It is too sweeping a statement to make, collectively for differing icos. Depending on the project, scope and vision, sometimes that makes it worth enough to attract investment strength.

"sometimes that makes it worth enough to attract investment strength." good projects like you mention, are reaching amounts like a hundred million dollars, which does not make sense at all.

I just did not want it to call it "bubble" but it is the word we need. This subject disturbing me for a while. We are offering an ICO millions of dollars. What did they do to worth that much ? Should I gather my team with 10 ppl to be a millionere? With a good marketing and a fair project It should workout for me too. Confused too much.

Is it really worth it?
by

Hello folks,

I've a question in my mind regarding altcoins and ICO's. As the market growth, there are tons of altcoins out there and lots of ICO's on the way. In my opinion, the total marketcap represents the value of the company. From this perspective, consider an altcoin with 5 to 10 employee and 10million dollars of marketcap. 5 to 10 employee and look at the amount. Do these companies really worth this much? I've been trading for more then a year but could not figure out this clearly in my mind.

So what is your opinion?

not following back people.
Hope u didnt meant here black people.
Bad people? What is this?
How is it usefull? I mean people really follow people randomly? They need to know who they follow.
If that would be usefull that would already exist for every social website. Remove inactive friends, without profile picture etc.

I think he meant the follow back spree(If you follow me I will follow you) in twitter. It should be useful for some bounties which are asking for twitter audit links.

1 - Lesson one: Do not buy a coin from the highest point of that candlestick

Then I thougt It was an oppurtunity for me to buy more coins from that burning one! The coin of the future! All-in to the same coin second day! The next day another %50 fall!
This isn't necessarily bad, it completely depends on the situation.
e.g. It's mid December, and you bought BTC at somewhere near it's peak (16k-19k); it's fine in my opinion if you're just planning on holding on to it for decades and if you think bitcoin will rise above it in the future anyway.

Still a great tip though, but geared towards more of short-mid term investors.

Isn't it better if you bought some BTC on 8k ? So I'll stick to my learned lessons, I may buy BTC anytime, but never on the highest point! Never buy with full of my usd savings, need to save some to buy later on. I buy gradually, I sell gradually.

Failure is a better teacher than success do so this advice of you OP would be good for others who are yet to begin crypto trading. I have experience these mistakes myself so I can relate to you but now, I learned my lesson and know the importance of having a trading plan and not being emotional and greedy when trading. Plan your trade and trade your plan.

This part can be a introduction part of a book! Well said! Thank you

You're spot on with the lessons you learned. I am sorry that you had to learn the hard way.

As you've realized, education is key. To those who don't know better yet: Greed, not knowing better and fear can be a rather deadly combination. It is better to take the time to learn from the various resources available online than to jump in half-cocked and suffer big losses.

"Greed, not knowing better and fear can be a rather deadly combination" perfectly told!

A newbie's experience to help others

This is my story in cryptoworld. I think It may help newbies like me! I wont give any coin names, it may be anycoin in the market. Just wanted to share my experience, and I think It may be useful for everyone like me who entered this wild world lately. For those who does not want to read them all, just read the lessons, wish It helps someone out there. I'm sure there are a lot of like me out there, this is our story indeed!

I started investing in Altcoins in 06.2017. I was looking at the green coins in the market, one of them was burning, I thought that was the coin I was looking for. Then bought it with my %50 of BTC and go to sleep.  I was expecting to woke up a richer and wealthy day! BAM! %50 loss in the first day!

1 - Lesson one: Do not buy a coin from the highest point of that candlestick

Then I thougt It was an oppurtunity for me to buy more coins from that burning one! The coin of the future! All-in to the same coin second day! The next day another %50 fall!

2 - Lesson two: Do not All-in to one coin!

Then panic started. I dont know what to do, I already lost %75 of my money. Then I sold all of them and back to BTC! After two month the coin I bought was much valuble then I bought it in the first day!

3 - Lesson three: If you really trust in the project, just give it a chance! (Learned this more later)

I started to dig more into Bitcointalk and learned how to invest, started to do some graphic readings and today I already tripled my enterance point.

Oh before the last and the best lesson:
4- Never jump into pump and dump events like some phenomenon does. I once lost %50 just in seconds.

Re: How much you earned from the bounty..?
by
Marteel
on 27/02/2018, 11:45:13 UTC
It depends on the campaign, participated bounty type's and your effort on it. Bounties are not easy money. There are rules for earning the stakes. For example, generally in twitter bounties, only 1 tweet allowed one day and you have to tweet about campaign everyday and report your tweets.

So bounties need too much effort and the price of tokens earned from bounties depends on the project and ico price of tokens.

It depends on the channel. X3 is good for public and free channels. x3 is good for any platform by the way. If I were you, I would not pay for more.

Re: Does ETH in Coinbase receive a Token?
by
Marteel
on 20/02/2018, 16:10:23 UTC
Hi everybody in Bitcointalk Forum!

I have a ETH address in Coinbase! I see some project send a token for bounty. I sent my ETH address in Coinbase but I don't know that do I get Tokens? Who has ever used ETH address in Coinbase for token transaction, so can tell me about it! Thanks all!

You need an ERC20 compatible address for projects because they dont send your coins in ETH. And also it is not only about having an ERC20 compatible wallet, some projects require other wallets like NEM.

Re: What do I need to know to protect my Bitcoins?
by
Marteel
on 18/02/2018, 13:39:43 UTC
I would create a wallet and print it in a qr code, and I would keep it safe in a paper wallet. To me this is the best way to keep it secure: making it a physical piece of paper and maybe you can tell somebody you really trust where are you hiding it (just in case something happens to you… je).
Nevertheless, your method is strong enough, I’m just the kind of person that prefers to conserve my money behind the pillow, as an old man.

In order to these, isnt it safer to buy a hardware wallet? online wallets are have the potential for being expolited, imho. Nothing is more secure then the money in your pocket.

Re: ICO or Airdrop?
by
Marteel
on 16/02/2018, 13:09:46 UTC
ICO stands for Initial Coin Offering, which means you buy tokens before project is alive. You pay for the coins in ICO's
Airdrop is the term for free tokens for completing the tasks required to earn it.

You dont pay for airdrops, but you invest in ICO's.

Im not sure if there is a minimum one needs to invest if pursuing that path. But i was thinking of sticking to my ZEC mine and drop 100$ into buying ETH every two weeks.

Assuming ETH and ZEC already shining coins, It  will be better for you to invest unshined ones with solid roadmap and good projects. The income will be much more higher.

I think it is a chance. The airdrop you participated may worth a lot after being listed on exchanges, but there is a chance that coin would never listed in the marketplace. so join the airdrops, but dont expect an income from there.
