Re: Titcoin [TIT] Community thread - Alternative ANN - The cryptocurrency for adults

Hi Gandalf,

I got an email from Cryptopia about 51% attacks. I'll link their explanation below, which was quite enlightening for me.
I'm happy I moved my coins off Cryptopia some months ago, but it made me think about coins with a small marketcap, which TIT and TTC still are. The attackers can simply rent an ASIC computer system and then they control these small coins. As I understand it, this is possible with coins that use the original Bitcoin style Proof of Work. It's not possible with Proof of Stake coins. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
I think it's safer for small coins to not use Proof of Work, to avoid 51% attacks. If a 51% attack happens today, it can happen again anytime. Right?
I'm happy that TTC moved to Proof of Stake and thereby avoided the current attacks. Shouldn't your TIT do the same? Maybe the merger isn't that bad after all..?
Don't you agree?

Here's the link to Cryptopia's explanation, where they explicitly state "This is no problem for popular coins like Bitcoin, but for smaller coins, 51% of hashrate of some types of coins can easily be rented.":
https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_article&sys_id=91fc54cddbfc2b0052d2ef728a961948

I'm interested in your thoughts.
Best regards,

Learnalot.

I just want to give my two cents about this. I'm not a new account, I have never been really active on these boards, but I mined Tittiecoins several years ago.
I am of the opinion that the merger is good. The TTC devs are actively doing stuff. It looks to me like they're doing a lot of things. They moved the old TTC to a new chain that offers privacy, masternodes and staking. It's a PIVX clone, I like that better than an old fashioned bitcoin clone. The TTC devs have made two Tittiecoin games, they are communicating with exchanges about the new TTC 2.0 chain and wallets, they are supporting users with their coin swaps and masternodes. They are working on implementing KYC for American users. Several of the TTC devs are active on their Discord and Telegram.
In short, they are there and they do a lot.
And there's undoubtedly more they do, that I don't know about.
As they are investing so much time, effort and even money (e.g. to do coin swaps from the old wallet to the new they have to rent ASIC processing time), I think they are headed for success.

Compare the above with the TIT dev(s). Of course, the TIT dev could do all of the above, but the fact is, they are not doing so.

So, I wholeheartedly support Tittiecoin and the merger of TIT and TTC.

The brand has been bought and will be merged, Titcoin had no support, no devs, no future, so why is it wrong to purchase a dying coins brand.

As mentioned before, Titcoin has support, devs and future. I have taken the responsibility of creating a follow-up Titcoin ANN thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5018869.0

@Rw13enlib88 You don't need to sell your TIT, just help me to keep Titcoin alive, everything will be fine. I will migrate the Titcoin client to a more recent codebase as soon as I have time for it, and release new binaries. A cryptocurrency cannot be "acquired" or force-merged, even if the folks here continue to claim so.  Wink  We just need to rebuild a community for Titcoin which admittedly is pretty small atm.

Oh and Joy Toilet did not "buy" Titcoin, they were chosen as the follow-up developers by the original team. They got access to the social media accounts, but that doesn't mean that they "own" the coin. A cryptocurrency cannot be owned, period.

ok,
are you gonna create new social media, thread and website for it?
I cann't believe all this newbie accounts (which probably is the same person) telling it's been adquiered.
Learn something about cryptos noobs!

A big thanks to the devs!

Re: MOBILINK PRESS RELEASE - ICO STARTS IN JANUARY

According to your message (quoted below) the price of one Mobilink-Coin is currently, during the Private Sale, $0.05 USD (= $10 Million USD / 200 Million Coins).

The website says "MOBI coins purchased will be calculated based on 1 MOBI = $0.10 USD", and I will get a 33% bonus if I invest more than $3000. That makes $0.075 USD for 1 Mobilink-Coin:
$3000 / (3000 * 10 * 133% coins) = $0.075 / coin.

I'd like to invest, but I prefer to pay 5 cents a coin. How can I get the $0.05 price?

(BTW, I suppose you meant USD i.s.o. USO, right? If not, what's a USO?)

• Private Sale: Raise $10 Million USO, 200 Million Mobilink-Coins
• Pre-ICO Sale: Raise $36 Million USO, 600 Million Mobilink-Coins
• ICO Sale 1st Round: $96 Million USO, 1.12 Billion Mobilink-Coins
• ICO Sale 2nd Round: $98 Million USO, 1.18 Billion Mobilink-Coins

Your project looks really great and I hope you will realize it. Are the users required to install the app, or can I use the SIM card without installing any software? Many users are not interested in the MOBI coin, so they don't need a wallet, but they would love to call and use the web for free.

... if we won’t sell 95% of the crowd sale supply, we will burn 95% of the foundation’s tokens.

What about the 100 million Ecosystem tokens? Will you burn the same percentage of those as well?

Another question is: who knows the tune's symmetric key and is able to encrypt it for new purchasers? Will the publisher have to run a node that does this for new customers?

Good question. I'd like to know as well.

Another question: Can the purchase price of a song be changed after publication?

if unsold tokens are burned from 900mill, team will still keep 600mill tokens? or will it be decreased as well?

Yes I also wanted to know the same thing, if ever the 900M tokens will not be sold out and since currently as I saw your site the tokens sold now is around 30M which is only 3% of the tokens, how do you go about this? I haven't seen the soft cap also on your site which got me asking if it will be decreased or what.
The rest of unsold tokens will be definitely burned, and 95% from the 700M tokens will be locked for 1 year.

The few sold crowdfunding coins are worthless if almost one billion of coin a hold backhand. Opus should develop a solution for the token distribution. I guess no big investor will take part in the crowdfunding at the moment.
if their is no big investors is invest in OPUS then how they sell more then 30 mil coin
i think this ICO will be end up with success for sure
and yes in the end of ICO the remaining coins will be burn i have seen it in the road map
you guys should check out the roadmap on OPUS official website
my all support with OPUS team and surely OPUS team will be successful.

The unsold coins from the crowdfunding are going to be burned. The coins for the team etc won't get burned. So lets assume the crowdfunding ends with 50 Million sold tokens. Then only 50 Million from 750 Million existing tokens are circulating. The rest is in the hands of the foundation. This means either the token is worthless or the OPUS team are billionaires. Think twice which option is more realistic.

They seem to have removed from their website the number of tokens sold. The Chinese version of the page still lists a number: "21942279 OPT".

Seems fishy. I would not recommend taking part in the crowdfunding until this problem is discussed and solution offered by the devs.

EDIT: I checked it myself. The sold tokens number is still there: 33184739 tokens sold

Good, it's back. (33216673 tokens sold now)

I read the whitepaper and I'm wondering about a few things:

Once you put a song on Opus, it can never be removed, right? Can an entry be removed from the UMRN database?

Can the song price be changed? If yes, can only the artist/owner/uploader do that or can Opus too?

Can the artist remove her own songs? Or can the artist disable her own song using another, new smart contract?

I don't get it. You're trying to sell 900 million tokens during the crowd sale, right? You've sold 28 million until now. That's 3%. It seems you won't sell all 900 million before the sale ends. What will happen to the remaining tokens after the crowd sale? Will there be another crowd sale?
