Both control boards will boot the custom OpenWRT and can load the Web interface but 1 the fans go full blast and the other not but doesn't see Hash boards or the RPMs on the Fans but the fans turn off waiting for the turn on command I am guessing.

The first link I am guessing forces the thing to do a factory image reset
The second link being mainly javascript which I guess replaces the web panel

What you could do is hook the boards via UART -> USB and try this way.

There is also this github project that used similar way.

Mighty Miner

https://github.com/MightyDevices/mightyminer

Was created for the S1 but I am sure there is possibility of this working on the S3 boards too.

Hope this helps.

Need some help on some info for old S3s

I got two used S3s to play around with bigger SHA256 asics the previous owner didn't treat these things right the fans were in wrong orientation once I tested them unit 1 a somewhat good control board 1 good hash board 1 bad hash board, Unit 2 1 Bad controller and 2 good Hash boards. So I tried to make 1 good unit out of 2 half to non working units. I got it working but after a few boot the internal USB to UART section went belly up not seeing the Hash boards or Fan signals tried it on all 3 working hash boards. I was reading is post from back in 2015 on here were a adapter for the S3 hash board was worked on sadly I can't find a picture of the board or even the schematic, and the site alot of the picture were stored on didn't make it to the wayback machine

I am referencing this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671128.880

I am looking for the circuit diagram or schematic or even a good picture if it is a single layer board. If there is another way let me know.

I mange to find the pinouts I am thinking for the S3 Hash board from the thread, Can you use the old USB Block Erupters to slave out its USB to UART interface if that is what its header is for, I have 3 of those.

Right now the 1 and a half  S3s are paper weights. I know for bitcoin they may not be profitable but there is other SHA256 Altcoins and i am doing this as a hobby

Yup it keeps them cool Very well. They don't get Hot At all. Also with this I can always make the tower bigger for more USB hubs and more USB ASICs. The Reason why I am started with Block Eruptor Asic Miners is they are Cheap to get for now to get because I can't afford to much with cash, For most of the mining that I have done before I was stuck with CPU Mining and 1 GPU on my Gaming Rig.

So can you feel the airflow if you put your hand on the exit?
Yup.

Ok, but hold on, now I saw the fan; I thought it was passive. What happens if you turn off the fan?

*infernal tower* Grin
I don't want to find out with it overheating and melting plastic.

They are USB Block Eruptors 333.6Mh/s Rev3.0, I eventually want to get 5 Ant miners, there was a Ant miner sell on ebay but when the intventory begin to run out the seller upped the price from $60 USD to $80USD and I couldn't get it when I was finally to have some of the cash. The only one I got lucky with was a Lot of 3 USB Block Erupters for around $50 USD.

The Power Supply that I am using can handle 5 USB Devices alone. it is from a old Linksys Wireless B 5V 2.5A

So does that heat tunnel work?

I am still tring to start out at bitcoin mining, for the mining computer is a Acer Aspire one netbook to use the Asic, I eventually want to get a Rasberry Pi

I am thinking of the same thing because just recently the OEM power adapter for my USB Hub started not to produce the amps needed and in turn only 3 of my Block Eruptor were working and the forth were tring to mine but the green LED stayed on. I had to find another power adapter which I did from a OLD Linksys Wireless B Access point which was 5V 2.5Amp which could support 5 BEs and they are happy and mining at full speed and no errors

Issue with XP and USB Block eruptors

i found the solution that I didn't know was the serial number issue
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270367.0

I have been using a Netbook with Windows XP SP 3 and it will allow 2 USB Block Miners, when I add 3 it says there is a dublicate device running on the system. It is not the miners because they all work and I have to have 2 on one computer and the other 2 on the others. I used the WinUSB drivers from zadig. it does this on my laptop with the internal USBs also. Is there something I am missing or another way or driver. I also use CGminer.
