I use this to remotely reboot pwr on/off my rigs

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32641809240.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4duNVoA1

You can install a software that comes with the relay on a local PC with Awesome Miner, my mining farm is like 200 km away from my home. I only go there for cleaning and repair, last time was like 6 months ago

Re: XFX Radeon RX 570 8GB, good for mining?
by

on 21/04/2020, 16:52:03 UTC

Can you please help me? I have a couple of RX 570 8gb RS XXX (exact model RX-570P8DFD6) Hynix memory, tried 10 bioses, whenever I undervolt the card, it is crashing on SMOS, this is the only stable setting but it is too much power.
Heck I event asked XFX official support to sent me their bioses, tried them stock, modded with polaris bios editor (the straps with one click) still same results Sad

Max and stable OC settings:

Core clock 1140
Mem clock 1900
voltage 1087 (default if I lower it the rig crashes)
PowerStage 3
Aggressive undervolt off
29 mhs for 150watts

As I said above mining on SMOS without risers, directly on a new motherboard so the hardware is not faulty.

I had exact same cards, most of them could do 30,5~31 but with following settings in OverdriveNTool under Win

Core clock 1165-1175
Mem clock 1900-1920
voltage 900 -925

Orginal BIOS with PBE, give us PSU model and W also the motherboard model

I am using SMOS for that card haven't tried OverdriveNTool in Win. Also tried the Original BIOS with PBE one click, still the same issue.

Motherboard:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B450M-A/overview/

PSU:
https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/power-supplies/v-series/v750/

Can you please tell me the memory type in your cards?
I have tried the same model of card with Micron memory and it is rock solid 31mhs on 850mv with 1160 Core and 2000 Memory, the problem is with Hynix Sad

Most of them where Hynix some Epida....the strange thug is your voltage

I am managing a few rigs for some of my colleagues and everything is going well with Phoenix miner mining Ethereum. However most of them have 4Gb cards while I see the epoch right now is 3.44Gb and I think won’t be long before 4Gb cards stop mining.Except that switching to Monero,is there any other viable option for these cards  or should I consider them done?
The only option you have left is Monero, its the second most profitable coin to mine presently as per whattomine mining result, Monero changed their algorithm weeks back and it did lower the difficulty and transfer fee as well, you should give Monero a try

you recovered from coma recently ?

Monero is CPU minable only

It could display 80W in GPU-z but I am wondering what his VDDC is. If he somehow got some high 99% ASIC quality GPU where he can run it at 1236Mhz core while undervolted to the min like 0.80V and has some good quality memory which doesn't give memory errors at 2180Mhz.

I had issues running some GPUs at a small undervolt if they were over 1150Mhz, and 1236Mhz would be very difficult to get very stable to the point where you don't need to restart it daily.

He could of just used uber straps or that tool called Pimp my straps to get those speeds.

I seriously doubt that 1236 can run on less then 0.85-0.87V

I'm not saying that 33Mhs isn't possible, just not at 80W, people need to understand that goal is to run miners with the best possible hashrate/consumption ratio, I'm pretty sure if neglect the consumption we could easily reach 34-35 Mhs

RX 480 8GB speed 33 MH/S Power 80 watts

what mem / timings are you using here?
1236/2180

this wouldn't display 80W even in GPU-Z

I NEED HELP PLEASE!!

I got a single RX 470 MSI Armor edition, core clocked to 1400MHz and memory to 2145MHz, +50% limit power, Voltage parameteres on Auto. Using Wattman, drivers 19.8.1. Card reaches its max power (127w).
I use nicehash to mine, I get about 45mh/s mining Lyra2rev3, and sometimes it switches to phoenixminer and does 22mh/s, using above 100w. But then, after like 3-4 minutes, it caps at 90W and does only 11Mhs, so it auto-switches back to TeamRedMiner (lyra2rev3). Is this a bug or does the programs limits the card to 90W for some reason?

Note* Card reaches 127W with full load on other miners as well.

Normal behavior with Phoenix Miner. In fact the drivers hangs so the hasrate is reduced.

With Phoenix Miner and good settings you can reach +30Mh/s depending your memory.

My settings : 1140 MHz@900mV  for GPU, 2040 MHz and if you put the RXBoost option with AMDTweakMemory you get extra h/s normally your GPU will be around 75 W.

hmm... Do you think you are actually qualified to give an advice on the subject?
1) driver does not "hang" in a way that "hasrate is reduced", it may get to 0 but its usually not the driver
2) 900 mv is not a good voltage
3) with all the tools available today for ploaris you should expect over 30mh and up to 33 (again at lower then 900mv)
4) I hope you understand that the power consumption numbers you are discussing here is total crap. His card on stock voltage and 1400 core consumes around 200W

Mine 1170~1180 core on 875mV, that should be doable

has anyone experienced a constantly decrease in hashrate 1070 and p104 cards? P104 drops hashrate from 40 to 39 in last 2-3months, same settings. Any workaround?

