New miner versions:
- nanominer-v1.1.0 (Added CryptoNightR on Nvidia. Up to 17% faster than best competive CryptoNightR Nvidia miners currently available with only 1% devfee. Miner can now auto-detect Monero coin and algorithm so no need to reconfigure miner after PoW hardfork on March 9th. Added options coreClocks, memClocks for overclocking. RandomHash devfee for CPU-only case was reduced from 5% downto 3%. About 5% performance improvents for RandomHash on some CPUs.)

I would like to figure out how t run this nanominer in smos but for the life f me I can't get it to work with my pool (nanopool) I have been w/smos for a long time and think I know it well enough. I've tried other miners too for xmr and they are all no go. Some problem finding directories for Nvidia cards? and other odd errors. I've updated my USB stick twice and verified that things do work with other algos in fack still have 2 machines running ETH. The one I'm working with now is a 10 card 1060 3gb setup. It was working well just before the fork and thought it would just continue since I updated the mining software. But no just stopped dead in it's tracks. I know there are others like me having issues but the chatter on sites is scant. Any info from anyone here?

Re: Can You Make Money Mining Cryptocurrency At Home? Res. Elec. Rates Kill Profits!

If you guys believe in BTC, then mine whatever alt you are mining and sell for BTC and hold that BTC for months...years

If you guys believe in ETH, then mine ETH, and cold storage it and hold it for months...years

If there are some promising alts/token that can change the world, then sell some of your mined BTC or ETH and buy those tokens and hold for months...years

There were many cycles like this in the past. The true believer kepts mining at a loss or break-even just to accululate some coins and in the end it always paid off.
yup , those guys that kept mining dash and ltc and even vertcoin back in 2013 laugh at these posts

I'm not here to hate on mining, just at my electric rate I would be better off simply buying most coins (currently) & I could sell my hardware for some change and dump that straight into any coins I want increasing my holdings w/ zero work after selling the gear

VoskCoin your vids are spot on. Always seems to be the most relevant at the time. Can you comment on your buying coins argument with knowing in most cases people are buying them from an exchange and thus may not be as much of an anonymous transaction? When I'm mining to a crypto address using free email for instance with SMOS am I not in a roundabout way collecting coins that can't "easily" be traced to me as a taxpayer? Nobody really directly has been given my ID as if when using an exchange. If I have to pay a little in electricity cost isn't there some value to that? I know the blockchain isn't private and the transactions themselves in most cases can be traced to one another but it just seems a pretty difficult task for someone to go out of their way to find my front door. Nothing's impossible but in all the discussion I read so far no one seems to see value here. Before someone says it I'm not in it for criminal intent and I know that when you trade into anything else, crypto, fiat even goods and services you owe some taxes. Most times when you do that you've exposed yourself anyway.

Zcash Flypool hashrate seems to double for short periods of time

I have been on Flypool for a long time and seem to have very few problems and I get everything I expect but something strange is happening every few days so far. For just a couple of hours my hashrate will exactly double from an avg of 60 to 120. Happened 3 times today alone. Seems odd to me, I'm using 4 z9 mini's. Anybody seeing the same thing?

hi guy new to mining can you tell me how can i overclock my 8x1070 individiualy with SMOS

I'm interested too. Some of my cards run a little hotter than others, other than being in a different spot on the rig they are all the same.

- you can test it for free and then you need to pay only 2$ per rig per month

You say we can test for free but then $2 a month.  Before paying the $2 is it actually mining or just going through the motions?

When you put your wallet on the command line of whatever miner you choose to use it will be seen in that pool after a bit (it was minutes for me at flypool with the EWBF miner). So, yep it's working.

This is a new rig with 7 cards soon to be 9.
Running SMOS on a USB.
I have the cards set so the highest one is around 60 to 65c.
100/500 fans at 80%
These are MSI cards
They seem quiet. 50db at 3 feet
They feel warm. Around 115 degrees to the touch.
They run in my unheated 2 car garage and if I don't open the door daily
the temps push 90 degrees.
I've ordered an exhaust fan that I'll be installing soon so I can hopefully
push the power level a bit. Although 4Sol/w seems like a good tradeoff.

Re: safe temperatures for a 1080ti rig

Hello, I'm looking for input regarding 1080Ti temps. I have 7 cards running ZEC via SMOS. Seems that some cards can run 15c cooler than others. The highest is 63c and the lowest at times 47c. I don't have an onboard OS just using SMOS on a usb. I haven't updated the cards and SMOS and my bios both have updates. I'm guessing that cards can come off the line with different averages but 15c seems a little much. Funny thing, they are right next to each other in the rig. One hot, one cool. The problem for me is when I push the settings I'm limited by the hottest one. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

flypool.org

bitfly e.U. 2017 | The Zcash Mining Pool

If you haven't heard of them I suppose that would be good because I know bad news travels fast.

Thanks

Flypool?

I have my 1st newly built Rig. I ran on Dwarfpool for Zcash for a couple of days and I think I was unlucky?

I have set up now on Flypool and it seems that the payouts are right on.

Anyone have opinions on Flypool? Should I expect problems?
