Perfect response - it is to share with people who don't know much (if anything) about Bitcoin, great to hear you say that.

HEY thanks, just saw this post thru a twitter feed - the link is now up on vimeo.com/thebitcoindoco

Doco is short for documentary - we Australians shorten names where we can... blame the sun.

BRILLIANT IDEA.. however I can't get the listings to show... have followed the instructions, tried listing them with payment:bitcoin, and payment:bitcoin=yes, neither show. Are there any written detailed instructions to follow?

Sorted, now have double ups that I'm deleting. Didn't realise I had to enter yes in the second column.

How do we get merchants on board with Bitcoin? (I've got time & money)

KUDOS to you! I'm approaching Melbourne businesses and will be adding to the takemybitcoin list.. my focus is on brickandmortar more-so than online businesses, we've got some high traffic tourist areas which could do with some bitcoinacceptedhere stickers. From the research I've done I'm recommending CoinJar to the traders I approach, they're based here and offer very similar services to BitPay, with a faster turnaround for bank transfers. Can you add them to the payment processors list for Aus merchants?

Great stuff, very smart investment of time and money.

he's obviously upset he didn't buy in at 1c per coin... at that time though he was learning how to use a mouse, it was just all too much.

Realise there's probably a very obvious answer, and I'm going to ask anyway - what would I need for people to be able to pay me in fiat and have bitspend convert that money to bitcoin? I don't want to provide a service or product, just want to be able to convert fiat to BTC. Is that possible already?? Have checked coinbase out, that sounds great however it doesn't work in Australia (yet).

VERY GREAT to hear this is working... shame it wasn't last week, when I was wracking my brain on how to buy an airfare with bitcoin I remembered the site that could buy whatever I wanted with bitcoin. Couldn't remember the name, put the question up in reddit and sure enough somebody linked me. Dammit though, site was down. I wanted to see if you could book a flight from Melbourne to Peru. Would you have been able to do it? Too late now, I'm leaving tomorrow. Flights would be a great thing to be able to pay for with bitcoin.

Have a great trip and the next time, we really look forward to helping you purchase your airline tickets!

FANTASTIC... I'll certainly give you the challenge next time I need a ticket out!

Yeah, have done lots of research and am taking it seriously.. have got a few issues that get me stuck in a circle, would like to step out of the loop and take a look at what's going on. I have this feeling that's what's going to happen and I might not like what I see, I'm OK with that.

Will be interesting to see if anything crops up on BTC, it's certainly a question I'll be asking - what is the future for bitcoin?

You can smoke DMT?Huh might be opting for that too by the time I'm finished!

Ayahuasca retreat in Peru accepts BTC

These guys accept bitcoin for two week aya retreats in Iquitos http://www.amaruspirit.com/retreats/ Haven't personally been (yet) to recommend or not, a friend has been raving about her journeys so I'm going by her progress since she's been taking this medicine. She's really moved ground with some personal issues, got herself sorted with her business, is a lot more focussed and charged with her goals. Have also found a really cool place in LA on airbnb that accepts BTC too, a great stopover on the way to Peru!

HA... while I've been waiting to jump thru the newbie hoops I've found an airbnb that will accept bitcoin... which is not surprising considering the space: https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/708776... maybe the newbie space IS the space to trade/shareinformation/connect. To think I've been pulling my hair out in frustration at not being able to post new topics, when I could have been doing it here in this very newbie space!

I've been tweeting/retweeting posts from here for months, have just got a dude in Peru to accept BTC for ayahuasca retreats, am looking for airbnb'ers who'll accept bitcoin and I want to be able to post requests here plus let people know any discoveries I'm making.

Apologies for posting this here, have spent 30mins trying to work out how to post a new topic. There's no option anywhere for me to do that, really wanted to post this in the marketplace:

I'm going to Peru for an ayahuasca retreat next week, and the dude there accepts bitcoin now... just in case there's anybody out there that wants to indulge in a mindblowing experience!!! http://www.amaruspirit.com/retreats/

Also wanted to share, I've been giving away bitcoin the last two weeks and have had mindbending conversations with friends as I've answered their questions with my limited knowledge. So far one dude now has mining equipment and proudly owns .00034 BTC, he  is now talking about investing in the ASIC mining rig, another is testing it out with his savings for a holiday in June, all of them now have wallets and are exploring what bitcoin is. Together we're discussing possibilities FOR trading openly and creating our own terms/conditions. Liberating!

I LOVE BITCOIN.

Hi... I'm MAD... invested in BTC a few months ago after researching it for a while. Love the thought of a non centralized banking system and the whole idea of open source. Would really like to connect with Melbourne bitcoiners, looks like the only way to do that is on facebook. Not my thing... are there any in this forum?

After watching Frank Braun on the KeiserReport I've got a few questions - how do I get a holographic bitcoin, is anyone talking about a silver bitcoin, and how do I get stickers for shops around Melbourne??? Are there any projects to promote bitcoin? I agree with Frank about OTC, and think it'd be great to get some physical currency into the world.

Cheers!
