i've noticed a small issue with the new wallet.

the wallet totals are not updating as new transactions come in.

after i restart the wallet. the totals update to reflect the new transactions.

notice the transactions on the right.

after i restart the wallet, notice the transactions are the same but, now the wallet totals have updated.

not a big deal but, just thought i'd share.

anyone else experiencing this?

Fixed this earlier on but didn't have time to post. The same bug was also present with the "balance" down the bottom of the send coins page. I've fixed that aswell. If you notice anything else let me know.

https://github.com/Logicoin/logicoin/releases/download/v0.9.1.5/logicoin-qt.zip

I'll lower the fee to 0.01 LOGIC for multibit and push an update for that also.

Tor is planned to come along the same time as pulse to avoid needless updates.

i believe the pulse implementation is already set to have a variable block reward based on difficulty.

i would think this would offset any multipool worries as the block reward will be higher when the difficulty is lower.

pulse will also require very little hashing power to maintain the network should everyone go multipool.

only problem may be the miners going insane trying to switch back and forth.  Tongue

that should make things interesting.

nothing new if fry and quark does it. In the end, those coins will die and hopefully by then the dev. won't drag logicoin in that direction. It's like 3 cars that look exactly the same and has the same features. I hope dev. wakes up soon and leads logicoin to the right direction and away from the other coins.

Lets be real here mate. I'm dev of neither of those coins and have 0 direction over where they go but lets look at some facts.

Quarkbar total coins 15million something. Original Dev hid a premine larger than QB's Max Coins.
Frycoin started off strong but experienced some copyright issue's. Their dev has essentially done nothing for the coin beyond release it and was then quick to hand over control to the CRF for which it is internally considered nothing more than a test coin.

I have a vested intrest in pulse being that I was there and helped come up with the original paramaters. Obfuscode did the coding which is why he has control over which coins it gets implemented in first. I maybe involved with the CRF but beyond retweeting a few things they have done nothing at all for Logicoin . In reality Logicoin is a much stronger coin than both Quarkbar and Frycoin. I find it insulting that you think I would blindly lead my coin in "that direction".

I apologise for my shitty PR skills but I have and will continue to be commited to the development of Logicoin despite the criticism I have recieved. 99% of "devs" release a coin and then run huge PR campaigns without actually developing anything at all, I've taken the opposite route which has clearly been to my detriment. The one thing you can be sure of is that I will not make empty promises or release whitepapers with plans that never come to fruition. Everything I've promised is coming; albeit a little later than I had hoped for reasons that are mostly out of my control.

I fully understand the price isn't where some of you would like it to be and trust me when I tell you that your concerns stress me out and I have lost sleep over this but in the end there is not a whole lot I can do about that.

In the meantime I've had a look at MultiLogic and the problem is seeds. It seems my provider closed down my VPS account without making any backups so my dnsseed went down. I'm working on getting it back up but if anyone's able to provide or host a backup please PM me.

I've added 4 additional seeds but they should be considered temporary for the time being. I also updated the checkpoint file so on first run you will automatically be at block 120,000. Ticker also changed to LOGIC.

Mac OSX - Sorry Guys I lost access to my OSX Virtual Machine so can't build the DMG file until I get that sorted out. I have Multilogic.app so if anyone wants to try and package it up for the OSX guys please let me know.

If for some reason you wish to build from source you can do so with the following repo's.

MultiLogic - https://github.com/Logicoin/multilogic

Logicoinj-10.3-MB-ALICE - https://github.com/Logicoin/logicoinj-alice

You must use Logicoinj-Alice if building Multilogic as serialization is outdated and needs fixing.

I do not like the PoS idea as there are too many out there. We are too late in PoS and we need a multipool to support the price if LGC has no daily use.

The new feature I would like is the anonymity. That would be complementary to BTC. So there will be many uses for that.

I don't like PoS either but the supporters have been very vocal and my inbox is essentially full of "lets go pos". Doesn't hurt to get the public opinion.

Tor is step 1 in anonymity and I do have a build with full tor integration running but I need to find a more elegant way of letting onion nodes and normal nodes communicate. Tor and pulse should compliment each other and situate us nicely for widespread merchant adaption.

Considering quick & dirty subsidy fix while waiting for pulse:
When difficulty is under 50 then reward is 20
if difficulty is under 100 reward is 10
otherwise reward is 5
I am not sure about this change. You should implement it very carefully. Or may be you should not at all.
Now reward is 6.25 and have transparent schedule of changing.
You want to increase it 3 times at once (to 20), increase inflation 3 times - what is a point?
And if hashrate start to increase - reward will be halfed. This is incomprehensible for common miners.
Multipools don't care - they have automated algorithms. All coins are in the same boat regarding to multipools.
I think every stable coin shoud touch block reward and inflation changes only in special cases - we have not such situation.
Look at vertcoin - price has fallen 10 times, but devs don't hurry to change inflation in spite of bugholders weeping.

