I can see how the mining pools make sense for the investors and early adopters to artificially prop up the price and demand of the coin. But don't they negate the supposed environmentally friendly claims of the coin that come with using PoS instead of PoW?
The devs are still encouraging mining and a bunch of excessive electricity use on this project through the mining pools.

Am I missing something? How does the $100,000 actually get invested?
Stashing a wad of cash in an account while simultaneously creating 1000 shares of thin air doesn't magically make those shares have any intrinsic value.

How about if a coin looks crappy you don't mine it?
Problem solved

Re: 6 reasons why you should buy or hold onto your BlackCoins!
The equilibrium between energy use in mining and market cap means it cannot scale. The only way the market cap can grow significantly is by having centralized miners that have access to private energy efficient mining technology, which makes the "distributed" part meaningless.
All in all, it's a total scam.
Right, I mean last fall you could sell these electronic blips and bleeps for like $1000 each.