Hm. I have the same problem. Two 1070 cards of 6 have decreased its hasrate. I thought it is because these cards work much time. Nothing was changed in configuration files, MSI Afterburner was not updated, Phoeninx miner was not updated too.

u need to increase by +150 the core of the 1070.... like power 108watt core +150 mem +550 should go to 31.2mh per card!!

what about power limit?

Regarding ASIC fine tune config is it possible to add manual frequency and voltage in addition to predefined profiles? AM firmware has an option to upload config inside the network to other ASICs.

In general it would be much better to have all the options from chain freq. config inside AM....

It looks like the latest FW doesn't have ELPM (or OC profiles as the pervious FW)

Most likely people started burning there S9 so bitmain decided to remove these options

Hi,
I am using the latest version of Awesomeminer and Gminer on my rigs for mining Beam in Leafpool. The issue is Awesomeminer shows $0 profitability of mining this coin. I tried to use miniz, previous versions of Gminer, and entering the JSON address of Beam in Whattomine to Awesomeminer but the issue has not been solved. Why does that happen?

I fully understand the concept for AW firmware for S9, on the other hand you are basically giving your user base to VNISH without any benefit to you or your customers (if i got it right you don't participate in 2% fee). There is a lot of additional features you can add to this firmware which would make a great tool for larger farms. I bet if you would lower fee to say 1% and make FW work only with AM (something like ASICseer has) this would produce more gains to you and VNISH as well.
In order to incentives you customers to switch to "your" firmware there needs to be some kind of exclusivity and gain...

Hey esol. Similar to the other board member here, I am not seeing the same issues on my test miner as you are. The disconnects on the pool db you showed are very strange.  Not sure what else to say!

Would be curious to see your settings you used...

I have been an awesome miner user for many years now and have no reason to think anything shady is going on here.

I think he missed in initial post this line

Quote
With a total hashrate of 15TH/s, no more than 0.3TH/s will be used for the mining fee.

The mining fee consist of two pools named DevFee that are running mining in parallel with a slow speed mining. Please note that because of the slow speed these two pools are working with a very low difficulty level, resulting in that they will produce quite high number of accepted shares. A high number of shares doesn't indicate that the DevFee pools are taking all hashrate - it's a result of the low difficulty level for each of the shares.

Like i said testing showed that everything is in line.

I have 50 workers on this fw for testing, everything is in line, payouts, pool graph on btc.com ...

Not saying that this fw is a miracle  but 20-25% dev fee would raise alarm long time ago in original AM thread.
Also i'm pretty sure that AM, HiveOS (same VNISH FW) wouldn't support something that could hurt there clients in anyway...

Also accepted column in status page is not what you think it is...

Thank you for the 1st useful info about it.
I had a feeling that it might be an existing firmware that has been re-skinned. I'll keep this thread open for the rest of the week but if there is no further input, after the week is over I'll be locking the thread.

Well nothing much to say, decent firmware doing what is supposed to do (must admit like it more the BraiinOS) you could keep it open in case something new pops up. For now people might share there settings since orginal AM thread is filed with GPU talk.

What settings did you use to achieve this result?  Been playing around with diff auto-tune settings, but haven't been able to get my W/Th that low.  Thanks!!

set chains to 640~650 and voltage per chain 8.4, do the chip auto tune in steps of 2 and 2 min also mark "Reset chip freq and clear log (set all chip to global freq)". also set "HR from ideal" to 80%.

Depending on the quality and condition of your ASICS this can take from 30 min to 6 hours.

After you done on mining status window you can check which chain is the closest to ideal, in most cases that chain can be further undervolted to 8.3 (even 8.2) with out crossing the 80% mark from ideal hashrate.

Some miners can handle this some don't, found this to be the optimal setting. Some claim that on higher freq you can achieve even better Th/W ratio but its summer (and a very hot one in EU) so didn't try it yet.

And what do you mean by that? Web version can be installed easily using the web ui update firmware button. This only works with factory firmware from 2018 or earlier, because manufacturer decided to lock the miners in 2019, and requires one of the different methods for unlocking first.

Mass deployment can be done by using a python script. For automated post configuration (stage3) you need to use the earlier version from may because of bug.

Well you said it your self, not really user friendly. Also bear in mind if you wish to revert back to original firmware (without backup from SD card) and only have windows its not a very intuitive task.
