hey everyone, i dont quite know what can be done here, but there is still 0.62gh/s being mined in scrypt, just randomly clicked here http://karm.multi-pool.eu/ where i used to mine to see if i had any coins left and that pool is mining 342Mh/s and globally there is 0.62Gh/s.
is there any way to tell these pools to shut down and stop mining and also how do you find out which the other pools are?
well looking at the last two block they found 257236 and 257235 , they do not add up to the x11 block explorer. therefore some of those miners will get upset to find out those coins are invalid
I looked for a contact link, none on karm.multi-pool.eu. The negative for KARM is if these 192 miners and whoever else is still mining Scrypt fork eventually raise a stink that their mining cycles were wasted... yes awareness of the switch is incumbent on miners but still there will be those who will throw mud on KARM for their bad experience and we could get into a negative press cycle.
So I recommend each of us to publicize the KARM X11 switch wherever possible. If we can contact pools and exchanges (I know the Karmateam has done a good job so far) that haven't changed that will be best for KARM!
Ahhh yes go back to around page 170 or so where multipool-eu try to insinuate stuff about other pools are only here for the profit and that multipool-eu are here for the long run and they support karma and blah blah blah blah.
now they've just abandoned karma without informing their miners (if they in fact are still on scrypt). i had personally hoped they would have done right by their miners.
I PM'd them tactfully on bitcointalk... miners will be mad with them and KARM if the pool does not switch or at least warn so hopefully they will act soon.

Hey gang, on the new wallet (0.8.6.5)... I installed it, used my wallet backup, started it up, and it synched everything real nice. But I don't see an option to unlock the wallet. Should I have backed up my wallet from old when it was unlocked?

maybe im doing something wrong but i cant seem to connect to the p2pool.
Here's my sgminer line for p2pool. I'm running the sph-sgminer that has the x11mod speedup... if you don't have that then try -k darkcoin. But if you don't have it, it's worthwhile to get because 50% greater hashrate.
So as i don´t understand how to use the p2p pool i will point my lone warrior towards xhash! On a side note, the Spanish thread was updated. Feel free to check it out whenever you want. Maybe you want to practice your Spanish? You are welcome to the family
no p2p pool helps the network..
all you have to do is go to your wallet. create a new address to receive coins. copy that address
go to your miners. make a new .bat file with
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://p2pool.altcoin.dk:9435 -u place your new address here -p pass
that simple. p2p pool do not keep your coins. they get payed as soon as they mature. this prevents any wallets from owning all the coins.
Thanks for your help! It's alive ! Now if i could only fix the miner to send shares according to the 0.02 diff limit only so i don't get too many rejected hahaha...
UrsaM... note P2Pools have a higher reject rate and this is normal. Also payouts will take a while to begin, maybe it will feel like too long but stick with it for 24 hr at least, the payouts will even out. (works the same way if you leave p2p after receiving at least one payout... payouts continue for a while even when you're not mining, then they dwindle and stop). The more people that mine here the better for all because the payouts come faster. Once you get past the scary bits, P2POOL RULES!
Pretty new to Groestlcoin... very impressed with thoughtfulness of discussions so far. As for the trolls, f@#% 'em. Thanks to the devs for much dedication I've seen in the threads... so hard when we have day jobs. Though I'm a long term dev, these languages and maths are foreign to me... will keep my mind's eye open for areas/ideas to contribute. Meanwhile, just groestling up some more blocks!
I just found AltOutlet, a market site selling products for alt coins... accepting 20 different coins, selling thousands of products. Part of all orders transactions are distributed to the charity of choice, selected on checkout. They do not take KARM (yet). Seems like they should... has anyone discussed this before? I vote to request being added to Altoutlet, and will take on that simple task if the community has no objection.
"Ɖ498,391 raised for charities across all currencies to date, at current exchange rates. A part of all orders is donated on your behalf as part of a group donation to your charity of choice. We aim to distribute funds weekly, depending on order statuses and the current donation total for each charity. "
The currencies listed are currencies that have previously shown interest in being added to Altoutlet, If you would like to see another currencies here, please drop us a message: https://altoutlet.com/alt/contact."
