Re: Do you really earn more money because you went to college?

I would say you definitely earn more, but not right off the bat, you start so far in debt that it takes along time to climb your way out

theres been studies conducted and its shown because they were so far in debt they averaged out to be the same as someone without a college education who has been working their whole life.

Links?  My thought would be College would eventually overpower, but not for 10-15 years, and at that point is it worthit?

guess it depends what age you are when you went to college? how effective it would be I would be interested in those links though

5 years? why 5 five years? Bitcoin will probably take a lot longer than that to make it worth while to sell or even keep the main objective is to get it to become main stream isn't it and not just to get rich quick and cash out in fiat.

I'm not sure if eBay can avoid Bitcoin forever. Sooner or later they are going to have to take a firm stance.

But I don't know how much they would charge for fees we all know ebay are famous for over charging.

Re: Bitcointalk mod trying to censor me

No, if you want a permanent ban you have to earn it, not ask for it.

Is this a good idea?
I mean, if he really wants to get banned, he will probably create lots of spamming posts and unsolicited PMs 5 days later, which will cause more problem IMO.

Permabanning him would just play into his whole "I'm being censored and oppressed help meeeeee" shtick. Besides he's just having a temper tantrum, he'll calm down and forget about it five minutes after his ban expires.

I'm curious surely this would be ban evasion right or is it allowed because he was demanding a reason?

Generally speaking, Meta is the exception.

Right kk thanks. I wondered how ban evasion was enforced when I've seen loads of people registering and asking about their ban.

Re: I hope the price sinks
by
MarisaFea

IMHO 90% of the doomsday ppl who perpetuate the 'price sink' panic, are simply BUYERS hoping to get better liquidity at lower and lower prices to then profit from the subsequent upward rally. Happens all the time in the fiat trading world.

If people dont sell their BTC at low prices, then these doomsday sayers cant buy in.

While this is obvious to many, it can be hard to keep this in mind when going through the emotional roller coaster of suffering DD on an investment/trade. Dont be a victim of panic selling people!

I'm sorry you can act like you wouldn't want a price drop so you can buy Bitcoins cheaper but we all know everyone buys when its cheaper and would love for it to drop again. Stop acting like your wealthy and don't care either way what ever your wealth etc you see a great opportunity you take it.

... like cash enables thieves "even more" ...  Roll Eyes

money needs to be functional as an economic unit ... rather than fulfill every utopian fantasy bestowed upon it

Well that's always been my defense when explaining Bitcoin to people and they point out the issues with recent happening with mt gox and money laundering. Bitcoin does nothing less than cash does related to the legal side of things.

But, I'm just saying this sort of thing is adding fuel to the engine and could potentially make things a lot worse.

I was talking about how people compare Bitcoin users to criminals we all know it happens because of laundry for one example. Then this would just give those accusers more leverage because with this enabled technically everyone would be breaking the law.
You're gonna *love* my next blog post...

Link it to me and I'll tell you if I "love" it or not Wink

I'm really trying to figure this out and try to address some of my concerns and I believe this would result in a lot of accusations flying out.

I'm coming to the end of a cryptography course on coursera.
It's not directly related, but there's enough cross over to help stuff make sense.
https://www.coursera.org/course/crypto

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. I've been reading a lot of studying cryptography over the last few months and understand the basics but want to build up a portfolio if you will.

I'm looking for some real good educational resources for Bitcoin. I want to know how you learned about Bitcoin and hopefully learn a lot about it too. I want stuff from beginner level right up to the technical jargon.

So let me try and figure this out this is a little out of my league but here it goes:

Effectively you are creating a mixing service within the Bitcoin network itself? Making privacy better because no one can track where you sent your Bitcoin because it is split up and combined with other peoples transactions. Surely this has already been done by several mixing services?

Wouldn't this create more legal problems for Bitcoin? If this is what you want to achieve surely it's illegal because this can be abused very easily.

It also has technical benefits for the network in terms of reduced overheads.

btw, bitcoin is legal, it has no "legal problems". You are probably confused by the enormous legal complexities of handling government fiat.

I was talking about how people compare Bitcoin users to criminals we all know it happens because of laundry for one example. Then this would just give those accusers more leverage because with this enabled technically everyone would be breaking the law.

Making Bitcoin illegal in every country if this is enabled. Unless I'm not fully grasping something I think that's what this is all about and could cause a few problems.

I can see why this would be beneficial to the network and the general user of Bitcoin but I can also see it enabling thieves even more.