Logicoin.info
please think carefully about this moment.

upd: at least don't implement this dirty fix while waiting for pulse.
Pulse is new technology and can attract new miners and investors, but dirty fix is just... dirty Smiley

Agreed

I agree with the above comments.

I do not agree with changing the block reward hastily.

We can make the 6.25 reward lasting longer than a month and wait for the new features. This will not devalue the existing LGC  and will not reduce the difficulty too much.

There is no time to hard fork the chain to implement that if we want to give 2~3 weeks notice. So the new implementation can happen after 3.125 block reward.

I would suggest making the block reward 0.1 when the reward is supposed to be below .1 after halving. A little bit inflation is healthy to compensate the loss of coins and economy growth.

We need to find use for the coins, otherwise it has no value whatever we do to the coin itself. However, if we make the coins attractive, we may find use for the coins. It is cyclical.

This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for. I only mention changing subsidy as a temporary stop gap, once Pulse is fully implemented we will get a new subsidy to go along with it.

I've had pulse running in a private testnet for the better part of two weeks now and its all looking good but I have to respect obfuscode's wishes and wait till he comes back from HOPE before I can progress any further with implementing it for a public test.

I've been away from the scene for a little while and have recieved alot of pressure to go Proof of Stake. The question I'd like to put to you guys is that if going PoS meant a coin swap would you still be willing to look at that as an option? The coin swap could be handled in multiple ways to ensure everyone gets their coins but still its not at all my prefered option.

I was asked to hold off on getting pulse on the LGC Mainnet for now so I've gotten together a to do list.

Immediate Focus:

Upgrade Wallet (Complete)
New Icons + Branding (Complete)
Update Ticker to LOGIC (Complete)
Fix Subsidy (Huh)
Include Tor Support (Almost Complete)
Implement Pulse (Almost Complete)

I've already contacted a few merchants and once pulse goes live we will be making a major push towards getting a vendor API.

Wallet style has been upgraded and also includes a statistics page and block explorer. Branding and Icons have been changed to reflect Logicoin's updated graphics. Ticker has been changed from (LGC) to (LOGIC).

Considering quick & dirty subsidy fix while waiting for pulse:
When difficulty is under 50 then reward is 20
if difficulty is under 100 reward is 10
otherwise reward is 5

Chances are that reward would be 20 which would benefit miners. At worst case scenario reward would never be lower than 5.

I've Tested Tor Support and there's a few bugs that might make it problematic for nodes that don't upgrade so rather than do two mandatory upgrades I've decided to hold off on full Tor implementation.

Some Screenshots of the new wallet style. This update is optional.

Guys... I just checked your website. Someone might want to take a look. Says it's suspended.

Edit: Ah, not .info anymore. nvm.

Recurring btc payments don't work so well when you can't access your wallet Tongue At any rate hosting has been sorted and paid up for 6 months which should be plenty of time for SEO purposes as logicoin.info now has a 301 redirect to logicoin.io anyway.

Over the next couple of days I plan on releasing more technical information in regards to Pulse and how exactly it will affect the Logicoin network. We will also need to test out the Android wallet and Multilogic to ensure compatability but Pulse has no effect on the block headers which in theory means that all SPV blockchains should be unaffected.

Plans for the coming weeks:

  • Initiate public testnet for Pulse on the 5th
  • New Paper Wallets featuring our new logo and designs
  • Add new Logo to wallets and adjust mining reward
  • New Wallet released between the 10th-15th
  • Hardfork a week or so after new Wallets have been released

I will personally see to it that the hardfork goes much smoother than the last one did and will ensure those that don't upgrade on time will not poison the network.

So....Turns out I must have done something terrible in a past life to have had so many PC problems the past week. 2 Hard drives, 1 motherboard, 1 PSU and 2 GPU's later I'm back!

Good news is that I was able to retrieve 90% of my data.

So here's the plan. For the past few weeks I have been working with the CRF on a new way to handle transactions and what we have come up with is Pulse.

Read The Whitepaper

What this will mean is that LGC will never experience a stalled blockchain despite rapid changes in difficulty the blockchain will never go longer than 10 minutes (This can be changed) without producing a block and moving the chain forward. It also gives retailers the option to introduce a fee that will in turn have a very good chance of instantly creating a block with that TX which in turn means near instant confirmation of that transaction. If you have ever purchased anything with btc you would know that you can wait a very long time for that first confirm to come through. Pulse solves that problem and we hope it will make us that more attractive as a currency for real life transactions.

