There is a growing demand now for wearable technology. And I see it’s appeal –you get to stay connected and productive, without any hassles. So yeah, I don’t mind using AR glasses, especially if it will come with fun features as well, and not just techie stuff.

Interesting post. And I agree that we are somewhat entering an age of truth. I say this because of the advancement of technologies. AI as well as the decentralized nature of blockchain will allow for better transparency, correct? Decentralization is already helping eliminate fake news from the net.

Re: China as the next global AI superpower?
by
MaJes-ty
on 30/11/2018, 00:27:13 UTC
I think any one country becoming the global "superpower" of AI is unsettling.

As utopian as this sounds, the only way AI's evolution can be a positive thing is if we develop it collectively to create a post-scarcity world. It's the fight for resources in a resource-scarce world that fuel such competition in the first place.

Approaching AI from a competitive angle could end in humans being killed off.

Or, it could be this competition that could help bring out some of the best AI technology we've ever seen. These innovations could be life-changing (in a good way) don't you think?

I think it's part of human nature to want to explore. Plus, travelling is a great form of escape. It's the best way to unwind and de-stress.

Re: Are You Afraid To Die?

Yeah.. I’m not afraid to admit that I’m afraid to die. I’m not ready to leave my loved ones, and I can’t imagine not being able to do the things I enjoy doing. And I think it’s this uncertainty that makes me want explore anything that will help prolong my life. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, and if a certain technology or scientific advancement would be available to help me live longer, I’d probably grab that opportunity. Who doesn’t want the chance to live a long life? And aren’t their projects now devoted to exploring the possibility of immortality? That should give us hope, at least.

Oculus Quest which is labeled as the first VR console will be launching next year. Maybe people are waiting for that? Some say it could help push VR towards going mainstream. What do you think?

In some sense we already have digital immortality - take a look at FB with all the accounts of the deceased... Well obviously noone manages them or is active. But that already is like a graveyard. What feel will digital immortality give. Quite eerie thought really.

But it's sort of comforting to know that in some way, we can use technology to save both the planet and humanity.

I think gratitude is very important. If you count your blessings and focus on them, you'd feel more positive about life.

Try to buy produce from farms instead of supermarkets. And cooking your own food is cheaper than eating out.

Re: does money influence the health of a person

I think it's easier for a wealthy person to stay healthy because money can buy personal chefs, trainers, etc.
