Re: Goodbye Blockchain. Hello Hashgraph.

I do not think Hashgraph will be as popular as Blockchain. Most of the members in the electronic money market believed in blockchain. There will not be a revolution that could overthrow the blockchain technology.
In my opinion, Hashgraph will not be enthusiastic welcome and will not be interested investors. That is the truth and you should accept it.

I do think that depends on the fact that PoW blockchains aren´t scaleable right now, but sure they will if lightning network and other things are realesed.
Also PoS and DPoS are good mechanism, but can they run the full transactions of the new york stock exchange and visa transactions on one blockchain ?

Thats whats Dan Larimers critism on Ethereum, that its slow, PoS changes what ? Its reducing energy cost because there is no mining, its more efficient, less cost intensive, more democratic (but those with lot of stakes have bigger consensus). But can it transact more than 100+ factor transactions per second than it is now ?
Point me out if I am wrong with that.
Good the Raiden Network can speed up the Eth network a lot, but its an addon, intrinsic technology is not changed.

Thats the thing where tangle and hashgraph have some big opportunities if they are faster than the first and second generation of blockchain coins like btc and ethereum.

Re: Siacoin $1 this year

as others said before : to much supply to get to this price (1$).
I dont see any chance that sia is going to have 10% share of the world wide cloud market.

Also my opinion is that hardware prices and storage prices for 1 TB sia are too low.
ROI is terrible, uptime must be 99,99% percent what is not possible to run that on a home pc system.
internet providers don´t provide 99,9% uptime, why should they ? thats only possible in data centers where the infrastructure is way better than copper or fiber to home wires.

Sia hosting is profitable when you have acess to:

cheap hardware without VAT
cheap electrical costs or solar energy at home
good internet connection which states that you have a expensive contract with a internet provider.

so hosting is only possible as running as a business, otherwise its really gambling. And for that there are better cryptoassets to speculate out there with better ROI and sharp ratio.

Hey guys,

I have msi gaming gtx 770 , and the temperature is constant at 64-67C  even after I overclocked it by +100 on core clock and +400 memory clock.

I am wondering if I increased the core clock to lets say 400 or 400 and memory clock to 800-1000 or the max I can reach and if the temperature is still below 70C will my gpu catch on fire or something?

https://i.imgur.com/sc29kPK.png

My GPU has 85C working for month with +100 core and 400 memory OC, but I have to say its GTX 1070. with better air airflow.

OC the coreclock +250 is not necessary why ? memory clock is important for mining.

Above 90 all GPU sooner or later will catch fire.
85C for GTX 1070 seems a bit much, they can run a lot cooler. AMD cards on the other hand...I just read how a dude has been mining with his R9 cards for over 4 years now, temps around 100C Grin.

Its a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW with 3 years waranty so I dont care so much haha
And it has good cooling.
Steady temperatures also when they are high aren´t so bad. Fluctuation like 60-85 C would be much worse right ? Thats what I heard.

Only with Neoscrypt its 85C
Equihash its 79C

Second GPU is 64C because its cooled from the card above xD

Ohhh, it's an EVGA 1070 FTW Cheesy, that explains it. They run cooler after you apply the "Thermal pad mod" to them. https://www.evga.com/thermalmod/thermal_pad_mod_installation_guide.pdf  Smiley

I am almost sure they are HODL'ing yesterday's altcoins before selling.   So far it's paying off because alt coins are going back up right now.   They figure what they are thinking "why sell at -30% when it will go up 30% the next day.. "
Nicehash? Altcoins?
Nicehash is not a pool, they are not operating with altcoins, but rather selling the hashpower

Exactly, they are only accepting payments in bitcoin and paying out in btc

Re: Important Lighting Network reading- for everyone!

Thanks for the share, lightning will boost the Bitcoin Network a lot. I think we can´t forecast the impacts, they will be big.
Unconfirmed transactions in future ? zero , hopefully.

Merchant payments will be only transfered over lightning channels and after transaction finished resent to the Chain, after lightning channel closes.
