Re: How to avoid a scam project?
by

on 15/08/2023, 07:11:54 UTC
There are so many new projects launching everyday and some of them can be good and some of them can be a scam as well. How can we identify it well? Perhaps we should have more discussion about it so we all can learn from everyone's experience.

You don't need to be in many projects. You just need a few good project and you're good. How to select those few... There are many ways to achieve that. As many of my friends explained here that you have to look for what it want to achieve. Is it something valuable or just to take your money away. Most important is the team behind it. Do they have history of something good then you can research it more and look for other factors.
Besides these the narrative atm matters a lot. Because if it favors the project it can go wild but if not then even the project is good it might not do well. So You gotta consider a lot while doing research. So when you will be on the way of doing things, the best you can learn is that time. Keep hustling.

Re: Bank offering Crypto Services!!
by

They didn't "realized the potential of Bitcoin", They realized the money they could make
The banks aren't really interested in Bitcoin, nor its technology.

As painful as it may sound (I realise this may apply only to some of us), unfortunately, you're right. Banks won't really do something for the good that it can bring to people, but only get involved when they can profit.

This is exactly what this German bank has done, and I'm afraid many more will start doing the same. They will use the 'BTC' buzz word and 'crypto' to attract the common people and get them involved in their tricky game. It is out of the ignorance of these people that institutional banks profit from.

Banks are interested in the potential of abusing bitcoin and earning more fiat to build up their filthy cocaine-infested fiat notes run world. Just trending, they just want to get people to invest in them and are using crypto as a "front" to attract people since its "the cool thing to do" "The bank trusts it so it must be legit (said every moron ever and there are many morons out there)" This is terrible news and totally against crypto. I can't understand why anyone would use their services, though I am interested in finding more I can't seem to find any sturdy news about it.

Re: Why bitcoin mixers are only for criminals
by

This reminds me a little bit about the argument about torrenting and privacy. We all say "peer-to-peer networking" is for sharing personal files among one another but e all know it's for pirating movies and games and software. I can't think of any reason why you would want to "mix" bitcoin. It is anonymous enough. How very paranoid do you need to be to use mixers? I ask the question why are you so paranoid to begin with? What are you doing that makes you paranoid.

This is why I prefer to stay aay from social media and my investors. The outside influence can be destructive and cause you to give in to FUD or some other form of loss and no one needs that so staying away from others and their opinions and what coins to buy is best. It is important for us to learn about things ourselves and trust in our own beliefs.

It only puts it into a bad light with mindless people. Criminals can use anything. Does that make everything a criminal uses bad? If we start using "logic" like that can you see just how far and ridiculous it can go?
We may as well say cellphones are bad because criminals use them. Chat apps are dangerous and criminal organizations use them. Hell the internet itself must be bad then.

I think if you are going to be investing your bonus or investing anything into something you need to do your research are remains in control. According to what I have read it is like Paypals bitcoin offering in that you can only sell or buy and therefore do not even own them. What sort of investor would invest money into something they give over ownership to someone else when they could easily claim it themselves.

Re: Bitcoin can't be used for transactions?

I agree with you about using Bitcoin as a payment method. When fees starting matching the amount you are spending then that is just too much to take. I think the bank only charges $0.35 to use the card to pay and to withdraw cash it will cost $0.50. Compared to bitcoin that is peanuts. Etherium used to be the next best thing, though that has just changed recently during the boom and with all the mining. This has made many people turn to other currencies like litecoin or ripple. USDC & USD tether cannot be used since it uses the Etherium network so it won't help much. Transferring tokens become a problem too.

Re: The good side of banning btc in Nigeria
by

I do feel this can not be the best idea. Bitcoin was made so people can be free without borders & government intervention. The government cannot truly do much to stop anyone from using bitcoin.
Disabling the internet is about the same odds as with bitcoin and that has never happened. It will be interesting to see what happens next in countries like Nigeria.

If you are intelligent enough to make 10k bitcoins you should be intelligent enough to know how to sell/spend them. Why not open up some more invetments and bussniesses both within and out of the crypto realm?
You sound like one of those people who would win the lotto and in 2 years' time they are broke.

I just dislike using the banking system. Crypto is much easier to use but you need to be very careful. I guess that is why it is not for everyone. I think too many people are coming to it as a quick means of making money. Though it has been creating many new job opportunities.

