My comission paid in bitfinex is bitcoin.
I buy 10 BTC, they deduct 0.015,then I get 9.985. I don't like it. I prefer they charge me usd like bitstamp.
I contact support,support don't help.
Any one knows is that possible they charge me usd as commision?

Thanks in advance.

You need to have actual USD in your account for the fees to be deduct in USD. If you don't have USD a portion of your btc will be converted to USD at market rate to pay the fee. What I usually do is just leave a small amount of USD in the trading account to cover the fee

Anyone having connection problems to BFX?
I do have the problem in withdrawl. it is wierd, since it happened to me for the first time that the site said withdrawl is compeleted but don't shown in blockchain or i dont receive it. However, I have filed a suppourt ticket by mailing them. I am very faithful that Bitfinex will take good care of this problem as they have done in the past proving the reputation.

Just wait and have my finger crossed.

PS: i thought i was the only one who experiencing such missing withdraw.

Happen to me too, it went through after 12 hours when they did a manual check. So I guess just be patient.

Would be nice to have an indicator if the hot wallet is near empty or already empty. Nothing worse than having coins stuck at withdraw during turbulent times for 10+ hours

         https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/contextcalc

Like Qt-Trader and also like BitFinex's own "Buy All / Sell All" buttons on the Exchange Page.
For some reason they did not include it on the "Margin Trading Page"

I'm sure with time they can come up with something better, the current workaround was easy to implement.

I don't know about Qt-trader but I can probably tell you why there is no "buy all/sell all" button like exchange. In exchange the amount your trading with is fixed, either x amount of $ or x amount of btc. In Margin mode it count both USD and BTC, while USD value is fixed BTC is not. So your tradeble balance is always fluctuating if there is BTC in the wallet. And what happens when the system detects a trade that you don't sufficient balance? It cancels the whole block at execution and more people will complaint about that.

Give it time, not a "easy" fix

They already implemented an estimate. Why keep complaining...

Not on the "Margin Trading" page,
if you find it, let me know !

It's right next to the prices... after you type in the price and how much btc, it gives you an estimate of the total.

Wow this is absolute bullshit. Lost money yesterday, and now BFX is down and I can't close my short position as we go up and i lose again because of Binfinex's bullshit.

The people in this forum that are not frustrated just simply have not lost significant amounts of money because of Bitfinex incompetence.

Brutal.

Is anyone else having this problem
of not being able to close shorts ?

Don't want to get stuck in a position I can't get out of.

It's working fine for me.

Edit: Chrome doesn't work, but works in Firefox and on my  phone

I dont see how Bitfinex would have lost anything. Traders are the one's who lose out because someone was able to basically rig the trading. But as a platform, Bitfinex engine was simply matching trades meaning traders positions were being closed and trades were being made "as normal". Bitfinex would me making %fees from all that. Need to be clear here, their platform was exploited, but Bitfinex did not suffer losses that I can see, only traders. I feel sorry for anyone who was bankrupted by this... so rolling back those trades was the right thing to do for sure. But I think you should probably talk with Bitfinex in private, if you dont get resolution then maybe you can be more vocal, but until then, it would be better not to create noise here.

People were basically trading with unlimited margins.... imagine playing with $10m with only $100. Who would cover the loss in this case? definitely not the one exploiting the trade

Can people stop using hack or hackers for this event. It was a bug in the trading platform software that probably wasn't discovered till recently.

Thank god it's frozen now. I dunno what Bitfinex team can do now as the damage has been done. If the withdraws were somewhat limited during this period then the situation shouldn't be too bad, otherwise...

Rollback would be the best option.

What they do next is what will define them in this market. Let's wait and see.

I would recommend people not lending money during this period until it's fixed otherwise you risk losing it all

Please e-mail support@bitfinex.com regarding the "other things". I have mailed regarding the $10k 0.000000000000001 BTC bid that causes the P/L to be displayed incorrectly.

It may, sadly, take some hours before this is resolved: R is on France time. Nothing inherently wrong with being french, but it's four in the morning there.

The micro order is not the issue.  The issue is that people's balances are wrong.  Some report 10x unrealized swap, some report 2x-5x on their unrealized P/L, some report negative tradeable balances.  Still others report that limit orders are matched but don't update their postions (but DO update their tradeable balance).  PLUS margin ratios are fluctuating.

If people get margin called because of bogus data, it will be a disastrous nightmare trying to unwind all the transactions.  ...and this is assuming Bitfinex hasn't been compromised and someone isn't doing all this on purpose.

WAKE UP RAFAEL!

Most of those problems are DUE to the micro order.

BITFINEX SUPPORT.   I AM SEEING NUMEROUS REPORTS IN IRC THAT P/L NUMBERS ARE NOT CORRECT FOR CUSTOMERS (myself included).

PLEASE LET US KNOW YOU ARE LOOKING INTO THE VARIOUS ISSUES BEING REPORTED TODAY.   We would prefer you took the system down to verify all account balances are in order rather than have people trading with erroneous balances.

+1

Very serious matter, not just on P/L but other things that WILL put people's money at VERY HIGH RISK.

Please take it down immediately before more damage is done.

We decided therefore to review our fee ledger as follows:

1)  from 0 to 500 BTC                   :       0.15%
2)  from 500 to 2,000 BTC            :       0.14%
3)  from 2,000 to 5,000 BTC         :       0.13%
4)  from 5000 to 15000 BTC         :       0.12%
5)  from 15,000 to 25,000 BTC     :       0.11%
6)  over 25,000 BTC                        :       0.10%

Numbers are applied on BTC traded in the last 30 days.

It would be nice if the fees were calculated in fiat as the value of BTC makes getting in the 5k to 15k range "harder", it requires a lot more USD volume value now than it did at lower price levels. Also, that fee plan seems to put my fee at 0.13% from tomorrow and that is a very unlucky number.

Overall, I find this fee raise a total scandal and I am immediately switching over to an exchange with lower fees and the same great set of of features and supperb service since that's easy to find... in a dream or something.

+1, I think the hike in fees is quite high. But I have more problem with your discount levels (not counting your definition of "market maker") your top tier requires $20million in transactions in 30 days, that's close to $1m a day at current prices, what happens if BTC reach $1500 or more?. Maybe it's feasible in the future when there are more market participants on your exchange and have better liquidity but no way feasible in current conditions.

I hope you could at least review your discount levels a bit. Thanks

Although I got my Jupiter 2 week later than everyone Undecided, Delivered Oct 29th and had some problems with 0 die initially, with the latest update 0.99 it's been performing flawlessly. I don't even need to regulate the temperature anymore for the die 0 problem which was a pain in the ass.

Thumbs up for your hardware. Thumps down for late delivery :|
