Side Note: Can anyone recommend an escrow service that they have used recently? I haven't traded here in awhile.

After discovering how expensive it is to ship to the UK, I'm forced to limit shipping to US/Canada.

I have decided to sell my mining rigs because I'm finishing school and I need funds to ease the transition phase. So, I no longer have the space or time for the equipment. All of this equipment was run in a controlled air-conditioned environment and the GPUs would never exceed 60 degrees Celsius (Mostly 47-55). I can't think of the exact settings for every card, but I know all of the 5850s were run at 820-825mhz Core, 150mhz Mem, and 1.000v. I am open to a trade for a 79xx series GPU, but I only want one.

Edit: Shipping to US/Canada Only

-Everything comes with the original packaging, except for the 5870s (I got them that way from rjk). Everything was bought brand new online less than a year ago, except for the GPUs(they were all bought on the forum)

- I will not operate outside of escrow through a trusted forum member. BTC Only. All prices are to be decided based on Mt. Gox 24h Weighted Avg at the time of the transaction.

- I will assess offers over the weekend and start shipping Monday with Tracking/DCN (You pay all shipping fees).

- I can provide pictures upon request of anything except the 5870s (until tomorrow, they are currently being stored at my Grandparents house.)

- All Item prices are per item and have individual shipping costs included. I will give discounts on shipping and preference to larger orders.

Radeon HD5870 Screw sizes
by
Leezyist
on 18/07/2012, 16:56:42 UTC
I just recently acquired some Radeon HD 5870s that need to put reassembled. I've went all around town trying to find the correct screws but no one has them. I don't even know exactly what size screw it is, but it is the smaller of the two screws used to secure the shroud to the backplate and the shroud to the heatsink assembly on the 5870. I believe it is the same screw that is used to secure the fans to the heatsink assembly. I don't have pictures right now, but I can take some in a few hours. I've went to every hardware store around town: Home depot, Ace, Fastenal, Electronic stores, and no one has it. I tried to message AMD directly about the issue, hoping to get a name/size/spec on the screw, so that I could order them online or call around town to try to find them, but they responded with, "We're sorry that is proprietary information."

I'm currently at a loss as to what to do, has anyone else experienced this problem or something similar?

OK, payment received from Leezyist - http://blockchain.info/tx-index/11536624/1f0bfe2b7cccd07e5d06b0ba3232ac0ab415a8253d7ca667f6bce5ffe0cb2d0d

Actually since the exchange rate has gone up, I'll be refunding 4 pretty soon.

rjk is an excellent guy and anyone doing business with him should have no worries of nothing else but a smooth transaction.

Re: Watt usage of an undervolted 5850?
by

Ambient temp is about 36-39C so its normal for me (window is about 1.5M above the rig), and yes the cards are not using risers. I can lower temps a little bit if I use 150 mem but the 5970 (using a riser and above the 5850s) is not okay with anything lower than 300 mem. Underclocking/undervolting are all done via CGMiner (except the 6870). Using a desk fan to blow air over the rig will only decrease the efficiency. My cards are more than 2 yrs old now, used them for BOINC before I got into Bitcoin. Coolers, fans, TIMs and pads haven't been replaced yet.

Just wondering, does "E" on the cgminer screen stats stand for efficiency or something else? A day of mining results in E:360% but if I increase the core clocks, E drops down to 200%+ and drops even more to about 140% if I go above the default core clock. Using a kill-a-watt, the settings with E:360% gives me a better MH/w.

Specs:
Athlon II 170u (CnQ enabled, 0.9v, 0.7v @ idle)
Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H
2Gb RAM
16Gb DOM
1x 5970 (625/300 @ 0.95v)
2x 5850 (780/300 @ 0.85v)
1x 6870 (775/300 @ 1.10v)
800w Corsair GS
Windows XP 64, 11.12/2.5, CGMiner 2.4.4

4 x6500 running MPBM is also attached to the rig.

The E in CGMiner is a simple percentage of Requested work divided by Accepted shares. It has no bearing on how efficient the actual hardware itself is.

My sapphires are quite stable at 0.85v up to 780MHz. Helped the GPUs to not go above 75C at 60% fan speed. I can't get past 800MHz @ 0.95v though, had to use 1.0v for it to be stable up to 840MHz.

Wow, your temperatures seem extremely high to me.

I just remoted into the rig and this was it's current temp readings. 3x 5850 1x5830 all 825/150/1v