Until last year, many people had prejudices against all cryptocurrencies, especially btc, and even comparisons with happiness chains were in question. When we look at it today, even people who did not know about crypto money started to invest and many corporate companies, especially Elon Musk, started to enter. In short, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be accepted by many corporate companies and will be integrated as a payment method.

I think it is just people who are afraid. Innovative people and risk-takers are the ones who live the lives of success.

Don't overly concern yourself with these things. So long as you are still making good profits and are in the green and not the red. If you expect to gain every single time then you are going to be disappointed. It is human nature but we can't win every time we just need to win most of the time. Slow and steady. Stick with crypto even when it does poorly.

Why do some people try to found Satoshi? He wanted to stay anonymous and he deserved it.
That's the world we live in, they will always be at your disadvantage even though you are fighting for their freedom. Many heroes and heroine where killed becasue of their selfless sacrifice to humanity, Satoshi among others wanted the world to be free from her dictators and the people he came for are the same digging the IP's address, then the question is: For what use will Satoshi IP address use for?.

Yes exactly. YOu can't do anything with an IP anyway. They change so often. This obsession with who Satoshi is, is really pathetic. I am glad to hear there are bitcoin warriors like yourself out there that still understand and grasp the concept that bitcoin is a tool of liberty & not an entrance into vast fiat wealth.

Re: Need help with feel-mining, scam or not?
by

A much better idea would be to have a friend or family who lives in a country where electricity is cheap and have them run the miner. That way you know you actually own a miner and can split the profits. Obviously, you have to be able to trust your friend but I would rather trust a friend than some random website wouldn't you?

I also see they sell nodes. Another thing you could do is run a node from your own pc and you will only have to pay collateral which will be locked in your own wallet under your control. You will not be giving your colalteral to anyone but rather locking it in. As long as it is locked in you will slowly generate more of that coin. I would rather do that than hand my money over to a company.

"More less they can use and move Bitcoin without really being mindful of what they are doing in a transaction."

This is ridiculous. How can you not be mindful when making financial transactions?

Bitcoin is easier to use than the banking system. Easier and faster to set up as well. The only problem is finding a place to spend it but if you already know of such places then it is not a problem.
The wallets just need built in fail safes so transactions are easier to follow understand and mistakes are kept to a minimum.

To avoid tax? That sounds strange. Normally it would be a maul working for someone else but I guess when it's gold you just cannot afford to lose it. I mean surely this person could have used one of the many other methods to accomplish what they were trying to do? Using something physical seems like going back in time.

I am also surprised. I stopped using them long ago when they started asking for KYC. That was enough for me. I was very surprised that you could at one stage trade bitcoin to cash in person there but that too changed.
I definitely wouldn't recommend trading there. It is a horrible pain to wait for someone to talk to and engage the trade then wait. Rather just use your local exchange that does fiat too. I've never had a problem and it is much much easier.

Re: My view on Bitcoin
by
Lizzie_Girl
on 12/10/2020, 13:19:15 UTC
Please don't use bitcoin if you don't believe in the underlying value. bitcoin is meant as a tool of freedom for people. Not a fast cashgrab. We don't need cashgrabbers we need believers in a better-decentralized world outside the control of the filthy government. I mean do you even know where they tax you pay goes? Not a chance. How can someone ask you to pay them a large amount of your salary and not even tell you where it is going. You should have every right to know where and how your money is spent and bitcoin gives you this freedom.

Bitcoin is for those sick of restrictions and regulations. It is a currency not an investment. If you should think of it as investment stop thinking of it from a profit point of you and start thinking of it as the point of you that you are investing in blockchain technology and everything that goes with it. Only small minds focus solely on profit.

You could have sold your bitcoin for skrill or payeer then from there withdraw to your bank account. I am not sure if they are supported in your country but you would need to try something like that to get around this problem. Things will get better in teh future for sure. There is clearly a demand for what you need in your country and some clever person who wants to make money will fill that demand its just a matter of time. I hope it hapens soon.  Cheesy

Re: Bitcoin logo
by

You can use any logo you want for bitcoin. There is no "official" logo. The orange one is just the one most use and think of when thinking of bitcoin. There are other way more important things to concern ourselves with.
I think the logo is clever anyway. Its like an extention of the $ sign. It looks so cool and all high tech like circuitry and stuff.
