Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation

Trolls don't bother me.

Monero CLEARLY isn't suffering anymore than any of the other top coins.

Quickly confirmed by checking XMR/DASH XMR/LTC XMR/ETH etc...

The question to worry about isn't faith in Monero, but if/when crypto will recover from this implosion.

That is right. The drop is the general market thing. Monero might bounce back faster as it has actual usage.

I do not understand anything for this xmr I am constantly changing the price. I guess it's a coin that whales love so much. because the price change sometimes makes me dizzy.

You are right was $70 then $140 then back to $100. Easily to make a fortune out of it or lose almost everything. In just a month that was not even that turbulent.

And it seems we are going back to $140 again. Just usual weeks in crypto.

It seems the XMR has hit the bottom. It is rising faster than BTC or BCH now.

I was thinking yesterday. Monero started year 2017 as one of the most talked about coins, but latter lost the momentum. It looked like hype around other coins went up and around Monero stayed the same.  I never understand of a reason for that. Thought of marketing or that those that joined crypto will find Monero sooner or latter.  But what happened in 2017 and now will continue in 2018 are increased countries regulations. Countries had and will try to regulate ICOs and tokens and coins and all to collect as much taxes as they can. By doing that they mention coins and by that market them. And they mention all coins and tokens beside Monero. Because Monero with non transparent ledger currently dont fit in the scheme. And they have no ideas what to do with it so they ignore it. By ignoring they give no free marketing to Monero but give time to develop to get stronger.

Ignore, laugh, fight, you win.

It seems we are only at start. And we will have plenty of small disappointments on the way.

I agree with that. I think the value of XMR will be realized eventually.

Not more than $5000 just like many people is thinking that it will be in a few years, but i think that it will be much more stable than what it is at the moment, and it will be good for newcomers.

When the market cap is larger, it will be more stable.

it is almost impossible for me to know for sure the price of ethereum by 2020. but according to some people in 2020 there will be a high rise for bitcoin and I think if it happens then the ethereum will also go up.

I think it is between 5 to 10k USD.

Monero will be bloomed this year i am sure about it base on my own observation it will go ride with bitcoin.

The Monero price is almost the same as the ZCash now. It might be more than ZEC in the next few months.

I agree. I think the Bitcoin is the store of value and use for trading. The bitcoin cash is a kind of money for daily use.

So lots of people are talking about monerov. What  about monero classic? http://monero-classic.org /
github:https://github.com/monero-classic/monero
Looks like it is different from moneroclassic.org

I think these two are different. I will stick with the Monero supported by the GPU network with much bigger community.

Suddenly change the algorithm is unwise, and many investors are losing money. It's like kids playing house.

ASIC resistance is a good thing as it keeps the network truly decentralized

I heard the Monero PoW is supposed to be ASIC resistant. So it is not unusual to change PoW.

1070 is good in my opinion But RX 580 also perform well with ETH

That is right. The ETH mining is still quite profitable.

RX 580 if you can buy it with MSRP..only then you can see some $$.

RX 580 is best for mining ETH. The 1070 is also good. But that is too expensive.

Another news on the same topic:

Novogratz: Bitcoin Price to Reach $10,000 This Year
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-end-year-10000-mike-novogratz/

So what's up with this "$10,000" thing?   Cheesy

that is just a nice full number. But if it does reach that, the next stop could be $20,000. I will hold for the long term.

I have a pair of GTX650 bought in 2012 still running BOINC at 100% 24/7. Air cooled, fans on Auto, no OC with an open case. Had various other GTX running for 5 years plus no problems all on Boinc or Folding@home.

Only added Team Red to the farm since starting Alt Coin mining in last year so not sure on those, but Team Green can certainly do 5 years no problems at all.

Those date back to the days when cards had fan curves from the manufacturer designed to keep the cards COOL, instead of the current insanity of putting "quiet" as FAR MORE IMPORTANT than "cool".

EVGA in particular had major issues with it's early 1070 models because the FAN CURVE WAS SET WAY TOO LOW (despite them pointing at "didn't have thermal pads on the VRM models", the cards last just FINE and stay plenty cool enough if you turn the fans up past the factory-default UNDER 40% AT 80C insanity - the actual final FIX out of EVGA was a BIOS change that turned the fan curve up to more like 50% at 70C).

Factory default fan curves on ANY recent card are set crazy-low, and ignore the possibility of the card being used in a "compute" capability (the manufacturer wants you to pay the crazy-expensive price for their "professional" or "workstation" cards instead even though they tend to use the SAME GPU and the SAME ram and have an INFERIOR cooling solution so they have to clock them a TON lower to keep cool).

I always use MSI afterburner to set the fan curve. And I only use 70% of the rated maximum power.

Bitcoin is only popular because of its price and only in the internet. USD is popular all over the world and use even in public conveniently. They have their own purposes, let's just say that bitcoin can do something and USD can't and vice versa.

That is right. However, when the bitcoin becomes more widely used, people will prefer bitcoin in the future.

The maximum temperature it rises to is 94 degrees.
That's a lot. I am trying to keep mine gpu around 70-75 degrees

I run at those temperatures when the fan speed is about 40-50%.
