creating its own Cryptocurrency!
by

on 11/12/2017, 07:51:24 UTC
Your thoughts on Facebook and Google creating its own Cryptocurrency. I know BTC is the pioneer in cryptocurrencies and currently has the highest value but if this two giant companies will release their own cryptocurrencies I don't think anyone would want miss that. Its not impossible right? Similarly Other companies like twitter & Youtube and even UBER can also dig into cryptocurrencies. If major companies can consider BTC as their main cryptocurrency, BTC value will definitely skyrocket.

Well, that will make the world of cryptocurrencies even greater. I know that they are major companies but somehow I think that they will also adapt Bitcoin as the main cryptocurrency.

What is your Bitcoin End Goal?

Is it to get billionaire by it? Or to use bitcoin for all your transactions one day?
These are just two examples, not the only choices of course.

Share what is your End Goal with bitcoin?

I am aiming for both of those goal, I also plan to put up my own company and businesses from it. I know that Bitcoin will be a great asset in the future.

Can Bitcoin be ban?

They most certainly can, but we can always use VPN's and TOR so we can still use cryptocurrencies without being detected.

Bitcoin prices have risen so dramatically lately.

In this situation, I expect to be able to purchase a bit coin, and I think the price will drop soon.

You can buy anytime today, it is still cheap compared to its price in the future. But I am also waiting for it to drop.

Actually today I watched a video on facebook which is about spending bitcoin and gold in USA,it says it is difficult to spend bitcoin but some places are accepting bitcoins accepting as payment like supermarket, restaurants and some institutions. But no one accepting gold as payment then why still people says gold is better?

Gold is a good currency back then where people are trading it for the things they need, and some are still doing it right now. So maybe people will still does not have a clue about Bitcoin because it's new.

Re: The Bitcoin CRASH is coming!
by
Lancelot04
on 07/12/2017, 05:47:24 UTC
Today is the 7th of December 2017, a remarkable day where the Bitcoin price has gone up and is currently worth over $14,500 USD.

Many altcoins are down in value as holders of these altcoins sell them and buy BTC instead - it sounds so promising, BTC is the future, the rest is not.
However as site owners who pay our members in BTC and also run a Ripple Faucet (Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2436732.0) we have to express our opinion about all this Bitcoin hype. It has now entered into an extremely dangerous territory and let us explain.

Rule of Thumb = World Economy is Based on Trust

The issue with Bitcoin is that currently so many people "invest" in it, in a sort of a "rush train", everyone wants to hold 1 BTC, one of the 21 million BTC out there (Bitcoin is capped at 21 Million BTC). The 21m is not a problem, one dollar in some random country can be worth 1 today, 0.1 tomorrow, 0.001 next day, that's not a problem.

The problem starts when people need to use Bitcoin as form of payment and not only for speculation ... holders of BTC yesterday or today would hesitate in paying with BTC because they worry about price fluctuations - and so is the receiver ... if we get paid $100 from CoinTraffic for ads we placed in our faucet we feel "bad" we get paid in BTC today because yesterday it was worth more.

And this cycle creates a problem of TRUST.

So why Bitcoin goes up?

Bitcoin is going to be traded in several stock exchanges very soon. Those who believe that "sharks" or "whales" wait for the day of opening and then start buying or trading are only fooling themselves.

When Facebook firstly launched itself on the stock market - the stock plunged and plunged and no one could explain it - just like today no one can explain how Bitcoin went up so fast - according to ZeroHedge:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-06/bitcoin-explodes-above-14000-korean-pm-fears-serious-pathological-phenomena

$9000-$10000: 2 days
$10000-$11000: 1 day
$11000-$12000: 6 days
$12,000-$13,000: 17 hours
$13,000-$14,000: 4 hours

It went up from $9000 to $14,500 in less 2 weeks!

Bottom line:

If this doesn't create an issue of trust - then we're all living in a bubble.
The fundamentals of Bitcoin are great, but what we experience nowadays is exactly the opposite, and that's because we're all human beings and we lost trust in each other, we created central banks we don't trust anymore, we created a financial system that we can't trust anymore - and unfortunately Bitcoin is heading towards that territory as well.

PS Just like Steam expect many to consider the stop of using Bitcoin (we might as well) due to price volatility and high fees as these are simply not suitable for many businesses neither.

I'm ready for it. I need to get in now in a lower price. I am still waiting for that to happen. Hope it will happen soon in this month, before I can go relaxing next year.

Re: What if your money was locked into exchanges?
by
Lancelot04
on 07/12/2017, 04:31:12 UTC
I have deposited a lot of ethereum on the exchanges and then i sell it to bitcoin then the problem is i can't withdraw my money because my verification is still ongoing. My question is, what if the verification will locked forever? How will you handle this kind of situation?

Can you please suggest all legit exchanges without bringing or verifying your identity? Thank you in advance.

Of course you can have the support of that exchange to help you with. They wouldn't like that their reputation would be dirty, but you do have to verify your account though. They are just protecting your account.
