Re: How Bitcoin is better than other coins?

I gotta step in on this one, because there's a huge amount of people defending bitcoin.

Well at the technical level it's no the best currency in the market, there are other currency with way better tech out there, some created to scale where bitcoin can't, others bring true anonymous transactions, and so on... each one has it's own purpose, and a good bunch are better than bitcoin.

There's also a lot of shitcoin, i would say 90% of the crypto market is complete garbage, this makes bitcoin a safe bet compared with the overall options.

The main reason why bitcoin is still the reference coin in the crypto scene, it's because it's pretty much the father of all currencys, it's been around longer than any other, it's one of the few that can be exchanged to FIAT.

It's also the one used in all exchange pairs, so it's dominance has nothing to do with technology or quality and more to do with market adoptance.

From my perspective at this point i don't think bitcoin is any good at all, extremely volatile, speculation all over the place, it also eclipses a lot of good projects that are buried beneath the shitcoins and bitcoin, projects that actually have great future prospects and can innovate using blockchain.

It's a great coin for investors, traders and speculators, it's a crap coin in the real world. Seriously, no serious application is gonna use bitcoin as a payment the way it is now... it would be suicide to accept payments from something that devalues 20% in a single day.

But hey, you can sure make a lot of money from it Smiley i'll give you that.

Re: The recent price rise is really bad news for Bitcoin

I'm not an expert on the matter, but from the way i see it a volatile and unstable market like what we've seen this past month with bitcoin, is not good for any currency that aims to have real world usage.

No platform in it's right mind is gonna accept bitcoin payments, when bitcoin can pump or dump 20% in 2 hours. That's just insane.

If bitcoin isn't a stable and acceptable currency by most platforms than it's just a speculative bubble, and as any bubble you can make LOTS of money in a short timespan, but you can also lose a lot.

For small time holders and investors this is one shitty position to be in, for trader whales this is heaven.

Bitcoin will not die out and the crypto market is gonna grow for sure, but if bitcoin doesn't stabilize bad things are gonna happen to it and it's gonna cause mayhem on the crypto markets.

Altcoins price fluctuation newbie question

Hi nice people,

I have a question about alt coins. Bitcoin is the main crypto used for FIAT exchange, if the alt coins can't be exchanged to FIAT and have to first be exchanged to bitcoin and then FIAT. Doesn't that mean, that as long as the exchange rate from Bitcoin --> Altcoin remains the same, when bitcoin goes UP alt coins go UP, and when Bitcoin goes down altcoins go down.

In other words unless you can exchange the altcoins to FIAT they are only valuable while bitcoin is valuable, and that doesn't sound like a good thing to me.

Am i missing something here?

So i'm new to cryptocurrency, actually just started 2 days ago, was reading about cryptocurrency, and stumbled upon Neblio and decided to go for it.

Now i'm holding about 600$ worth of Neblio on Cryptopia, which i'm fairly certain it will reach at least 2x, but aiming at x4 early next year to be honest.

Anyway, i want to sit on the Neblio for a while, but i don't want to have it hostage on an Exchange, so what are the best and safer solutions, Desktop and Online to hold he currency?

New to CryptoCurrency - Starting on Neblio, what do you think?

Hi guys,

I'm new to cryptocurrency, and was wondering what you guys think about Neblio?

From what i've seen and read looks like it's going to hit big on the 1st quarter of 2018, but i'm new to this so what do i know.

What got me look into Neblio:

  • Good Roadmap, with the rest api coming soon
  • Support for a lot of languages
  • It's still fairly unknown
  • In the short time it's been out has kept a steady growth rate, when the overall cryptocurrencys, are oscillating like crazy
  • It has dominated a smaller market, i'm anticipating it will climb a lot once it reaches the bigger exchanges

I'm not much of a technical guy or experienced at investing, so this was what i managed to scrap from researching around the web,
