Bitcoin blocks are currently taking much longer than the normal 10 minutes.  I have transaction that is around 30 minutes older that still isn't in the block chain.

Has anyone ever used nicehash's service and mined here?  I tried it for a small amount and it would never connect.  Works fine on CM.

Nope, only know HashCows.  I think Waffle and HashCows nearly same profitable regarding to http://poolpicker.eu/

I was able to use it on uswest.wafflepool.com.  I made BTC at 5.7 BTC/GH/Day yesterday.  Today I lost BTC at 6.2 BTC/GH/Day.

I hope the lower difficulty coins work out I could use a few more fractions of a Bitcoin.

I might need to adjust the intensity.  Reject rate is currently 2.8% but it has only been about 25 min since I zeroed the statistics.

It sounds like shares after "Pool 0 stale share detected, submitting as user requested" will now be rejected.  I think this will make the rejected shared on my setup around 5% (if it is similar to Clevermining) to up from 0.2%. I am running intensity 20 on my R9 290. I'll try lowering it once the new stratum server code is put into production.

Anyone having this problem?

-image removed-

It always happen 5-10 seconds. what is the solution for this?  Huh
Im using wafflepool.

Happend to me also a few times, i would like to know too why if anyone can help? Using wafflepool only.

maybe an issue with WIFI.

Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart

This is not an issue. I believe you get this when new transactions (sending/receiving coins) are added to the potential block so we need to restart hashing from the beginning using the additional transactions.

Stratum connection to pool 0 interrupted

This could be a WIFI issue (don't use it unless you must), ISP issue or PoolWaffle working on the servers.  Make sure you have a backup pool set.   Don't worry about it unless it happens a lot.

Cryptsy's trading engine is having some issues:
https://twitter.com/cryptsy/status/442791322454601729

Looking at our balance on cryptsy, we have a bunch of accounts with negative values.  Going to give it a while longer to let their stuff get sorted, and then I'll dig deeper Smiley

You might want to put in a support ticket.  You can't trade at all with any negative balances.

About a month ago Cryptsy paid a Dogecoin withdraw of mine three times.  Their fix was to give my account a negative Dogecoin balance.  I send the Dogecoin back and got some Cryptsy points for doing the right thing.

Infact two small balances. Do they get paid out auto?

From the website:

Payouts are processed multiple times a day, and anyone with a balance over 0.01 BTC is automatically paid in order of when you reached the threshold. On Sundays we pay everyone with a balance over 0.001.

I think 10% or keeping a max of 3 blocks in the pipeline is fine.  I do recommend we stop mining it on March 23 and reevaluate on March 26 due to the premined coins "Airdrop".

It's normal.  Likely mining Flappycoin (lower difficulty).

Speak for yourself, assuming that these have any impact (I would argue these ASIC's won't be the death of anything), I would just move to mining something more ASIC resistant.

That might be a flawed assumption that there will be any worth mining.

If you really want to make yourself nervous, look at this... scroll to the bottom.

50mhs for $7k, 200mhs for $21k. When/if these are ever readily available, we all have to reinvest in new hardware.

I'm not sure about them but I think Alpha Technology is real.

Highly unlikely. SHA ASICS were orders of magnitude better in processing power than GPUs. scrypt is memory intensive and the basic idea was for it to be ASIC resistant. Even in a few months their only advantage would be energy consumption (and in some cases noise, space and heat). In addition BTC was just one coin, you have hundreds of scrypt coins then scrypt jane, variable n etc. All the asics in the world would have to spread their hashing power among many coins. I'll keep buying video cards and if all fails i'll just turn them into a gpu farm and still make money from it. plus they are great in winter Smiley

From what I understand the creator of scrypt says Litecoin (and anything based on it) "used scrypt poorly".  So that is not a large roadblock to ASIC scrypt miners.  The current ASIC script dualminer/gridseed use chips that are made on a 55 nm process that was state of the art around 2007.  I would guess half of the silicon is used for SHA-256 and not scrypt.  So we have yet to see the true power of a ASIC scrypt miner.

There are a number of SHA-256 coins too.  Looking at coinwarz three are currently are more profitable than Bitcoin.   Strangely I don't know of any SHA-256 multi-coin pools (but I haven't looked).  Currently there are two scrypt coins listed on coinwarz that are unprofitable based on reasonable energy costs.  I expect in six months half of the script coins listed will be unprofitable.  It the past month the value of Dogecoin has fallen 50%.  This is very poor when compared to Litecoin that fell around 10%.  As the total hash rate rises the total number of coins produced does not go up very much (by design).   A similar rise in coin prices may not happen.

Also next gen 20 nm video cards will be coming out the 2nd half of this year.  The new GeForce GTX 750 Ti from Nvidia card gives some idea on these cards.  A GeForce GTX 750 Ti uses 55% of the power for the same hash rate as a comparable AMD card.  I expect R9 280X/7970 GPUs used in miners to have a value around $140 a few months after the new cards are released.

sell vcards from your rigs to gamers. one day profit of x100500% guaranteed :-/

That's what I'm doing (no joke). I have three R9 270X listed on eBay with a starting bid of $199.99 (I hope to get around $205-$230 each).  After eBay fees, paypal fees and free shipping I'm likely going to take a $40-70 loss per video card (excluding anything I mined). That being said I'll keep mining here with my last video card a R9 290.

Withdraw coins that can be traded elsewhere!

WafflePool uses PPLNS where N represents many shifts.  There is no significance if 0 blocks are found during a shift.

Not sure what you mean about the lack of correlation - my recent blocks found always show up in the pool stats.  As far as 'recent shifts', you have to judge over the entire set of displayed shifts - the portion of hashing power you contribute is the portion you will get paid of any discovered blocks.

The FAQ says the following.

Quote
How do PPLNS (Pay Per Last N Shares) rewards work?

Everyone contributes shares towards a block solution. When a block is found, we pay out the last N shares that were submitted. The number of shares (N) will be getting tweaked as the pool grows to try to average a shift every 10min.

So it sounds like N is the total number shares in the current shift.  I would also take that as the shifts with no blocks have no pay.

The personalized stats recent shifts blocks do correlate with the main stats recently found blocks.  I can't correlate the personalized stats earnings log.

So what happens when a shift does not find a block?  Is all that work not paid as there is nothing to pay it with?  See the personalized stats example below.

Code:
Recent Shifts
ID Ended Shares (yours / total) Blocks Found
9538 OPEN 6656 / 61465088 0

9533 2014-03-05 00:19:17 10240 / 150097920 0
9532 2014-03-05 00:12:47 12288 / 151072256 0
9531 2014-03-05 00:06:22 10240 / 152461821 2
9530 2014-03-04 23:59:52 7680 / 150917119 1
9529 2014-03-04 23:53:22 11776 / 152552446 2

Also I don't think the personalized stats recent shifts blocks found correlate with the personalized stats earnings log or the main stats recently found blocks.

I'm not sure the 512 shares out of ~100,000,000 shares in my example is worth anything.  My example is worse than that as it is 512 shares in 3 shifts (~300,000,000 shares).

Unless the price of Bitcoin (currently ~$450) goes back up, CPU mining is just a little above break even (unless you get free power).  I just turned my Primecoin miner off as I think it is a loss for me after A/C costs.

Edit: 1 Share at 512 diff is 512 shares (I think)
