I decided to switch to LRP, which deleted my customers pools since I got no response. Insanely frustrated with this whole switch.

Indeed, I threw a 750W Gold Thermaltake on it and it's hashing like a beast. I'm gonna keep the one that's powering the MB / 2 Cards though. Seems to be a problem of how it's made and how the power is distributed, not the actual wattage.

Second PSU Keep Turning Off
by
MadMatt
on 01/03/2014, 00:17:36 UTC
Hello, before I start I'll post my specs

-970A DS3P MB
-5x Sapphire 7950 3GB Boost
-5x Powered 1x to 16x Risers
-4GB DDR3 Ram
-Sempron 145
-2x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116019 (NOTE: It actually has 2x 8Pin, 2x 6+2 Pin, Newegg and NZXT's website are wrong; this makes me have to use 6x Molex - 6Pin PCIe adapters to power 3x cards)

I have it set up so that PSU #1 powers 2x Cards, 5x Risers, the MB and all the other components. PSU #2 is suppose to power 3x Cards, and nothing else.

It starts up fine and runs good, but when I start hashing, PSU #2 turns off essentially instantly. I tried it so that PSU #2 only had 2x Cards on it, same thing, it powered down instantly. This makes no sense since PSU #1 can power 2x Cards and all the other components, and it gets even weirder, it hashes fine when PSU #2 only has 1x Card hooked up. I also swapped them around, and swapped in a brand new one I had laying around of the same brand / model; same result. I have a feeling it's because it can't handle all the power through the Molex - PCIe adapters?, but PSU #1 is powering one of the cards with 2x Molex, so I'm not exactly sure... Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Things I've tried:
-Swapping PSU's around, and swapping in another - brand new PSU
-Instead of using Add2PSU, I've shorted out the green/black wire to make sure it wasn't a problem with the 2x PSU connector
-I've powered the risers with the same PSU that is powering the cards
-Tried several different combinations of powering the cards / risers

Things I'm going to try:
-Hook up a 850W that has 6x 6Pin PCIe cables once my lease is done on one of my other rigs!

somebody please tell me why someone would rent a rig for x btc when they could just buy more than they could mine from an exchange?  wouldn't this be more profitable if you accepted paypal for those that down already have btc to trade with?

Coins that aren't on exchanges yet.. etc..

The whole point of this service is to offer your rig if you dont want or dont have time to scout for coins, but still want to make a bit more than on multipools, being paid in advance. Else you shouldnt offer your rig.

But at the rate that middlecoin is going today, it does look like they may hit .016-.017 BTC/Mh/day today...  Cry with my rigs rented for another 60hours at .0158 BTC/Mh/day

Oh no!  You might lose out on a potential $2-3 USD Sad

Actually if it reaches .017 thats a 5.80 loss per day for me, what to speak if it keeps going up, and for another 2 and a half days, that a potential $15+ dollar loss, or .02BTC

What about when middle coin was lower than that and you were renting your rig > .02 You din't complain then did you

Who would complain about making more? Your statement is invalid

The price just got killed when the list got sorted by price. Every ones now trying to compete to be on the top of the list. PLUS there's WAY too many miners.. This is going down hill fast

You could be able to get them running if you undervolt them enough, but seems like this is causing problems. I would suggest using something like Add2Psu if you get another PSU or there's guides on how to get 2 PSU's running together w/ a paperclip

The amount of cores and speed (ghz) of the CPU is what determines the hashrate in my experience (and other CPU specs). Ram does not.

I would also only keep 3 running on the 1000w while you're trying to set it up if that's the only PSU you're using. Seems like very little for 4 and everything else that needs power, I could be wrong though.

Download Trixx, you can change core clocks and voltages while they're hashing to get real time results. Once your change them in Trixx though, they all drop down in speed by like 10-15 hash and come right back up, so wait a second til' you gauge a reading.

They should be more stable at lower core clocks, that's why you start lower and work your way up, not the other way around

I don't think it's the CPU, haven't heard of one bottlenecking a system. Hard drive speed has no bearing on performance... Post your bat / config

Took 30 minutes to download Win 8.1 and an hour to reformat and install. It'll be quicker than finding out a solution no one has

Some OS's that you can download off torrents have virus's/hacks already in them so there's no way to detect them (Not saying this is it). If this is giving you a huge problem, I would just reformat and install a new OS
