in some case this can be understand basic on numbers of item on key and how it starts. Can you post these information?
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_address_prefixes Here some details on how these can be different (in this case only with bitcoin).
Don't use online service of course on make any test with priv key....
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.
Seems that the private key that I have, is a bitcoin one, but it also fits with the Stellar (and seems that are funds in it).
So, not sure if any distinct private key format would be the best choice to assign it to a specific crypto. From here my question if exist a way to do it automatically (generate the public key and search it in the explorer)
Short story, I have this private key, but not sure at what crypto currency it belongs (surely not BTC/LTC) and I was wondering if there was a way to check if the private key belongs to a specific coin automatically without trying for each crypto (I saw that I can do it via GUARDA wallet, but it will take days). An additional point would be to get also the balance in it, if 0, makes no sense to proceed further.
Can you tell us how many characters there are in this private key?
You should not enter this key anywhere online or reveal it here, but it would help if you could remember approximate year and wallets you used on your old computer.
Balance can be zero for Bitcoin, but maybe there is something left in forked coins, and altcoins if key was from multicoin wallet.
This is something that I would like to understand without importing the private key for each crypto/fork. The key is 64 carachters long.
