Je suis totalement en phase avec ton explication.

Le développeur est très disponible sur Stack et surtout semble très motivé par la technologie et non l'appât du gain à court terme.

Re: Advice on Mining Farm Buildout
by
Madychoux
on 12/06/2017, 13:44:14 UTC
Your crazy imo haha

1070's ? dude your like a YEAR too late to build a farm with those lol, you are gonna be lucky to ROI probably before they start bring in like 1$ a day each Sad

Plus all that wasted space, did you not consider DENSITY LONG TERM?

New mining specific cards are coming out that are gonna DUST your whole farm if you have 1070's, did you consider THAT?

Im just getting RID of my old 1070 for POWERFUL cards, 1080, 1080ti, and stacking my coins for the new mining specific card + volta and vega

Like you literally picked the worse time to choose 1070, o and in 2 months or less they will be 1/2 price Cheesy

I've read about those cards, one article said they will not be available at the consumer level...isn't that rigging the game?

Another thing to think about is ETH switching to POS someday (this year?)

So you are saying he should go with 1080ti?  It's performance/watts vs price (and availability). I few sites (could be wrong) say the 1080 is only 18-20% faster...does that sound right?

Well there's ALWAYS something to mine, it's just WHEN ETH goes PoS (who knows when but COULD be 6 months from now) there's gonna be literally 1,000,000 hungry GPUs needing shit to mine, so those with 1070 (and 470/480) are gonna get SLAYED in profitability imo
IF we can GET tho miner cards, well thats to be seen, yes Smiley

There is hope tho!  New coins all the time and Nvidia can handle ANY algo like a champ unlike AMD, but to build a farm on that hope of new coins is SCARY to say the least.
Also, 1070 is at the  "end of its price point", it WILL go down soon 30 days even

1080 at 20% more powerful, and only 10-15% more price? seems logical to me! think RESALE as well
1080ti will NOT win in price for performance, but in 2 years it will still be profitable AND still resell well (if you get the good brands/models)
PLUS, ROI extends pretty fast when you have to buy WHOLE NEW RIGS every 5 cards just to keep up with 1080ti buyers :/
DENSITY

only my 2 satoshi's of course Cheesy  i own 1070's as well

Totally agree, we should wait for new gens GC and dedicated Mining GC...

Very interesting topic !

For the moment, I think it's better to invest fiat to crypto if you want to take the train quickly.
IMHO, I would wait for new specific NVIDIA/AMD harware coming soon because the difficulty will become insane !

New generation motherboards and graphic cards are on the way.
The question is to know if buying hardware now will be profitable after 3 month ?

So there isn't any CUDA 5.5 compatible updates ?  Huh Undecided

You actually need 6.0. Why the hell do you have a compute 5.0 card and a driver that doesn't even support compute 5.0 specific shit?

Cause I'm using Linux KopiemTu 1.4.

Waiting for the next 2.0 Release including latest Nvidia updates.

Curious which algorithim people mining and if they've calculated ROI recently?  It seems to me at .12cents kwh, there is no coin that can pay for electricity at the current BTC levels of sub $500.

Indeed....  Shocked Sad

Any chance to get a Profitability Calculator By KBomba 0.6b or 0.7 ?

I can't use it at the moment because of saving problems, so I'm totally lost in the altmining world !

Please, upload a new release  Grin.

I would be gladfull  Cool

I'm sorry for those who I've left waiting, but here is the latest release of my mining profit calc:

Profitability Calculator v0.6beta
- Rewrote most off the code behind hashrates, and made it a lot more customizable. Now you can add new mining algorithms yourself in a flexible way.
- Redesign of the GUI.
- Added custom coins. If one of the coin info APIs don't support your coin yet, add it yourself.
- Added C-Cex, Comkort, BTer, Atomic Trade & Cryptoine to the supported exchange APIs.
- Added profiles. This is not used by myself, so beware, not fully tested. Testers needed! Cheesy
- Loads of other bug fixes and improvements, as usual.

IN CASE OF ANY BUGS:
1) Try a fresh folder and remove any old settings or hashrates.
2) Try running as admin.
3) ?? ??
4) Profit!
5) If not, tell me Cheesy

Hi folks,

IS XCN more profitable than JPC by now?

With current BTC and JPC value I'm just paying electricity...  Undecided
You can add M7 algo to my profit calc Wink Just use 20 as Target (as explained in readme) and make sure you set up a XCN custom coin.

Well thanks a lot man !!!!

About the bugs :

- Calc currency, XXX/kWh, amount of GPU, are not saved.

Would it be possible that KBomba give us a new release of Profitability Calculator ?

Thanks, I use your incredible app every day even if nothing really worst mining for now
Busy, busy ^^" I'm working on making it possible to add custom algos and coins, so you won't have to rely on me to add algos or on coinwarz/whattomine/etc.. to add coins, alongside loads of other improvements, ofc.

Wow, so cool !

I'm just sad not to have the good compiler to get the new version with your latest commits.

Looks like we might be getting a PIMP for Cuda very soon. This was just posted by the PIMP team on reddit. This would give us the failover mechanism so many have been begging for.

Very good news for all Nvidia miners on Linux !

We should be glad having low energy consumtion cards !

If we were still mining on AMD/ATI cards, we would be loosing money...

i wonder why people still want to write on this topic .The dev now only thinks about $ and not releasing his private miner. Why do you even still thank him and want to donate btc?Just donate to new devs who releases xmr and new coin algorithms

Because if you guys actually gave back, we'd release private miners?

if u don't release private miner, how are we going to earn the BTC to give ?

private miner give advantage. That advantage for extra BTC earn can be given as donation.

We DO release them - then 99% of people don't donate, we realize that if we want to have food to eat, we need to sell them.
