Having a standard protocol for Web3 gaming is important because it allows developers to easily code complicated games that rely on distributed cryptography for things like shuffling cards, rolling dice, and many other types of game actions (simultaneous blind moves, random number generation, etc.). These fundamentals are needed by almost every class of game.

There are multiple teams working on this but recently the Web3 Foundation recently made headways into this by doing a grant to one such project.

Is this the beginning of fully decentralized gaming, gambling, and casinos? They seem to also be looking into adding these features into the Polkadot ecosystem via cross-chains and NFTs.

Technologically, it did it a long time ago (just like there are other coins superior in tech to ETH already) but in price and market adoption? Who knows, it could happen but it will probably take a long time, especially since there's not the same amount of institutional investment in ETH yet. Impossible? No, but very hard road ahead. Depends on if you consider stable coins as alt coins, that's the only way I see right now in the space that another coin can take over bitcoin, a massive dump of fiat into the crypto fiat to be able to trade bitcoin and alt-coins freely.

People should just boycott and stop using Coinbase. It's not even that good anyway, you should keep most of your crypto on your own wallets and then there are other exchanges you can use like Binance or Bittrex.

I already told my friend I would sell it when the new one arrives, I trust that he wouldn't go snooping around anyway but I'd probably go for a combination of moving to a new wallet + wiping thoroughly with multiple software options.

Maybe sane minds on the inside finally managed to get them to buy a massive chunk of BTC, and NOW that they are holding, they claim it's undervalued to pump their bags.

It doesn't have a classic hard-drive. It has an NVME, its already at the top of the performance chart hard-drive wise. I'll probably end up buying a new NVME to replace it before the new one arrives.

Yeah I think paranoia would lead me into this conclusion eventually, NVMEs are not that expensive anymore these days so its not that big of a expense.

I'm faced with this very question myself. I just bought a new laptop, and it is on the way - my old laptop already has a new owner waiting for her. Still, I used to do a lot of crypto stuff with this laptop, and I'm afraid a regular drive wipe won't be enough to get rid of all my private key stuff that could give access to my crypto to someone else...

So other than doing a regular wipe, maybe 2 or 3, what would you do to guarantee that those keys are not recoverable? Or should I just surrender to my paranoia, buy a new drive, and take out the current one? I'm pretty sure people here have faced this very question here.

Freedom = It allows you to transact with people all across the globe without intermediaries or crazy high bank fees. It is as close as we have come to actual global money.

Adoption = It has taken more than a few of us would like to achieve decent adoption, but its slowly getting better.