The plan is to have a public testnet running by the 5th and then assuming all goes well we will launch Pulse on the mainnet a week or so after that. I also plan on adjusting rewards to make it more profitable for miners. The reward adjustment will be somewhere in the vicinity of double - tripple current rewards.

Some of the finer details of Pulse still need to be worked out (Fee's and time between blocks) which is why we will be running a public testnet and asking for as much cooperation and feedback as possible.

Apologies for my recent 'vacation' but its back to work we go!

What do you guys think about changing the ticker from LGC to LOGIC.
I think branding wise it will grab more attention.

"LOGIC" for ticker symbol makes it clear. LGC hasn't had much success and people question it.

Your thoughts?

Going with a 5 characters is hugely innovative. LGC will become the second coin to do so.. lol

So how are you liking the new "we wanna know what you're holding" wallet treating you ?

Hippie Tech - I don't know your reasoning... but you do bring up a valid point. I do agree that if there are vulnerabilities in the multi wallet, the users should be made aware of them; use at your own risk.

It's no less secure than multibit or multidoge.

Have a look for these so called warnings hippietech thinks are of the highest importance. Here's a quote from multibits website

a big welcome to our 2 newest p2pool nodes.

good news for you us east coast miners.

canada also has a new public node. thanks canada!!!

p2pool node scanner http://lgc.x11pools.com:8080/

thanks again to dstorm for his p2pool source. https://bitbucket.org/dstorm/p2pool-lgc

Going to look at getting a node up for the Australian miners tonight.

How many people are interested in seeing semi-variable block rewards?
Difficulty under 20 = double block rewards
between 20 - 80 = + 50% block rewards
above 80 = standard rewards.

At this point it looks like we may lock block reward at 1.5625 (another 3 reward halvings before that) but if anyone has a good idea we would love to hear it. Hoping to reward the miners that stay loyal and continue mining.

(silence)

If you're into cloning stuff, you should at least include it's warnings and other vital info along with it.

As far as I know, Java poses a significant security risk.

I am pleased to announce the release of a new bitcoin client called MultiBit.

This is a desktop client for Windows, Mac and Linux.   It is written in Java and uses bitcoinj for talking to the bitcoin network.

...

Important Limitations:
MultiBit is experimental code - do not use it for large amounts of bitcoin.
The wallets are not encrypted. (This is a planned development).

I appreciate the sort of creepy cyber stalking but no that is not me.

MultiLogic will have a dedicated website where I will display all the warnings and help files.

Can everyone please ensure they are running version 0.9.1.3 or risk being on a fork!

Windows users only need to download the wallet from the front page and if you have done that within the last 2 weeks you are safe.

Is the mac version on the front page updated to 0.9.1.3?
I just installed it and the version it has in the About is 0.3.666-beta

Please advise, thanks!

No it has not been updated yet. For some reason I was under the impression it had.

For a temporary workaround you can use the following procedure to move your wallet over to MultiLogic which is working correctly.

1. Open the logicoin wallet and copy your LGC address to the clipboard.

2. Go to help > debug window > console

3. In the console window type "dumpprivkey " without the quotation marks and <> for example. dumpprivkey LWUkwsUi72H7tvhKm5FVGWGtrUqzEEc9je

4. Copy the string it gives you into a text file and save it as Logicoin.key

5. Download and install MultiLogic. Once its opened go to Tools > Import Private Key

6. Under "Import file" is a button labeled "Import From" Click this and locate the file Logicoin.key that you saved in step 4

7. Now click "Import private keys". The wallet may sync from the begining of the blockchain again but once its complete your balance should be available to you

I apologize for the workaround.

Can someone contact Bittrex about listing LGC?

Poloniex is nice but really small compared to Bittrex. Poloniex has ~500BTC volume and most of this comes from already popular coins, but Bittrex has its ~1700BTC volume from "all new" coins

I think LGC just needs some attention. Very few people are coming to BTCTalk to look around what coin is worthy but if they saw a new coin getting listed there they would come on here to check it out and obviously they would see that the dev team is really dedicated to LGC and working hard making it succeed. Not to mention that most new coins dev teams are begging for donation even before they do something.

Logicoin has proven it multiple times that it has the potential to be one of the top coins. Logicoins dev team is doing more in weeks than most of the coins in months or even their whole existance.

I really cant understand how this coin only have 0.5BTC 24h volume.

I think bittrexs only requirement is to have a block explorer and active dev team.

I totally agree with you. Bittrex should be the next place to get. But we should also work to get on Mintpal.
I'm working hard to find a way to get some donations to paid 0.001 fee to vote more. I'm voting every hour. If all community vote we will go higher pretty quick.

So letsgo! Vote on Mintpal and Coinwarz!

As far as bittrex goes. I just sent off our 5th email and I have been tweeting at them and have not recieved a response which is a tad dissapointing. I would appreciate it even if they got back to me and said no.
