I predict disappointment. Call me a cynic but for all bitcoin's benefits I just don't think the general public will see it or feel the need to use it. Best we can hope for is the remittance market to adopt it but even if they did I think the banks and money transmitters would take not and just lower their fees or something.

Re: What will happen if Bitcoin reach 1 USD exchange rate?
if bitcoin reaches 1$ its going to 0$ in the following 3 seconds.
Doubt it. It wouldn't even get that far because people would just put in massive buy orders. Bitcoin would be in trouble long before it ever reached that price though. Even if it dropped to sub 100 miners would be mining for free most likely/
Bitcoin was an awesome experiment. We all learned a great deal of cool stuff.
But let's face it - it is probably over now. With this major fracture and groups of core devs fighting and going in two directions, it can be long before the whole package unravels. But all is OK! No problem. Something great will rise from its ashes. Maybe that new system will be called Phoenix. There is no doubt a great new crypto will soon take bitcoin's place.
Bitcoin is an experiment not was, but it's far from over. Let the future reveal that not just spread fud and make half assed speculative guesses on something you cannot know. Bitcoin will likely get through this whole fiasco soon enough.
I strongly feel there will be a big bubble because of the halving hype, maybe bitcoin can also expect some media interest as bitcoin sale spike up, then the halving process will take its toll on the bitcoin price and then eventually the price will notice increase attracting even more people. That's when it matters, if things continue to go the way they are for bitcoin, then I expect btc to be less volatile too.
I also think this. I think whatever happens many people are going to think there's going to be a dramatic rise so they'll buy like crazy which will then have an effect on the price, but the bubble will burst again eventually. I'm looking forward to what happens though.
i choose gold, dold is investation for long time, but if bitcoin having fluctuation. but both is good.
You signed up to post that? How do you know bitcoin can't be an investment for long time? I think bitcoin could take over the world eventually and if it did the value of bitcoin would go through the roof.

Nah, they wont adopt it in any significant amount but some of their citizens will surely use it as an alternative. They'll probably go back to their old currency soon enough.
Is it better to save money in bank or invest it online, in real estate or maybe gold?
If you want to invest online then Bitcoin is the best and only choice. This is perfect time to invest in Bitcoin,Real estate and even in gold. After recent economic crisis real estates prices have reached almost to half prices and gold has also stable price.I would say future belongs to Bitcoin as day by day we hear news about adoption and more adoption.
It's not the only option to invest online. There's plenty of ways to invest online.
So, this movie will be a documentary movie? I don't like this kind of movie so much, cause I can't understand it. And this movie is about BTCitcoin, so it will be hard to understand
By the looks of it he's thinking a Hollywood blockbuster so it'll be the story of bitcoin or a 'based on true story' type drama.
I'd love to know how you make a movie that will inevitably be set almost entirely on the internet (or dark web in the case of SR). Has any movies like this already been made? Can't imagine some geek sat at his computer clicking on a keyboard will be very exciting.
You could argue that The Social Network is largely Internet-based, but it has non-Internet stuff happening as well. It's just a matter of what you focus on.
That was more looking at the drama of the beginnings. Most of it didn't actually concern the website but all the trouble surrounding it.

I think the only thing ulbricht got framed by was his own stupidity. It will be interesting to see if he gets a retrial due to this new 'evidence' though. I'm on the fence about him on a whole though but it would be nice to get the truth of the whole story.

Good idea but like others have said it needs some work on design. I don't know how effective it will be but a good resource to send people who have misconceptions about bitcoin would be useful.

I think it's just a natural progression, but I think there was a disappointing number of big companies getting involved both last and this year. I think the adoption rate will pick up at some point (hopefully) but it's been very slow in my opinion. I think there's much more smaller companies adopting bitcoin and those are just as important in my opinion so we shouldn't forget them.

I don't think their glorious leader will be very happy about his citizens using btc. Besides, there's barely any internet coverage over there where there is its likely very censored and limited.
Try using http://satoshibox.com. It is very easy to use all you need is upload your ebook and send your links to potential buyers. They can't download it if they didn't pay.
Also try cryptothrift.com I saw some books has been sold there.
I was going to suggest satoshibox too. Beware though as soon as someone has a digital copy of your book they will likely just leak or share it but I guess that's something you'll just have to deal with. Good luck.

Re: 2015-02-08 CA - "Bitcoin Can Even Be a World Currency In its Truest Form"

I think bitcoin could be a one world currency as much as that might alarm conspiracy theorists. As long as it's decentralized and not issued by a one world government then it's fine by me.
I think Blockchain.info is the widely used block explorer.
It is, but I think that fact that it's also a wallet is a big driver in traffic. Many casually users seem to think it is the 'official' bitcoin one too.

I don't think there's any better reason to keep my bitcoins than the current price. Why would I sell them for so little? The value is in the network which is still strong and I think this will be realized eventually. Keep holding guys. It's not over till it's over.

I have absolutly no idea, though I do know more merchants will get involved which is good, but will the price reflect this? Who knows but I'm looking forward to finding out. I'm sure it'll be an exciting year regardless.
