The full extent of my mining operation. Peak temp of 35*

Loving the homemade UPS beneath the rig Smiley

Is that an avalon unit?

Agreed. A friend of mine and I were talking about doing something similar with 12v marine batteries. What batteries are you using there?
Yeah, it's a batch 2 avalon overclocked to ~85+ GHash

They are Die Hard platinums, but they are actually just rebranded Odyssey Pc1500/PC1700 depending on which size you buy.  Odyssey makes the finest lead acid batteries in the world, and being able to buy them at sears with a 3 year full replacement/7year pro-rated warranty is pretty cool, not that you'll need it.

A UPS is easy to make. It even gives you a nice convenient place to tie in any solar panels or wind energy you've got.

This thread is absolutely bizarre.

More of a way of giving something back instead of burning cycles for no reason

How is this guy a senior member? What is going on?

Block eruptor blade voltage requirements?
by
MagicMike523
on 10/07/2013, 16:00:19 UTC
I'm curious about the 12v input on the blades.  It says 12v 10a, but what is the voltage tolerance?  Can they be hooked directly to a battery at ~13v?  Can they handle 14v, or 11v and function normally?

I'd expect the regulators to have some tolerance built in, but does anybody know from experience what it is?

...aaaand he's gone. Wink

Hey Mike can you respond to my PMs? I'm 6hrs away...we can get this done today.

Sorry man, I'm not interested in any in-person trade that requires me to reveal my home address, puts my other possessions in danger.  Good luck

Got one with a power supply fan not working.  Seems like something they should have spotted while they were mining with it.

My DHL tracking page says my Avalon traveled from Beijing to Minneapolis in 4 days.
Email from DHL on July 3 said it would be delivered on Friday.
A phone call just now says it is handed off to another carrier for the last 180 miles, and will arrive on Tue, July 9.
I called about a 1/2 hour too late to have DHL hold it in Minneapolis so I could pick it up today.

Will you have to pay any customs duty in the USA?

No

Are you in Canada by any chance?

No, but I'm not terribly far away from Canada. I'm in PA

What kind of hash rate are you achieving per unit readily?

They have been stable at whatever I clock them at, but currently I'm running each at 315mhz clock with over 75ghash/each. My 10 block average is right at 150GHash for both. 80GHash+ is no problem with a higher clock

I've got two batch #2 units in hand hashing away.  The hash rate is incredible but my connection is starting to flake out, it's all but unusable while mining (which is always, obviously).

I'd like to get the bitcoins without the heat, noise, or lag.

Asking 155BTC per unit or 300 for both.

Re: ASICMINER Blade announcment predictions.

I heard power consumption will be decreased.  The original blades are 8.3 Watts per Giga Hash, so lets hope that gets cut in half.

That would put a 10GHash blade at 41 watts and a half blade at 20.5 watts.  A 20watt 5ghash miner with built in controller is absolutely perfect for my purposes.

I hope the price comes down quite a lot too.  But I'm not holding my breath

Wow! What are all those?

~15.5GH/s worth of Icarus miners.

Less than 1/4 the hash I get from a single black box. Of which I currently have two. Two more on the way.

We've come a long way in a short time

DHL just showed up with another unit.  They put it on the truck at 12 and it was here by 4:30....the hub is hours away.  They basically sent it out on its own truck, straight to me. Hells yeahs!

by

if taking them over the stock speed are you not prone to risking over heating less life time of chip and also void your warranty if something goes wrong with it?

I have been running for more than a month at 345-370MHz, it's still stable. When the chip hangs to overheating it seems to just stop and cool down, then you have to restart the unit...

I don't think there is any warranty to void in the first place Smiley

I don't think you know what stable means

Why are you guys not requesting a refund at this point?

Same reason you didn't I'm guessing.

I'm mining with my Batch #2 unit.

I know that.  Batch 3 ships right after batch 2 according to yifu.  I don't really think a couple weeks is going to make it ROI much later than yours.

Good luck with that, I guess.

Thank you.  All in all, the mining community is a very doom and gloom mindset.  In the history since I've been here, I've heard people say this and that are never going to be profitable, whether it's GPUs, FPGAs, or ASICs.  They have been wrong most of the time.  I will let the chips fall where they may.  Good luck to you too.

+1000000000000000000.

Everyone is so fucking anxious on this board. Every other post is a "Where is my order?! What hasn't it shipped? OMG OMG OMG NO ROI!!!11"
I do not blame Yifu at all for not appearing on the board frequently. Good for him for avoiding all the FUD.

I now, right? People get so needy when they've been lied to by somebody holding thousands of their money.

don't bother with solar panels 4 7950s use between 900 and 1200w depending on the brand of the cards ( i use 950w at the wall maximum )

if you give me a list of questions i will do my best to ancer them  Smiley

Are you kidding?  Skip the computer, just buy the panels.

The return is much better. Guaranteed 400%-500% return on investment over 30 years.

How much will a rig make?
