who is that your contact apart from you in this thread?

what do you mean by that?

He probably means other contact info but most people tend to not want to go offsite just to get additional info.

Israel risks damaging its international reputation by turning a blind eye to these desperate refugees.

LOL. What reputation is that? A fascist terror state? Israel doesn't care about anyone else but themselves and their own people. They would flatten Palestine if they thought they could get away with it (and they're doing a pretty good job of slowly suffocating it into non existence right now.

What do you think about Kanyes candidacy for the 2020 election?

I think it's hilarious and I hope he's serious because it will be entertaining to watch. Part of me actually hopes he gets in just for the lulz. If Regan can then so can Kanye. He'll have a lot of the hip-hop community behind him which if he can get them all to vote it could make a difference.

Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin?
by

I think we can expect the 'year of the bitcoin' within five years but I really cant see it happening next year without some major players getting involved. If you haven't got patience to wait 5 or maybe even ten years I think you're just setting yourself up for disappointment as bitcoin isnt going to achieve mainstream success over night.

Re: Banks were supposed to be frightened of Bitcoin

Banks are probably frightened of something they can't control or issue, but it's obvious they themselves can benefit from blockchain tech. I still think even forcing banks to rethink the way they do business or lower their fees is a good thing, though I still don't think they can compete with bitcoins low fees as that's where they make a lot of their money.

And me who was trying to help you on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1122225 ... seems like Elwar here was right . You just earned some more negative trust . and btw you will never be able to spend those BTC's

He's obviously just trolling. This seems to happen quite often from scammers who get tagged as such. Best just to ignore him.

Re: Could Satoshi Nakamoto be the CIA/NSA?

One thing is for sure. Bitcoin is being clamped down on. In a major way. Coinbase just recently now requires under the FinCEN deal that you provide government issued ID; in addition to all the previous "requirements" which require a "wait" period now while they "background check" the ID provided.

This shouldn't be a surprise. There's no way the governments and authorities were just going to sit back and let people launder money through bitcoins and avoid paying taxes. Regulations shouldn't be feared but be seen as a part of the natural evolution of bitcoin going mainstream.

Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for?
by
Ludi
on 03/07/2015, 15:25:45 UTC
I don't really use it at all at the  moment. I buy a bit and earn a little every month but I want to spend it in the future when it's worth a little more. I think it'd be really awesome and cool to be able to spend it on things I actually want and day to day purchases and think I would spend it wherever I could... just once the value is higher and stabalized  Grin.

Re: Last Movie you watch ? ( Daily thread )

I watched Hot Tub Time Machine 2 last night. It's a silly premise but there was actually quite a few laughs in it.

is that new movie? when it is released?

It's a low budget 'mockbuster' based on the big budget San Andreas one with The Rock in. It's cheap and cheesy like all those types of films are.

Re: "In 5 or 10 years I think every online retailer will accept Bitcoin." -Gavin
by
Ludi

I think once retailers (with 300-1000% markup) have a good understanding of BTC, and it's been proven it can handle the load (exponential increase of adoption) they will begin to offer significant discounts to their customers that use BTC so they can both sell off a portion for their day to day expenses plus taking an immediate profit in fiat and HODL a percentage of that markup in BTC for future risk/profit.

Any broker service that they (retailers) can trust to successfully manage their BTC holdings (for a fee) and realize a minimum 12% average interest on those holdings would simply be using sound business practice over the long run.

I'm curious about a couple of things here.

First off, why would any major business (I'm going to define it as at least being present on the stock market) decide to actually keep Bitcoin? I can understand why they'd be happy to accept it and then sell it off - but keeping it presents a risk that investors wouldn't necessarily be keen to take. You'd have to have society overwhelmingly accept Bitcoin for investors to be happy to have their company hold Bitcoin.

Secondly, where are you getting your figure of 12%?

Businesses can't afford to take that risk. It's a shame many of them are put off by the fluctuations but don't realize they can use companies like bitpay etc just to straight get the cash. I guess most just don't see the point in accepting it at the moment.

Trolls? You mean peoople that realize what is going on and no longer live in an illusion?

Those trolls have been right about bitcoin being a sinking ship for over a year now...

So why do you have an activity of over 1000 on an internet bitcoin forum if it's a "sinking ship"?

Cos the account was sold? Check the early posts and they are written by someone 'normal'. Either they went mental or passed it on to a silly sausage.

Doesn't really seem worth it to buy a Legendary account just to troll, though I suppose it gives the account more 'weight' behind it.

Bubble burst, bitcoin is going back to nil worthless.

By the way how pathetic GBTC trades? same goes with the ETF (if there would be one)

Do not trust whatever bulltards told you, they are just selling ponzi to you.
