Re: Server PSU + Some 350W PSU.

That server PSU is 240V only. Server PSU's are also made to run in an isolated server room and don't have any consideration to how loud they are. For a living space, you are better off with an ATX PSU.

I already have one... But there are no adapters for it (because its 2kW). So I know how loud it is and that it works here.

Also do not get a cheap PSU and run it 24/7, unless you want to burn your components along with your house  . Get atleast a bronze 80+ rate psu for your GPU.

Its platinum.

Server PSU + Some 350W PSU.
by

Hello. So I found out my EVGA 850 BQ is not enough for 3x r9 280x.

I am asking which is better:

- Some normal psu, but 1kW or 1.2kW (eg. EVGA, Corsair)
or
- Server PSU and some old 350W PSU I have here.
https://www.parallelminer.com/product/platinum-1200-watt-200-240v-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-zec-dash-eth/?attribute_62-pin-pcie-cables=%2B+8+6%2B2pin+PCIE+cables

Thanks.

PCIe Cards Working Randomly
by
Marekkon5
on 09/11/2017, 20:44:10 UTC
Hello, I have 3 r9 280x (Gigabyte).
- One is in case, in PCIe x16 Slot working fine

For the other two I have 2 expanders, and two slots (PCIe x16 and PCIe x1).
Because the GPUs wont fit inside and it would be overheating both must be on expanders outside case.

I tried all combinations of plugging those cards in those slots but none work as intended.

- Either only card nr.1 worked (0 - Internal, 1 - 1st external (PCIe Expander 0006), 2 - 2nd external (PCIe Expander 0007s))
- Or all showed up but system completly froze. (Only force restart helped)

Each time I swapped, it did one of those.

What can be causing the problem?
Too weak PSU (EVGA 850B, those cards have 300W TDP Each), or
Cable, expanders, or something else?

(BTW Cards are working fine if connected only 2 at the same time)

CPU: Intel Celeron G3900 (2 Core)
MoBo: AsRock B150M Pro4S
RAM: 1x CRUCIAL 4gb (there is only one supported type: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B150M%20Pro4S/?cat=Memory&Model=B150M%20Pro4S&Vendor=Crucial)

Thanks.

Re: Mine new coin: VoteCoin - equihash, very low difficulty now

Windows Wallet:

You can get windows wallet by using Bash on Windows 10. More info: https://www.howtogeek.com/249966/how-to-install-and-use-the-linux-bash-shell-on-windows-10/

I've built as said on the Github (with small changes):

Code:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install git
git clone https://github.com/Tomas-M/VoteCoin.git
cd ./VoteCoin/zcutil
sudo bash votecoin_build_debian.sh

then simply
Code:
#If you finished Installation:
cd ..
#If You opened new bash window
cd VoteCoin
and
Code:
./src/votecoind

This will start it.

Now open new bash window, and
Code:
cd VoteCoin
then you can use wallet:

Address:
./src/votecoin-cli getnewaddress

Shielded Address:
./src/votecoin-cli z_getnewaddress

Get Balance:
./src/votecoin-cli getbalance
./src/votecoin-cli z_getbalance

And make transaction (NOT Tried YET):
Quote
./src/votecoin-cli z_sendmany FROM_ADDR '[{"address": "TO_ADDR", "amount": 123}]' 1 0

In the above mentioned example, both FROM_ADDR and TO_ADDR can be either T addresses or Z addresses or combination. The last two numbers (1 0) stand for minConf and fee. In the example above, the coins on FROM_ADDR must have at least 1 confirmation, and fee is set to zero.

Remember that coinbase transaction (sending newly mined coins) must be done from a T address to a Z address. So if you wish to send newly mined coins to a T address, you need to send them to a Z address first and then make another transaction from that Z address to the T address destination.

After a transaction is executed using z_sendmany, you can check its status by using:

./src/votecoin-cli z_getoperationresult

[Tutorial] Exchange ZCash to Bitcoin with almost no fee
by
Marekkon5
on 12/07/2017, 12:05:02 UTC
First of all: sorry for bad english and sorry if I posted in wrong category.

How to exchange ZCash to BTC

Quick Answers:

Proof?
Proof at end of post.

Fee?
2%

Minimum
0.01 ZEC

Does this post have any referal links?
No.

Story:
I am a small miner - I dont make much and I exchanged everytime I hit 0.01 ZEC.
I always used Poloniex..... But they disabled it now. So I had to find a new way to exchange.
Yesterday I succeeded - Changed 0.01 ZEC to 0.0007BTC (1.81$ - 1.62$) so not completly fee-less, but still better than Bittrex 0.001BTC withdraw fee.

How to:

1. Make Perfect Money Account
If you already have, skip to 1.2

1.1 - Go to https://perfectmoney.is/signup.html and fill the form. The address doesn't have to be real, just select real country
after you are done, log in with credentials which were sent to your email

Your account should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/hDYJjb4.png
1.2 Copy your USD address/number (look at picture above)

2. Exchange ZCash to PerfectMoney USD

2.1 Go to https://www.changer.com/

2.2 Click show more on left (Send), and chose ZCash
2.2.1 On right (Recive) chose Perfect Money (It must be Perfect Money, NOT Voucher)

It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/K5F4EJH.png

2.3 Now chose how much ZCash you want to sell
2.3.1 To Enter your Perfect money account paste the copied text, It should start with U
2.3.2 Enter email

2.4 Now you click on Exchange
2.4.1 QR Code and address will appear, send your ZCash there.
2.4.2 Wait for 3 Confirmations, should take 30 min.

Optional: You can login again to PerfectMoney and check if money arrived.

3. Change Perfect Money to Bitcoins

According to PerfectMoney:
Quote
premium account 0.5%
verified account 0.5%
unverified account 1.99%

You probally have unverifed account. (I dont even know how to veirify  Tongue)
So calculate the fee.

3.1 Go to https://pm2btc.me

3.2 Enter the ammount - Fee
3.2.1 Enter your bitcoin address.
3.2.2 Enter email and check the tick.
3.2.3 Click exchange

3.3 Now youll be redirected to PerfectMoney payment.
3.3.1 Simply click accept, do capcha, click accept
3.3.2 After this you should be back on the pm2btc site, it will say something (I dont renember it, but it wasn't "Confirmed"). Simply check your bitcoin wallet, if nothing arrived wait minute - 5. If still nothing wait 24hours, then ask support.

Sorry for a little Noob tutorial.

Polo has been down for us for 3 days.
Have a lot of coin (Zcash) sitting in limbo waiting for them to get their poop in order.
Created a ticket and got an automated incomplete response, i.e. they had no clue when their Zcash wallet was going to be functional.
Currently mining to our own wallet accumulating coin.

I need recommendations for other exchanges to trade Zcash to BTC.

I smell a Mt. Gox coming

Thanks in advance.

I actually read a lot of posts, tried mining a lots of coins on my r9 270x. So I have some experience. On my r9 280x I am currently mining ZCash but from my googles and tries it seems like most profitrable one. But the price is dropping and Poloniex wont change. So if anyone knows any other coin.
