FUD

There are reasons why people with solo-mining capabilities are using BTCGuild. Simple interface, easy to setup.

What is the benefit of mining with BTCGuild over let's say Elgius?

Are you sure you want to solo mine? You will not really earn from solo mining now. It can take years to find a block.
I just thought i would try it on and off, I know the odds are not in my favor and pool farming is more steady/consistent but hey i might try a week or something and see if i get lucky. I do have 500gh/s of hashing.

Hi,

I'm curious if anyone has a link to setup a miner to farm solo with windows. I've seen a Linux guide, is there any for windows?

Very interesting. Really with the current difficulty you think you can still farm a block in an hour solo if i were incredibly lucky?

I've been round probably all the pools.  I always end up back to either BTCGuild or Eligius.  Eligius tends to be my favourite, mostly due to the 0% fees.  It's solid as a rock, too.
Thank you very much for the input. Is in not viable to farm solo ? I have a 500gh/s box

Anyone have some experience with this? Which is the best among eclipse/elgius or is there a better one altogether that has a better payout?

Any insight would be helpful and thank you in advance.

Trying to get my 500gh/s Minirig running
by

I've been having some trouble getting the minirig going. I've tried literally everything from connecting a usb cable to my pc to running straight off the nexus 7, i've also opened to the case to see if there is any loose cables. No luck on all accounts and Easyminer always says Number of devices = 0. There is only 1 female usb port in the back of a rig which requires a Male A to Male A. My pc doesn't recognize anything. I've tried VCP / zadig etc... nothing works.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Hey Mike you don't have to post like it's a letter to someone, it's just a random forum

so you there's no formatting rules or anything

oh ok sorry :/

just trying to figure out how to open the case LOL. But i can't post in the technical mining section

Yeah I'm not sure what torx it is, they should have just used Phillip's screwdriver sizes, that would have made the most sense
No they shouldn't, torx is the better choise for this stuff.
In fact, I don't even buy philips screws anymore if I can get my hands on the same size torx scews.

More on topic: most hardware stores have sets of ~10 torx bits for a couple of bucks. Since you probably need to buy 1 bit for your rig anyway why not buy the set.

I bought a whole set of hex and torx bits but the torx was only able to take two off the back. The side screws appear to be hexagonal and i get a 3/32 to fit inside and there is good tension but when i turn i hear a snap noise and there is no tension after sort of like the feeling when a screw becomes stripped.

Hi there my name is Mike,

I was wondering about the MiniRig from butterfly labs. Does anyone know which torx is used to take off the case?

Thanks,

Mike
