Re: Suggestion: Merit Phase 2 - Drain the Swamp (@theymos)
by

The Merit system has been with us for six weeks now and is clearly having some success in reducing the spam. It is now very hard, if not impossible, for account farmers to provide a constant supply of high ranked accounts. This, of course, is good news for any of us who have become tired of finding any interesting content quickly buried under a pile of shitposts.

What this hasn't addressed is the large number of accounts already in the hands of shitposters. Let's be honest about what rank is all about - signatures and the ability to gain income from them. The ability of someone who is already in possession of, for example, a Hero account (or 10) to continue to get paid for every shitpost they tack on the end of a spam megathread has not diminished or been restrained by the Merit system.

Some campaign managers have taken the initiative to make minimum Merit requirements compulsory to join their campaigns but those managers were already the ones with high standards. They were not the problem, it has always been the managers that just blindly accept the first x hundred people to apply and pay them regardless of the spam they produce.

I have noticed that these spammers are very easy to spot now, they are the ones stuck on 100, 250, 500 or whatever merit number they were initially given. They haven't managed to gain one single Merit point in the last 6 weeks.

So to my suggestion:

Amend the forum to hide signatures of any account that hasn't earned at least 1 Merit in the last 2 months.

This will bar them from getting paid to post and not have any negative impact on anyone making even the tiniest contribution to the forum. Nobody loses their rank and even if someone is away from the forum for a while they can quickly get their signature back.

I also agree with this, but I think this will be make new upcoming members will just use their account only for social media campaign or article campaign, because so hard earn merit for newbie account, I just see merits circulated at high rank and newbie rank (second account of user with high rank only) Because I seen they have good post and I'm not believe if they are beginner.
I have seen many beginner tried to do the best, but they not get any merit, so they will not participate at this forum anymore.
I think will be better if there is be more merit source to fix this problem, or make a board for merit.

I also seen so many members use this forum just for social media bounty campaign, and their rank go up just by posting a weekly report, though untill Jr. Member!
And before the merit system exist, I found many members use this tricks, and they got high rank.

Re: MLM lending coin - scammer should be killed?

My friends and their parents have lost a lot of money, even the house for MLM lending coin model. There are many who fall into the trap of being enticed and losing money. They were blameworthy but they were miserable due to their ignorance and paid the price. So what does the price have to pay the scammers? Should there be a death penalty for them?
I don't have a good answer for you at this time, but I'm interested to know more about this problem, can you explain it?
This will be useful for the society's if they know how scamers do this!
thank you

Re: An idea to eliminate shitposters

I think campaign manager have thought it very well before start the signature campaign, they have own rules and requirement to looking for the participants.
and talking about shitposters, I have seen many spreadsheet of signature campaign, there is I found the participants who don't have enough quality post can't be qualify to get the payment or stakes.
Every Good ICO, there we can find good management to manage the project, seem like choose participants for signature campaign. If the management pay shitposters for signature campaign, that's meaning the campaign not good enough, and I think this is a misery for their own project.

GIVE ME SOME ADVICES WHAT SHOULD I DO TO MY BTC .
Hii.. are you need money for some needed near this time? If you need it you can sell your BTC and use it for your needed. If you don't have needed or something urgent near this time, I suggest you to hold it until your losses recovery back.
Because pur main purpose when invest is to get the profit, if we don't get the profit why we sell it? that's so bad idea, except you have something urgent which that should use your BTC.

and when i just post that i want to sell my account the forum admin or moderator will flag on my account very funny idiots admin of this forum and after flag they doing abusing see link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3209931.msg33479220#msg33479220

Selling Account isn't allowed in this forum, I think you should accept it because you break the rules, but I also see many people selling account here but no further handling.
This is the example : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3097999.0

He not just selling account, but he also sell positive trust which indirectly bring the name of DT members, I think that very bad post. That can make members thinking if DT members playing behind the forum.
I hope the punishment at this forum is not sharp to down which only punish weak members here. because we need justice.

Re: Soliciting opinions on how to deal with suspected merit abusers

Oh, that I agree with totally, though I suspect it would be even harder to enforce than account selling (hence why the latter is "discouraged," rather than outright banned).

Perhaps two good rules to consider for filtering out potential merit abusers for red trust are on any merit transactions greater than, say, 10, or when one person gives merit to another more than, say, 5x. The latter rule will likely become less useful as time goes on, however.

I agree with this, If one person give back only one merit to sender that's doesn't mean they trading merit.
Maybe one of members here which have many merit accidentally sent back merit, can we call it trading merit? I think no!
And need real proof if they trading merit, maybe more than some times (maybe 5 times) send each other merits at short term time will be a good proof.

But some peoples still have an concept if bitcoin will be always going up.
They just looking from developing of Bitcoin, when Bitcoin increased untill more than $20K.
And I have seen many article about Bitcoin prediction, and the prediction also says Bitcoin will be always going up.
At this side, many people says if Bitcoin is good for our future, Recommended, Useful and etc

But after this situation, when Bitcoin price dropped so far. Many people says if Bitcoin Bad, Illegal, isn't worth anymore and etc.

I think they should be built their loyalty with Bitcoin. I hope they will learn more about the situation like at this time.
Because so many thing will be influence Crypto price and we never know how it later.

I found so many members misuse merit system at this time, the most problem I have seen is ''trading merit''.
But I need Consideration for this :

Quote
Send Merit Back "For Mutual Benefit"

They use this trick to increase their rank as soon possible, the do merit exchange with another members for mutual benefit, that's like send each other the same amount of merit to make it fair.
I can't give a proof for this, but I'm sure if that thing happen in here

Quote
Send Merit Back "As a thank you/reward to sender"

I also seen like this, they send back merit to sender because want to say thank you or want to give reward to sender. I see many members do this because they don't know and that endanger their self, mainly beginer because they don't know if that is not allowed or they not read the rules

I hope this can be consideration for all staff and DT members here. Because so many members traped with this merit system.

I have browsing About CobinHood, and I'm not find if they charge trading fee, but maybe this can help you!
COBINHOOD collects 5% of the funding raised from the ICO as an underwriting service fee.
You can learn more at this : https://cobinhood.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002483452-How-does-COBINHOOD-earn-revenue-if-we-charge-ZERO-trading-fee-
